The owners daughter was our guide and she was VERY KNOWLEDGABLE, FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE!!! Great fun!! Highly recommended!!
I am usually never disappointed with Viator recommendations, but I was on this one. The bus is so creepy and in such poor shape. You wonder how it even operates.
On the other hand, Our guide Jason was great! Very knowledgeable of his city and had a lot of anecdotes about Austin’s history.
Great experience in the areas I think that They have a lot to offer in information about the Austin Tx Areas
An excellent beginner level overview of Austin’s best sites and history! Our tour guide was awesome!
We did the double decker bus on 8/3/2026. This was a good tour experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny at times. Unfortunately, I am terrible with names, but he was a pretty young guy in a cowboy hat. We chose to sit up top, despite the August heat and brutal sun. He stood up there with us the whole time, giving good information and history about Austin and Texas in general. We saw the famous library, the university, the South Congress area, the capitol building, and some suggestions for food & shopping. The bus driver and bud ride was safe and steady. They also warned us when the tree branches were coming which was appreciated. The only thing was the time was a little short of what was said in the tour ad, but we didn't really mind because of the heat. Meeting point at the Visitor's center was easy to find and a nice shop to walk through afterward. It's also conveniently located across from a parking garage, but beware it was almost 100% full when we arrived at 11am.
For the most part, an enjoyable tour. Until a political comment about erasing Texas’ history in being part of the Confederacy. For those of us who have deep southern roots, we have Confederate roots in our family trees. You erase that, you erase our ancestors. We can erase history or learn from it so it doesn’t get repeated. Seems to me option #2 is the better choice. You choose to veer away from just facts and voice political comments on a tour, you run the risk of offending your clients. Offended clients don’t tip.
Very interesting and knowledgeable tour . Great tour guide. Beautiful city to visit. Would definitely recommend
Very interesting tour. You should do the tour before exploring Austin since they tell you all the places to go to. The guide was very knowledgeable and funny.
Wonderful trip, we have lived in Austin for 50 years, celebrated our 44 anniversary with you. We have done Hop On Hop off in NYC in Vegas and Galveston. All very educational and informative. Your trip was the start of a great day. We were surprised at all the things we did not know.
This tour was very interesting! We learned a lot about the history of Austin, the bat colony, and were given fabulous tips on restaurants. The only downside was the heat. Take this tour EARLY in the morning or in the evening, if it is offered. Bring sunscreen!
We had a great time on the Double Decker Austin Tour! It was a fun and informative way to see the city and learn about Austin’s history. The guide was engaging, and the tour was well worth it. We would definitely recommend it!
Fun, informative, great way to get to know the different areas of Austin. The staff were friendly, from the ones at the office/store to the ones at the bus. The store is a really cute one.
The tour guide was funny and really friendly. The tour wasn’t long and the atmosphere was very nice.
We are so glad we took the early slot for this tour. Just know that in Texas it’s extremely hot. Wear a hat and bring water.
Fun and interesting things for all. We enjoyed it very much.
Everything was great. My husband and I enjoy everything. We will definitely recommend others to come
Fun and informative! A very good eye view of the downtown Austin. I have a better understanding of its history. I was able to focus on what to visit. I love that the bus tour included highlights of the UT Austin campus. I especially loved the SOCO!
Excellent way to gain your bearings and get some insight into places to visit. Guide was excellent and very funny. Suncream is a must if on upper deck.
Very informative business tour which I learned a lot. Bring a Yetti with cool water if its hot outside.
This was such a fun experience. We got to sit on the top of the bus which made for a fun ride. We could see the enire city and view from above tgat you wouldn't get otherwise. The tour guide was very informative of the history of the city and places to hang out and to eat. I would recommed doing this as the first thing when you come into the city so you can get the lay of the land and really decide on the activites you'd like to do.
The guide was knowledgeable and I enjoyed his humor.
Overall, it was a good tour. Hot! I’d recommend wearing sun screen, because it took no time at all for me to get burnt to a crisp!!
Entertaining and informative
The guide shared additional information about Texas. I would like to do the longer one next time.
We enjoyed our tour around downtown Austin. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. It was a great way to see the Capitol, UT, SOCO and other sites.
Take a hat during the summer!! It is a fun and interesting tour of Austin. Tour guides are entertaining and have lots of history to share, which is always great!
Our bus tour of Austin was the highlight of our weekend! Being able to sit on the top deck, seeing SO many sights and learning the history behind them, being entertained and taught by our very knowledgeable and entertaining guide, Chad -
a 10/10 experience and we loved every minute of it!
Will definitely recommend to friends in Austin, and visitors!
The experience for my family was great. The guide show us the most important places at downtown and we knew the history of the city.
Very informative tour. The tour guide was personable and engaging. The bus was clean and plenty of water! That was a good thing as it was very hot on the tour. The tour gave us a really good start to our visit in Austin.
Great introduction to Downtown Austin. The guide was knowledgeable and witty, and made the tour much more interesting.
Amazing amazing experience! Worth every dime. You make me have a different perspective on tourism. A must do every time you are in a new city and the tour conductor/ speaker brought everything to live. Loved listening to him and watching him he was hilarious!!! Had everyone cracking up!
My first trip to Austin and I chose to take a Waymo to the tour. My Waymo got stuck in my hotel parking lot for 12 minutes until I got someone to remotely drive it to the street. That meant I was running late and I called this company but got voice mail. I was afraid I'd miss the tour, but as we arrived the apparent owner of the voice mailbox was chuckling as I pulled up. He heard the message even though I left it just 7 minutes before!!
The tour was awesome! The tour guide Alex involved the group with questions as he explained the sites all along the trip.
I tried to map the tour so I could grab another if it missed anything and this tour really encompassed everything about downtown Austin.
I really enjoyed it. The only downside was that I didn't take their advice to put on their provided sunscreen.
Super fun. Beautiful sights. The tour guide was super funny. Very knowledgeable. Would 100% do it again.
