The perfect afternoon
We had a fantastic afternoon! Captain Spencer is just amazing! He kept us entertained with all his knowledge of the area. Everything from booking, to the tour beginning and finishing was organized and friendly. Just can’t say enough about our captain and our enjoyable tour.

Incredible experience
One of the best tours we had we had an incredible time. The views were absolutely stunning.as the sun dipped below the horizon. Our tour guide Jesus was very friendly and knowledgeable sharing interesting facts about the area. Highly recommend this tour.

Incredible Bats!
This was such a wonderful way to kick off our quick stop in Austin before our morning flight! The bats were absolutely incredible to see. The tour felt relaxed and intimate—there weren’t too many people on the water, so it almost felt like a private experience. Highly recommend!

October bats & skyline
Beautiful evening to go kayaking and experience the bat flight. Ethan did a great job sharing information about the bats, Austin skyline, and Lady Bird Lake. Austin info was interesting since we were visiting from out of state and this was our only evening in town.
As for the bats, wow! We are at the end of season and were warned there may not be as many bats since they are starting to migrate. Afterwards we were told that it was a very large (almost full) group that flew out. Upwards to 1.5 million bats is hard to comprehend! It was spectacular and skin crawling at the same time! I was definitely happier to be on the water towards the back of our group rather than closer to being under the bridge or standing on the bridge where the bats fly past. The only negative was not being able to hear Ethan’s comments leading up to the fly out. I was able to listen to another tour guide closer to me.
Kayaking back afterwards beneath the skyline lights and a beautiful night sky was fantastic and not nearly long enough! Beautiful way to end the evening.

Exceeded expectations
You really couldn’t ask for more. Our boat driver was hilarious and made sure everyone got to experience anything requested. The views and music were amazing, the boat was very comfortable and if you ask him to speed up, it’s a lot of fun. I’d recommend to anyone who wants to experience Lake Travis.

Bat education and beauty
Knowledgeable guides paddle with you to the Congress St., Bridge to see the bats take flight. You have to get past the launch point which on the lake has a lot of muck. Once you were past the muck, the lake is amazing with few currents to interfere with paddling. I learned it so much about the bats, why they come, where they go when they leave, and what their routine is from the scouts who make sure everything is safe to the stragglers who stay behind all year. I also learned about the benefits that bats provide us by eating bugs and producing guano that preserves crops. I had no idea they were so beneficial. I also learned about the discrimination bats have endured over the years and why they are protected species. There’s a healthy heap of Austin history in the tour too. If I were to improve the tour at all, I would give headsets to everyone, so the guides could be heard without paddling alongside them. But this way also gives the option of paddling up close or going behind or a little ahead for a quieter experience. Guides had a great personality and I would absolutely do this again.

Great way to see Austin that isn't long lines or exhausting! Relaxing and so fun!
Our second time taking this tour and just as fabulous as the first! Wonderful way to see a different version of Austin and its nature! Relaxing and very entertaining. Spencer was our boat captain both times and he did 10/10! Tons of history and knowledge of the area mixed with wildlife. He makes the experience so great!

Fun first time kayaking
It was me and my friends first time kayaking and we got off to a rough start. Our guide stayed with us until we got the hang of it. It’s great how everyone can go at their own pace so you can venture off to be alone with your person or take pictures. I recommend you take a camera that works well in low lighting. You will get wet from the waist down, but not soaking.
