I got left behind

I went on the full moon kayaking guided tour and I was slow to start. My arms needed a few minutes to warm up and the group got far ahead of me. There was a guide behind me until the group turned right into the inter coastal and then he disappeared and I was alone in the pitch black dark. I yelled, hey, wait for me! I yelled help! Nothing. Then I saw a kayak that had turned right into a canal and they said we’re here, when I was about to either cry or turn back around. They stayed near me until I reached my group who was taking a break before heading back. They all said they didn’t hear me yelling for help and that someone should have been behind me. I was the last one and nobody was behind me once we reached the inter coastal. I returned with everyone at the same pace and was relieved it was over. Even with repellent I was bitten by mosquitoes. The only positive thing was seeing the full moon.

Great experience even for beginners, just make sure any stragglers don’t fall behind and get lost in the darkness. Nice s'mores around a campfire afterwards.
