Overview
Approximately 45 minutes southwest of Austin lies the Driftwood/Wimberley area of the Texas Hill County. Here, you'll find rustic charm, winding roads, rolling hills, and amazing wine. You'll travel in a Mercedes Sprinter van and friendly local guide with a maximum of 10 people. Sample the wines and soak in the ambiance at three award-winning wineries (tasting fee not included.) Tour is 4.5 hours, leaving at 1:30, returning at 6 pm.

If you like wine, I highly recommend this tour. We had a fun day with David, our excellent tour guide! He took us to two wineries outside of the city and a wine tasting room that was in a cute area with other restaurants, breweries, and food trucks. David not only gave general recommendations to our group but he wrote down personal recommendations for each individual - a very nice touch. He’s great at his job and will make sure you enjoy your time on the tour.

A must do tour especially if you are into wine but it was so much more. Kelty was an amazing guide full of knowledge and great tips and recommendations for all things Austin. Highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide, Kelty, was amazing and we had such a fun experience! Our first wine tour on a bus, it was fun listening to the history; wine tasting times were booked for us when we arrived and there was also a short tour of Duchman. On the way home we listened to a playlist that our group put together and had fun singing along. Overall, just a wonderful experience!

We had an awesome afternoon traveling to 3 different award winning wineries outside of Austin. Comfortable vehicle and our guide,Ike , was absolutely the best host sharing advice on the best places for music and food in Austin. Our little group were best friends by the time we got back !

Out of the 3 wineries we toured, the first 2 were really nice. The 3rd wasn’t even a winery- it was a wine bar with wine tastings. It was at a place called the Yard. It was not a very nice place. It was more for 20 something crowd. We tried to get a quick bite to eat and they only had a variety of food trucks to get food. So because of that, I won’t be taking a wine tour any time soon.

Amazing and surprising wine tour in Texas. We visited 3 wineries and each had at least one or two very drinkable varietals. Our guide, Ike, was great and very informative. The trip was extra fun since we were accompanied by a group of college seniors on spring break! So FUN!

I had such a great time on the Half Day Hill Country Wine Tour. The tour was way more fun than I expected and felt relaxed, engaging, and well organized. Our guide, Evan Ford, was outstanding. He masterfully managed a group of complete strangers, and by the end of the tour we felt like family, complete with our own inside jokes. Evan’s enthusiasm really stood out, and he came across as genuine and authentic. It never felt like he was trying to sell us on anything. He took the time to get to know each of us, remembered everyone’s names, offered snacks and water, and shared personalized suggestions for other things to do in Austin.
Each winery was unique and memorable. One offered a great view of the Hill Country, while another included a mini tour of the wine making process, which added a great educational touch. As a fun bonus, we even got to see a longhorn along the way. Overall, this tour exceeded my expectations, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

A great tour through Austin's nearby wineries. The guide, Joey, was super knowledgeable and gave everyone individual recommendations on what to check out in the city based on our personality. Wineries had pretty decent wines - based on the ones we went to, I'd recommend sticking to drier whites. If you like bold reds, it might be a pass. If you're just looking for some fun and drinks (with a DD) this would be perfect.

Travelers should know that the wines available on this excursion are 90% dry, so if you like sweeter wines like my guest and me, you will be very disappointed about the wine tasting at the 3 locations. The 1st stop was the only one with a sweet wine. My regret was that I did not purchase a bottle. I thought the sweet wine selections would get better as the your continued. That did not happen.
