Amazing experience! A top-tier production that has a great story. The performances, dancing, and fire dancing was outstanding!

This is my family’s first time in Hawaii and attending a Luau. The Kaula Luau was a great and entertaining experience from the ride from our hotel in Waikiki to Ko Olina; and the entire Luau show
George_B, Jul 2026
Not a traditional luau , they use food trucks we thought it would be like a real luau cooked in a fire pit !
Reyna_J, Jul 2026
Do not go. This is NOT a real Luau. The food is horrible. They have little booths were they serve the food on little paper plates on a tray you carry. It is worse than cafeteria food. Poor presentation. Food is cold because it has been served ahead of time. The show is ok. Fire performance was excellent. They give you kokui nuts keis instead of flowers.
You receive a little bag with candy and hand sanitizer at the end. Maybe invest on improving the quality of your food instead. I had so many choices and pick wrong. Very expensive but not worth the money. I thought because it was in Ko’Olina this event would have been better. WRONG

The luau exceeded all our expectations! The dancing was captivating, the storytelling was heartfelt, and the energy was incredible from start to finish. It was the perfect way to experience the spirit of Hawaii. Highly recommend! 🌺❤️ Staff are great too!

This luau show is a story of cultures blended, is family friendly and features mesmerizing performances. Drinks were delicious and food plentiful.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Shannon! Mahalo for visiting us at Kaula Luau and for your kind words. We hope you learned so much about Hawaii's connection to places like Tahiti and Samoa from Mahina and her grandmother's story. We are proud to partner with Moani and Island Distillery to offer carefully selected dishes and cocktails for our guests to enjoy. We hope you'll visit Ko Olina again for another mesmerizing evening at Kaula Luau! With Aloha!

The show itself was great. Even though our ticket said 5:30, we were outside in line until 6. Once inside & checked in, there was little communication. We had to wait in a crowded concrete area until all the VIP guests were in. You could get your welcome drink which was lemonade (with or without alcohol) and if you had children, they could get a tattoo. It was after 6:30 before we were allowed inside which we found frustrating. The food was served cafeteria style from 5 food trucks and you could go back as much as you wanted. Lines were short. Cash bar was also available. Tables were cleared quickly by very pleasant staff. There were a couple other activities for kids as well. I only have it to compare with the now paradise Cove luau, which I felt had more to offer in the way of a traditional meal as well as the grounds themselves and activities. However, the show itself was very good. Another plus is that is walkable from KoOlina Marriott, Disney and a little further, the four seasons. Parking is easy and free. If the show is your priority or you
prefer to avoid buffets, I recommend this luau.

Hi Melody! Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience. We apologize for the lack of communication from our team and for the long wait times. I will be sure to bring this up with our team so we can address these concerns and improve the guest experience at Kaula. Outside of those issues, however, Kaula Luau production is unique in that it follows a singular storyline of Mahina and her grandmother connecting their lineage back to other places in the Pacific, like Tahiti and Samoa, and we are glad you enjoyed the show. We hope the next time you're in Ko Olina, we can offer you an even better experience at Kaula Luau!

Small and intimate. Bus transportation pickup was easy and pleasant. Enjoyed the food and the storytelling of the show. Beautiful location in Ko Olina. Everyone was very nice and friendly.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Warm greetings Maronda! Thank you for your concise and pleasant review of Kaula Luau. We're glad you got to experience our shuttle offering and hope that ride set the tone for the rest of the night. Storytelling is crucial in Hawaii, and we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed Mahina and her grandmother's story! Ko Olina is without a doubt beautiful, located right on the Ocean's Edge, offering stunning sunset and ocean views. We hope you never forget that gorgeous sight, and you'll visit us once again for another lovely night at Kaula Luau.

Beautiful experience! Learning new cultures is one of our favorite things while traveling and seeing the culture of Hawaii was amazing and done so beautifully.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Mahalo nui Daniella for coming out to see Kaula Luau. Hawaii is a place full of connections across the Pacific to places like Samoa and Tahiti, and we are honored to have guests like yourself who enjoy learning about those stories and traditions. May you never forget this luau experience, and we hope that one day you'll join us again in Ko Olina for another night at Kaula!

Great story about a young woman tracing her ancestry across the islands! Very cool to see the different types of traditional dances and fire throwing! All-you-can-eat and the cocktails were good
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Aloha Tiffany! The story told by Mahina and her grandmother is not only unique to Kaula Luau, but it is also a portrayal of Hawaii's connection to Samoa and Tahiti, and we are glad you enjoyed that aspect of the show. The fire-knife dance is without a doubt a crowd favorite! The combination of our all-you-can-eat selection and delicious cocktails truly enhances the luau experience, and we are happy to hear they were both good. We hope you visit us again at Ocean's Edge for another memorable evening of storytelling, great food/drinks, and stunning sunset views!
Byron_F, May 2026
Excellent Luau, the show was more like a production filled with a full light show and even offered acrobatics! Very entertaining show!!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you, Byron, for sharing your experience! It's an honor to have our luau on an oceanfront lawn with sunset views and advanced technology to deliver a show full of lights, music, and storytelling. The acrobatics are an extremely popular portion of our show, and so we're happy to hear you were entertained. Mahalo once again, and we hope you come back to experience Kaula again!

Such a great show with an even better cast and crew. Everyone was so kind and the mix of entertainment and education was great. Loved the posters with the community heroes.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Mahalo nui for the kind review. We love our wall of community heroes, too. Did you notice that each of the food stands is named after one of them? We're proud to acknowledge our heritage, and share it with visitors to the islands.

We absolutely loved the show The preshow activities were so much fun. The preshow itself was great. The show brought tears to my eyes, listening to the story it told. . The performers were amazing, energetic and professional. I loved the food truck dinner. My sons said they loved it so much that they want to see it again. From start to finish the show was a wonderful representation of the Polynesian culture.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Melinda, we are SO glad you got to enjoy the preshow activities. Are you ready to join the cast as a Fire-Knife dancer, or maybe a drummer? We're glad the kids had a good time, too! We built some special moments in the experience with kids in mind. Bringing them back again wouldn't be spoiling them, we promise.
G_L, Apr 2026
The “Ohana” were fantastic, from the parking lot until the event was over, everyone was so nice, friendly, spoke and helped with a big smile. The food and drinks were very tasty. And the show was a cultural journey for sure. We learned things! Not to mention they are putting on a benefit for the flood with Jason Momoa… They take pride in what they do and how they do it. Great family luau experience!
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Aloha, we sincerely apologize for ruining all other luaus you'll see in the future.
Just kidding, we're thrilled that you chose us, and we're so glad you liked the show and the food. The smiles on the cast and crew are genuine, we really do love our work and love sharing aloha with our guests.
Craig_R, Apr 2026
Really well done production. Been to many luaus and this probably was one of the better productions I’ve seen. They did a nice job weaving a story around the cultures of the different islands
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thanks Craig! As a new show, we're always happy to hear this kind of feedback. Next time you're in Ko Olina, please come back and see us again!
