We did the double decker bus on 8/3/2026. This was a good tour experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny at times. Unfortunately, I am terrible with names, but he was a pretty young guy in a cowboy hat. We chose to sit up top, despite the August heat and brutal sun. He stood up there with us the whole time, giving good information and history about Austin and Texas in general. We saw the famous library, the university, the South Congress area, the capitol building, and some suggestions for food & shopping. The bus driver and bud ride was safe and steady. They also warned us when the tree branches were coming which was appreciated. The only thing was the time was a little short of what was said in the tour ad, but we didn't really mind because of the heat. Meeting point at the Visitor's center was easy to find and a nice shop to walk through afterward. It's also conveniently located across from a parking garage, but beware it was almost 100% full when we arrived at 11am.

For the most part, an enjoyable tour. Until a political comment about erasing Texas’ history in being part of the Confederacy. For those of us who have deep southern roots, we have Confederate roots in our family trees. You erase that, you erase our ancestors. We can erase history or learn from it so it doesn’t get repeated. Seems to me option #2 is the better choice. You choose to veer away from just facts and voice political comments on a tour, you run the risk of offending your clients. Offended clients don’t tip.

Wonderful trip, we have lived in Austin for 50 years, celebrated our 44 anniversary with you. We have done Hop On Hop off in NYC in Vegas and Galveston. All very educational and informative. Your trip was the start of a great day. We were surprised at all the things we did not know.

This tour was very interesting! We learned a lot about the history of Austin, the bat colony, and were given fabulous tips on restaurants. The only downside was the heat. Take this tour EARLY in the morning or in the evening, if it is offered. Bring sunscreen!

Fun, informative, great way to get to know the different areas of Austin. The staff were friendly, from the ones at the office/store to the ones at the bus. The store is a really cute one.

Fun and informative! A very good eye view of the downtown Austin. I have a better understanding of its history. I was able to focus on what to visit. I love that the bus tour included highlights of the UT Austin campus. I especially loved the SOCO!

This was such a fun experience. We got to sit on the top of the bus which made for a fun ride. We could see the enire city and view from above tgat you wouldn't get otherwise. The tour guide was very informative of the history of the city and places to hang out and to eat. I would recommed doing this as the first thing when you come into the city so you can get the lay of the land and really decide on the activites you'd like to do.

Overall, it was a good tour. Hot! I’d recommend wearing sun screen, because it took no time at all for me to get burnt to a crisp!!

My first trip to Austin and I chose to take a Waymo to the tour. My Waymo got stuck in my hotel parking lot for 12 minutes until I got someone to remotely drive it to the street. That meant I was running late and I called this company but got voice mail. I was afraid I'd miss the tour, but as we arrived the apparent owner of the voice mailbox was chuckling as I pulled up. He heard the message even though I left it just 7 minutes before!!
The tour was awesome! The tour guide Alex involved the group with questions as he explained the sites all along the trip.
I tried to map the tour so I could grab another if it missed anything and this tour really encompassed everything about downtown Austin.
I really enjoyed it. The only downside was that I didn't take their advice to put on their provided sunscreen.

Great mini tour of Austin and its history. There’s a lot to see and this tour helped pinpointed a few spots for us.
Delphine_P, Jun 2026
The Austin visitor center is located near a public parking, which is free on Saturdays across from Frost Bank parking. The center is very welcoming. It has a gift shop and very nice staff clean bathrooms while you wait for the bus. The bus left on time at 10 o’clock. The weather was cloudy so we decided to on top, we were offered a water. The staff on the bus were very nice and our guide was extremely knowledgeable.. The guide was concise with his information, told funny stories, and also very interesting stories about the well-known buildings and statues and oil, rigs and etc. stories about people pertaining to the Neighborhoods we were traveling through at the time. Our guide was funny, spoke clearly and used good grammar(!) It was very well done, entertaining, informative. Plus full of recommendations for visiting well-known sites, such as Lady Bird, Johnson, wild flowerPark , music venues, Barton springs, the Capital, and good recommendations on barbecue restaurants and Mexican restaurants, etc.
The 90 minutes tour bus was a very enjoyable and memorable experience. Many thanks!
