Joe was amazing guide! His recommendations for restaurants after the tour are top notch. The electric bike is definitely the way to cover a lot of ground in this hilly city. Highly recommend as a 1st tour to get your bearings in the city.

Unsafe and undertrained

Glenn_L, Jun 2026
It was great until it wasn't. Fernando led a brief overview of the bikes and off we went. His explanations at the stops were super. I'm an experienced cyclist, but my wife is not. We stayed toward the back. I noticed a rider behind us all the time, but she was not introduced by Fernando or wearing clothing associated with the company. It was only when I asked her that she told me she was "learning to do tours." Fernando stopped frequently to gather up the group...for the first 2 hours. Then things changed. After a stop at Crystal Palace, we began to descend a VERY steep hill that is in a neighborhood. Porto is very hilly. The group soon disappeared out of sight because the road was winding. We stopped, and our trainee said she didn't know where the group was going. I decided to descend the remaining amount while they waited. I descended the remaining 1/3 of the hill and the group was nowhere in sight. I turned around to head back up to where my wife and the trainee were waiting, but the hill was too steep for the Ebike to provide any power assistance. I pushed my bike back up to meet them. The trainee wasn't sure what to do. We decided to keep going up the hill, but had to push our bikes. We got to a less steep section, and I had to run and push start the trainee and my wife, and we ascended the remainder of the hill. The trainee wasn't able to pedal all the way up because she "had been on 6 tours today and was exhausted." I asked her if she had the leader's number, and she did not. She called the company, and they put her in touch with the leader. We sat for about 20 minutes while she tried to explain where we were waiting. The group flew back by about a block over, and we raced to catch up. We were lucky to even see them. When we gathered, there was no greeting or apology for dropping us. About 10 minutes later, the group dropped us again, and the trainee still didn't know where we were going. At this point, I was done. I told the trainee I was mapping the way to the bike shop, and she was welcome to join us if she wished. All of these people are in a foreign country. The communication was poor. The expectations if there was separation was not communicated. The trainee was undersupported and undertrained. This is a very busy city with lots of traffic. This business' practices are unprofessional and unsafe.

Very Enjoyable

Very fun. Sofia led us safely through the city. Some road biking. The e bikes were easy to learn to use and worked well on hills! We saw so many things in a few short hours. My favorite tour so far!

Igor was a fantastic guide. Very friendly, knowledgeable, professional and helpful. The itinerary was an excellent introduction to Porto. The sites we visited deserve days of exploration and now we feel prepared to continue our sightseeing on foot. We are glad we did the tour on a Sunday morning which is a relatively low traffic time because there was a lot of traffic even at this time. The bikes worked well and are definitely the most efficient way of getting around the city given the hills and traffic.

Honest review

Abbey_A, May 2026
I believe it is important to explain an experience with honesty. I did feel like we were able to see some very beautiful spots, but unfortunately, the group was far too large for this experience to be enjoyable. The route is very busy with lots of construction. Having 12 bikers plus the guide was very difficult. At times, it was quite stressful, especially when the group continued to be separated by cars. For reference, my husband and I are ages late 20s/early 30s. My husband and I had booked the private tour weeks in advance but the night before our paid tour we were told there wasn’t availability for the private tour, so we had to join the group tour. The company did offer to refund us the difference in price which I appreciated. I think this experience could be very enjoyable if the group size was much smaller. Other bikers on tour with us expressed the same sentiment. I imagine this tour is in high demand, but 12 people to one guide on these busy streets is not ideal nor safe in my opinion.

Do this on your first day!

Shane_M, May 2026
First time here, take this tour! You will not regret it. You get to see a lot of sites that you can come back to on a walk.

Porto by Bike

Kenneth_B, May 2026
Sofia was our guide and did a terrific job of giving us the history of Porto. The difficult thing is Porto is not a city that lends itself to easy biking. The. Traffic was very heavy (even on Saturday) and the foot traffic was intense especially along the river front. We had to walk our bikes at various times. It may have been the fact that FC Porto had a game that night and there was also an anniversary ceremony at the Main Cathedral for the federal police, and a concert. Beautiful sites, great commentary from Sofia, but congestion makes it tough to ride.

The best 3 hours you’ll spend in Porto!

Sarah_S, Apr 2026
This was one of the hi-lights of our stay in Porto. ‘John’ was an absolutely brilliant guide who was incredibly passionate about his city. We saw many sights we wouldn’t have seen otherwise and covered a lot! The bikes were a dream to ride and made all the hills very easy to cycle up. Porto is an incredible city and this was well worth doing. ‘John’ (João) used to be a journalist photographer and took us to some great spots for amazing views and even took a few photos too! We can’t pinpoint one thing as the best as it was all an amazing experience and one we wouldn’t have seen definitely recommend.

Great city e-bike tour

Anita_A, Apr 2026
This is a great tour on e-bikes as you get to see so many city high lights in a short , easy and fun way. Our English speaking guide -Timothy P was great ( he works weekends).

The way to see Porto

Rachel_P, Apr 2026
Thank you Joao (John) for a great day pedaling with an assist around the city. Fantastic way to see the city of Porto. The highlight was Joao showing us the inner walls and stairs of the Ribeiro neighborhood. Loved seeing everything and hearing about different areas to poke around. Dying to come back to this place now. Truly. Only suggestion: would love to see them occasionally remind us to turn the bike back on after stops and ensure it stays in Turbo mode. Def helps!

Fun biking in Porto

Fantastic Ebike tour of Porto

Ninad_S, Apr 2026
This was a great fun way to see this beautiful city. Our guide Igor was awesome. Clear instructions and guidance for this Ebike tour. The information he provided during the stops regarding the history of Porto was succinct and very interesting. Our two kids, aged 11 and 13, had an amazing time.

What an amazing bike tour of Porto! Our guide, Miguel, did a terrific job! We throughly enjoyed all aspects of this experience!

Amazing trip.

Seyed_S, Apr 2026
Everything was great. Miguel was amazing. he gave us a lot of great information and he was extremely pleasant.

Could be safer

Darcy_G, Apr 2026
Great way to explore the city. Bikes had no bells which were a necessity on the narrow paths and sidewalks with pedestrians. At times guide failed to give adequate Notice of route for entire group that was spread out which led to safety issues.

Excellent tour

alan_c, Apr 2026
We had a fabulous tour with Fernando. He was very patient and gave a good talk at each stop about the area and the history of Porto. The bicycles were good with no issues , one small thing , only some of the bikes had a bell, it would have been handy as sometimes there are a lot of pedestrians to contend with The tour was a very good route , showing us a lot of Porto. Overall a fantastic tour 10/10 Thanks Fernando.
