Our sons (14 & 12) started our trip with these lessons and it’s still my 14 year old’s favorite part. We had Arie and Aria. You’ll go out in a larger group but have one instructor focused on you. Great time!

Overview

Learn to surf in one of the world’s most famous surfing locations, Hawaii, with a private instructor. Head to Kahaluu Beach Park, known for its gentle waves, and don your provided surf gear to begin your lesson. Get tips from a professional surfer and then take to the waves. Since this is a private lesson, you receive undivided attention from your private instructor while you are in the water.

We meet on the north end of the beach. Look for a Silver Step Van parked along side the guard rail. Front of our Van will have our Logo & Name. There is public parking at the main beach area. Parking charge of 12$. Limited street parking is available as well.

We booked this activity for 1st time surfers for our 4 girls between 9-12 yrs age group. They loved it and were able to surf by themselves by 3rd try. We were amazed to see our girls having so much fun!! Private tutors were very helpful and encouraging the girls keep goingl!!

Arie was a great tutor (I did a private lesson with her). I can now stand on the wave well! It was a fun time! But if anyone wants to book and looking for the location, you may need to look for the truck with the sign Send Town Kona Surfer (Something similar to it) as they company packs their truck near Kahalu’u beach park (on the roadside)

Andrew (12 year old) had a fabulous experience yesterday with Joe. He could not have had a better coach! Got up on that surfboard his second try and every try afterwards. Joe is truly extraordinary. He didn’t “talk down” to him, but treated him like a buddy. He did such a good job of preparation on land before they hit the waves. We loved everything about him!

Great personalized teaching, I learned a lot. Great teacher with a lot of patience. We had nice gentle learning waves and great weather. Wasn’t too busy when I went at 2 pm session. I’ve don’t a couple’s class in the past, a solo class is well worth the extra for learning.

The guys were great! My 12 year old went out there and surfed and her instructor was awesome! He didn’t push her and he let her go at her own pace. She caught a few ways and he made sure she was safe the whole time. We are will do this again!

Kingsley was a great instructor and I had a wonderful time. However, the other guest and myself each paid for a private lesson and only one instructor showed up. I was not really affected by this as it was my first time surfing, but the other guest had some experience and might not have gotten the value she expected.

Too Young to Be Surfing Instructors

Instructors are very teenager- young. I overheard the other young Instructors betting that I wouldn’t last and they were hoping to end my session early. I would have preferred adult for this session. I asked to take a break and it seems like the young instructor lacked compassion. It kept asking me if I wanted to end my session because I wanted a break., which is not cool. The website said they had professional instructors but all I saw were kids as instructors who lacked professionalism.

Professional and cordial. They called me the day before appt because the wave condition was expected to be too calm. I changed the date. Then I was still given the option of canceling on the spot with full refund. I went ahead and lesson was still great for the first half. Wave died down later but I was very satisfied. Highly recommended!
