Meet your local guide and steel yourself for a spooky walk through the dark recesses of New Orleans’ rich haunted history. Cross your fingers that you’ll encounter (or not!) a ghost at one of the eerie venues to come.
Stop at the New Orleans Creole Cookery to hear tales of a twisted love triangle before glimpsing the Lalaurie Mansion, considered the most haunted house in New Orleans. Discover the details of the Ghost Table at Muriel's Jackson Square.
Then it's on to the Old Ursuline Convent Museum, where your guide fills you in on a variety of infamous stories, including about the Casket Girls of New Orleans. Finally, stop at the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, where you can hear the tales about Doctor Dupas' secret experiments.

I hate leaving poor reviews, but occasionally it is necessary to instigate improvement. This visit was June 8th, 2024, and I was taking a friend to NOLA for the first time. I have used many services for ghost tours in the area, and like many tours, the guide makes all the difference. Sadly, ours was losing her voice. She couldn’t project more than about 5 feet, and so you couldn’t hear her. This might have been okay if it was a small tour. In fact, when I booked the tour, it said the cap on participants was 14 when most allow 28. Well, that was blatant false advertising. There were 26 in our group. My friend is a technophile, and this tour advertised augmented reality. Well, when the tour started, the guide said it doesn’t work well with android phones. He downloaded an app, and got it to work. You have to scan a QR code at each stop….with 28 people trying at once. Then the images were worthy of an 80s zombie movie, his words. There will always be hiccups when experimenting with new technology, and I absolutely give the tour company props for trying. Sadly, this was not ready for deployment. We gave up and disappeared down an alley off Jackson Square to find our own ghosts.

We regret that you experienced difficulties with the technology. As we roll this out with a historian/artist we have posted that it does not always work with Android devices. Our tour number is usually about 14-16 people. We will be sure the tour manager takes a long at why their was a larger number. Our apologies for your disappointment.

Our tour guide was incredible! Bob S was wonderful and I would do it all over again! The walk wasn’t bad at all and Bob made us feel safe and was very attentive. You won’t be disappointed!

Rebecca was a fantastic guide and a natural storyteller— she really helped connect New Orleans history to the modern day and shared a glimpse of life in Southern Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast. Excellent job!

It’s more of scary historical details of the city. Very well done. I went w my 11 and 14yo. They weren’t spooked that they couldn’t sleep at night, but did find the stories spooky! The tour guide was conscious with the fact the kids were with us with regards to words he chose. He was great. I appreciate his own historical background being from there.

Our tour guide never showed up and we waited for almost 30 minutes. Very frustrating, but the ladies at the ticket booth were very nice and apologetic so thankful for them.

Kate was amazing! Very great story teller and very informative. Make sure you have your walking shoes on! It was exciting to learn the more scary history of New Orleans and she made it spooky.

The Ghost and spirit walking tour is not at all as we expected. It turned out to be a mere walk of almost 2 hrs and listening to the guide telling historic stories of the city, governors, their death, their secret affairs, the suicides and the belief that the spirits are wandering there somewhere, not even stepping into any of the haunted places or houses. It’s honestly very boring and the most disappointing tour we’ve done with Viator. Not recommend it to anyone.

The tour was great! Our guide Todd really knew the history and was a great story teller.
I must note, that the other reviews that talked about come hungry were NOT talking about this tour. We stopped at one restaurant for a look at the courtyard and a few minutes to grab a drink if desired. But, no food.
So, the tour IS highly recommended, but eat first or plan on a late dinner. :

I have been on several Ghost and Spirit Tours but this by far was the absolute WORST by far!!!!!! The tour guide was horrible, our tour started 30 minutes LATE and we weren't given our money back nor were we given an extra 30 minutes of the tour, like we paid for! I would NEVER recommend this tour to anyone! IT WAS HORRIBLE and all 10-12 other paying customers on the tour with us were 100 dissatisfied. As a matter of fact 2 of the 12 couples walked away from the tour after 15 minutes of it actually starting. The stories were horrible and rushed, just not a good experience at all! nothappy horribletour givememymoneyback

Unfortunately this tour was way too much walking for myself and my husband! Our tour guide was informative with all the details he gave as we made numerous stops throughout our walk through the French Quarter. We could tell that he was very passionate about the history of the ghosts and stories of the area. We understood that this walking tour was scheduled for approximately 2 hours. We met our guide at 7:00, so had a light appetizer before the tour, with plans to enjoy dinner after the tour. My husband had to bale out midway through the tour, so he headed back to Jackson Square to wait for the rest of our group. We walked endlessly throughout the French Quarter, only to have him announce the end of the tour at 9:30 p.m., several blocks away from where we began! We were then forced to walk all the way back towards Jackson Square to meet up with my husband. By then we missed our 9:30 reservation for dinner, and were forced to just find any place to eat! I ended up with a huge blister on my foot by the end of the evening! Will never take a walking tour again!!!

If you're interested in learning the history and viewing the spots of ghostly hauntings then this is the tour for you. Our guide Stacey was very informative of the nocturnal goings on. Pity most places were boarded up or an area of business because I would have loved to have gotten a closer look. I highly recommend this tour to those unfamiliar to the area or those who have a craving for history. It wasn't a scary tour, but I liked it nonetheless.

Did not experience any ghostly experience. Informed that the hotel in which I was staying was one of the haunted New Orleans' hotels. Interesting stories. We witnessed a wonderful lightning experience.

Fairly good. Missed most of the truly historic apparitions, but managed to keep
things friendly and interesting. The rain came down in buckets just before the
walk, threatening the evening, and the guide showed flexibility, but the rain
let up to a trickle the minute we started. That was spooky, in a good way.

I'm a solo female business traveler, and this tour was a good way for me to safely venture out and enjoy the French Quarter at night. Our guide Michael was very knowledgeable, and his passion for the rich history of this area was obvious. Expect a lot of walking and then standing while your guide relates the history of the most haunted buildings. You're encouraged to take photos, which may reveal paranormal activity when you later inspect them. (None of mine revealed ghostly apparitions, but it was fun nevertheless.) I enjoyed the tour and the history lesson and wouldn't hesitate to go again.
Note that the online tour description says that the tour begins at the Jackson Brewery. That's a huge building! Don't go to the Bistro Bar; the tour desk is located on the ground floor of the shopping mall.

We met our tour guide Todd at the lighthouse. Todd was very fun, informative and knowledgeable tour guide. After seeing all the sights on the tour, I was having a conversation with him about Madam Marie Delphine Lalaurie's home. He stated it was not on the tour. He told my traveling companions and I where it was on Royal St. I don't know if I should include this, but as this was the best tour, I am. After Todd concluded the tour and was off duty, he asked if we would like to see the house. Of course we said yes. So we stopped at a bar and I bought him a beer. With cocktails in hand, we walked to this house where he gave the history of the house. Upon arrival, my girlfriends and I took several pics and had dancing orbs from the outside of the house. We were told that Nicolas Cage had owned the house but since his tax evasions, it was confiscated from him and no one currently lived in the house. As we took pics, a gentleman walked up to my sister and asked why we were taking pictures of this house. We told him because it was haunted. We also told him that local legend states that locals will not walk under the balcony of the home as well. We watched him as he walked under the balcony and disappeared into a door way. Suddenly he was standing on the balcony talking to us. We asked him several questions to which he would neither confirm or deny. All in all, this was the best tour we had taken and Todd was an absolute gem for not only the tour, but the after tour as well. He totally made our trip. Thanks Todd!

We took our tour on Halloween night in the rain and it was fantastic! Our guide was so knowledgeable about NOLA history and even got us into 2 haunted buildings. I highly recommend this tour!

This tour is a walking ghost story tour. You simply walk around New Orleans garden district and the tour guide tells you different ghost stories. If you like that kind of thing then do this tour. I was not impressed but maybe it is because I have experienced a true haunting!
