Considered Chicago’s original “Millionaire’s Row,” Prairie Avenue in the Near South Side is renowned for its Gilded Age mansions—and this tour makes exploring easy (and delightfully spooky). In the evening, meet your guide in front of the Glessner House, and set off with ghost-hunting gear to accompany you. In between spotting highlights including the Marshall Field Jr. Mansion and the Henry B. Clarke House, you’ll hunt for specters and hear ghost stories.

Great historical/ghost tour of “millionaire’s row”

While in town for work I was looking for something interesting to do near the conference center/hotels by McCormick. This was a phenomenal walking tour of some of Chicago’s oldest residences built around the 1880s. The tour guide Tony is extremely knowledgeable about local history and a great storyteller. Definitely some haunted spaces, he gave us EMF meters to play with and we picked up signals in several locations. Highly recommend. Thank you so much!

A must see tour

Except for being a little cold, it was a very interesting tour. Tony was very a fountain of knowledge about the history of the neighborhood and the houses we visited. He had stories of ghost sightings at the various areas we visited. A very worthwhile tour.

Our tour guide Tony was very knowledgeable on the history of the neighborhood that he gave us a tour and learned a lot about that district Allowed us to use ghost hunting equipment which I thought was really cool Overall Tony did a great job with the weather being terrible Overall Tony did a great job with the weather being terrible

A bit of scandalous history in Chicago

Though, I am a native Chicagoan, I went on the tour to learn more about the history of its iconic millionaires. Upon arriving, my friend and I were greeted by an enthusiastic tour guide. He gave us a little background on himself, and then seamlessly began a lovely tour of millionaires row. We first learned about Fort Dearborn, and it's bloody battle, and how bodies are still found from time to time on Michigan ave. To McCormic place being built on an old cemetery, where the bodies may not have been moved. Then moving on to the stardom of each millionaire, to building a their empires that lead them to build such lavish extravagant mansions. To boozing sex laden scandalous nights, and some of the most expensive soreys, that were spoken about for years to come. I learned a lot about our iconic millionaire fore-founders. It was a night to definitely remember. I highly recommend it.
