Fun, leisurely kayak and paddleboat tour of the local brackish waterways, through a neighborhood, local park, and mangroves. Good pace for kids and adults. Didn’t see any manatees but saw local birds and lizards. Guide did a great job, kids had a lot of fun!

    Tour guide Daniela

    Aubrey_C, May 2026
I can’t say enough good things about our experience, especially our guide, Daniela! This was one of the main things we wanted to do during our stay, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Daniela seemed just as excited to show us around as we were to experience everything. You could genuinely tell she loves what she does and truly cares about the canals, mangroves, and all the wildlife that calls them home. Her energy, knowledge, and passion made the whole experience even more special. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting!

    Response from Host, May 2026

Exceeded expectations. So exccited to read your review. Thank you for sharing!

    Not as advertised

    Chris_S, Mar 2026
This is not a “guided eco” tour - it’s guided - but only directionally. These are not guides who offer insights on local ecology, history, or in fact manatees. If you ask you might get an experienced answer - or not. Picture is misleading as well. No, you’re going to kayaking though canals - not a mangrove forest as shown. This isn’t about whether or not you see manatees - that is outside any tour’s control. What is within the tour company’s control is fair representation. We did not receive a guided ecological tour. We received a directional tour with guides who could (or not) answer questions related to manatees. And guide, a woman, does not have the disposition for the task. Overpriced. Rent a kayak and google manatee info and local ecological information before had - it’ll be cheaper. Do not recommend.

Here is what people on the exact same tour said: Perfect for couples, friends or families... or even when flying solo. It was great to leave the noises of the main drag and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the canals. FYI: Our description describes Manatee and Guide expectations. We can only guess that you looked at pictures and did not read the description. Dissapointed in your review all the same.

This is very well run, professional, Jay our guide was wonderful!! It is a kayak in the intercoastal waterway surrounded by homes, with a short detour into a mangrove area. Manatee sightings not guaranteed, but lovely experience on the water.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

We appreciate your feedback and hope the next tour is even better.

You definitely might not see any manatees, but I knew that going into it and we still had a fabulous time!

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for sharing! Mother nature and being in the outdoors is always a great way to spend a few hours.

Very lovely paddle through the canals. Even though we didn't see any manatees, we saw lots of other wildlife and it was beautiful.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Wildlife and beauty is a great recipe for a good day. Thanks for sharing!

    Great experience!

    Ana_B, Feb 2026
Great experience! Our tour guide took her time to explain about the mango Groves and we saw quite a few manatee families

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

MANATEE FAMILIES! What a lucky day indeed. They are in the wild so we really never know!

Good guide for the physically fit—- don’t take a double kayak!

    rebecca_h, Feb 2026
I originally had preferred not to leave a review because I was less happy. The leader gave us the option of going straight back or going a little further and rushing back. We preferred to go straight back but did not vote because we did not want to ruin it for anyone else. To us—- not much of a choice. My husband had a cramp on the way back and I mostly had to row back myself with the constant reminder from the guide that we had to hurry because she had an appointment. When I finally got him back I was exhausted. Instead of taking us on the dock quickly, we were forced to wait (even though we were clearly in distress) My husband ended up turning the boat over and we had to be fished out. While they did a good job fishing us out, it probably wouldn’t have happened if they would have moved us up. Use this guide if you are in good shape. Don’t expect much sympathy if you run into trouble. Also no manatees.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Cramps usually happen if someone is not hydrated and not much any guide is going to be able to help. Regardless, we are sorry you did not have a great experience. We wish you all the best! Happy to compliment you if you wish to try again. Just let me know with an easy reply here and I will not it for a future visit.

The tour guide was awesome and knowledgeable! Only wish we could have seen some manatees or other wildlife besides iguanas.

Awesome and knowledgeable! Thank you so much for the positive feedback.

    Disappointed

    JOANN_T, Feb 2026
It was advertised as a manatee guided tour. All the tour guide did was show us the path through the canals which we could have done with a map. There was no useful information and no manatees. The advertisement shows lots of manatees.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

We understand that some people look at pictures and do not read. This can cause disappointment as we did not advertise as you stated. In fact: our web page and promotions all have this: Note: Manatee live in the wild and are not captivated to be in any specific location. Our Guide(s) have experience with the eating and traveling habits to improve our chances of spotting a Manatee which frequently are see near the Mangroves on our Island City ECO Paddle. We also have a good eye on how to spot these gentle plant eaters by the patterns of the water as they move thru our waterways and our goal is to point them out for you. WE MAKE NO GUARANTEES that you will see a Manatee as any given day they can travel anywhere and are not always in plain sight. We respect these lovable beings and enjoy the are of exploration.

    Eco kayak tour

Sarah, our tour guide was outstanding very friendly and enjoyable, we got to see lots of wildlife in iguana, unfortunately we weren’t able to see any manatee due to the rare cold weather, but was still a great time together

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Outstanding, Friendly, Enjoyable = Great Time! Thank you for sharing!

Take this tour! We learned so much! Cassidy is amazing!

    Ken_D, Feb 2026
We learned so much about the area. The amount of invasive species to the area has caused so much loss of wildlife to this area. Amazing that the growing population of the area doesn't know how devastating the loss of mangrove habitat is to the entire state. Our tour guide Cassidy is a true gem and spokesperson for this areas habitat.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Amazing review. Thank you for sharing. A true gem indeed!

The guides were so friendly and helpful. I felt very safe. We did not see any manatees though and that was disappointing.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Despite not seeing any manatees, we really appreciate the five stars. We strive to find them and sometimes they are not in the neighborhood and for that we also get sad. Thank you so much for sharing.
