This was a fantastic trip! Each stage felt smooth and unrushed, Mia was an absolutely brilliant tour guide and the inclusion of lunch and the boat ride is great value.

The passion and expertise of our tour guide Miguel truly elevated this amazing experience. The views on this trip are also stunning!

Lovely, beautiful day out. The coach was very hot though! About 1hr 45 from Porto We had a fabulous guide Miguel who was fantastic. River cruise was great and great to see the vineyards

It was a rocking good time. Igor really killed it with moves for days. Props to the driver, those were some narrow roads. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Douro Valley tour was a waste of my time. We rode the bus for 2 hours going and 2 hours coming back with no narration from Americo. When he did , his heavy accent was almost impossible to understand. The Port Wine tasting was 2 stops each 10 minutes then a tour of the facility with another guide with another heavy accent, difficult to understand.
The boat ride on the Douro River was pleasant and quiet, because once again there was no narration explaining what we were seeing. We met the tour at 9:30am at the Lapa Church in Porto. Americo was 30 minutes late, we never visited the church. 10 hours later we returned to the church.

This is a great tour with excellent tour guide and driver. I enjoyed the river cruise and wine tour very much. The whole tour was filled with great joy, except the lunch was only so so. Our tour guide Milena was very energetic, humerous and knowledgeable. I appreciated she gave us various photo stops at great views.

The Tour was great. The day started off with the worst disorganized set up we have ever seen. We were 20 minutes early for the meet time at the right location. We waited until a few tour reps showed up and there were enough people for four tours at the designated meet up point. We asked every tour rep whether we were on there list with no as the answer. After 30 minutes of mass confusion, I got a phone call saying go to the bus. I said "which bus" since there were four. Finally we were directed to the right bus. What a mess.

Excellent full day trip!
Very knowledgeable and passionate tour guide Miguel!
Tour starts with about 1.5 hour bus drive but the scenery is amazing so never boring! We then had a 50 minute boat tour along the river Douro again through amazing scenery of the vineyards on the hillside. Next stop a winery tour and tasting. Then another drive to lunch - 3 courses and a good supply of wine! Followed by another port tasting session. Consequently the bus drive home was a quieter affair - lots of snoozing going on!!

This tour was exceptional, our Tour Guide, Igor, and Mr White the chauffeur were great company. Igor was very knowledgeable and We got to have the full Portuguese experience with great music, plenty of information and even singing in the bus! The Douro valley is stunning and it was amazing to see the slopes with the vineyards and the river Douro, sample the different types of port and enjoy a great lunch It was a day I will never forget.
Igor made sure we had the best experience throughout the whole tour.
I highly recommend this excursion

Had amazing tour guides and a lovely time. Highly recommend. I am forgetting their names, but I had two female guides and they were so fun and informative. Loved the vineyards we went to and the lunch we had was good

We had an absolutely wonderful experience on our tour with Melina! From the very beginning, she was friendly, funny, organized, and incredibly knowledgeable. She communicated everything clearly, made the entire experience enjoyable, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. You can tell she genuinely cares about what she does. We’re so grateful for such a fantastic experience and would highly recommend touring the Douro Valley with them!

Great way to experience the Duoro! Our guide was super knowledgeable, warm and kind. The driver was excellent. The views were magnificent!

Every wine has a back story and this tour captures that! The history, breathtaking views and delicious wines, this was an amazing day. Miguel our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the valley. Would recommend to tour to anyone coming to Porto
Marisol_A, May 2026
The Duomo Valley is a beautiful area. However, most of the ten hours were spent on the bus. We did not go to any of the majestic farms that are seen from the road. Instead, the first tasting was done in a small room by the train station and the second one was on a large facility that stored all wines. The guide did not set up a proper mood for such a long day, and provided none to little information about the area and the process of growing and harvesting grapes and turning them into wine. It made for a very long and tiring day and not worth the price and time spent.
KEVIN_M, May 2026
Miguel has an amazing knowledge about wine and it’s production, and the bus driver did an excellent job

A terrific experience from beginning to end. Albano & Igor Kept us safe, educated, and entertained. We had a fabulous day.
Note: Many of us on the trip misread the information and thought this was a 4 hour tour mostly on a boat. Read the description carefully. It’s a 10-hour day.
I highly recommend it as the wineries were interesting, the ride was beautiful, and the boat tour was a lovely end to the trip before heading back to Porto.

Fantastic full day trip we would definitely recommend to everyone visiting Porto. Picked up at accommodation by the lovely Maria (M) who's personality shone and made the day even more fabulous! She was so knowledgable and gave us so much information in a fun and engaging way, in excellent English. Whole day through from the drive to the river trip, lunch and wine tasting was planned and executed so well we were truly looked after by everyone involved in the day at each stop and left with a lot of new knowledge not only about the Dourou Valley, Port, and wine but also Porto and the lovely Portuguese. Day made even better by the great group of people we were with from Canada and USA.

Well organized, minimal walking, and well worth the price! Flavio was an excellent guide. The Santa Marta wine tasting and tour plus the river cruise was the highlight! The second stop at Touriga was nice, but would’ve been better if they had some bread/snacks to accompany the wine like they did at the first tasting. We felt like the 3 course plated lunch could have been simplified and the cost/time could’ve gone towards charcuterie at the second wine tasting.

Everything is amazing!!!
You will love the wine tasting and the boat ride. Also, the wine barrels are huge, very nice.
Yvette_P, May 2026
It was an amazing experience. It was my first time traveling solo in Portugal. The guide was funny so knowledgeable and made me feel safe. I was able to meet really nice people on this trip. It’s a memory I will never forget.
Ebony_R, May 2026
You absolutely should book this tour. It's a wonderful way to spend the day seeing the beautiful Douro valley area. Our tour guide was funny and gave us lots of history. No need to look further. Book it!
Fayola_F, May 2026
Wonderful experience in the Douro Valley. Milena was an excellent guide, friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. Great experience for the entire family from baby to grandparents.
Natalie_S, May 2026
This tour was a great opportunity to taste some good port wine that is only made in this area of Portugal. It is important to note that the itinerary listed on Viator was not in the correct order and we didn’t end up eating lunch until 2:30, which meant a lot of us on the tour were very hungry as we thought we would eat earlier.
Besides this, both wine tasting were very good and you got to see the process behind the production at both locations. The bus ride was comfortable. The boat tour was okay but it was a little long and it was just a ride down and back for 50 minutes, not an informational session about the river. This was relaxing but I would have liked some information or a little more excitement.
Overall not a bad tour and we had lots of fun tasting the wines and taking in the views of the valley.

A lovely day-long activity. Small group perfect size for the trip from Porto to Duoro Valley. Only wish NO small children had been on the trip and that we had actual more wine tastings. The tastings were rushed. Only 2 places for tastings and only two small samples at Kope and three small samples and tiny tiny olive oil sample not enough bread for the group at Caves (storage facility & vineyards) Santamarta. We also ate there. Lunch wasn't until about 2 or 230 pm. It was just okay. They provided water there. We left our hotel at 7 am that morning. The first wine tasting no water provided. The boat ride as chilly for us (in mid-May) so bring a scarf or sweater and while a pleasant 45 minutes up and then back the same way was disappointing. No tour, no idea of what we were passing other than vineyards, which was okay but no great. Went very fast on way up and slower on way back down the river. Very very small boat and no real opportunity to get up to walk around. We were lucky to be seated in front area outside but if we has been stuck inside or near the several small children who were loud it would have been very disappointing. Thankfully we're were not. Wished to have sat outside in the back but all the children were there. Milena the guide was excellent, however she WAS NOT on the boat and did her best otherwise to keep the families with children away from the rest of us. The group was 24 in all i think. And about 8 were families. The small bus perfectly driven and easy to maneuver to feel safe on small roads. The wine was excellent. The prices at the winery shops incredibly high. The tour guide at each stop at the vineyards second stop stantamaria very difficult to hear and while there she tells the group she is ill and had the flu but still able to give the tour. Not ideal. We are on weeks of travel and truly do not want to be exposed to the flu. Regardless the view was lovely, but did not really go very far into much but learned some about storage. Tips, bring a water bottle, and if your guide is Milena you will be given time to use the bathrooms.

A lot of time on the bus, mainly because it is far away. Our guide Michael kept us cheerful and with good music on board. Save your wallets for the 2nd winery, the Port is much better there. Would still recommend.
Jane_A, May 2026
A great way to experience the beautiful countryside outside of Porto and to hear about and sample the wonderful port wines.
Our guide Igor was so friendly and knowledgeable with a great sense of humour which added immensely to the trip.
The trip includes a lovely lunch with plenty of wine drinking opportunity and an afternoon river cruise to appreciate the scenery and the many vineyard farms.
