This was an excellent afternoon activity! You learn a lot about port and the various types and get to taste 7 very different wines over a very short distance - it was a great experience, a lot of fun, and perfect for a rainy day! Our guide, Nuno, was also very funny and made it a lot of fun

Beautiful garden at the finish.

good self guided tour, but the app malfunctioned many times on a persons phone, so it made the self-guided portion to the point we just turned it off. The highlight was the lovely garden at the end. They poured samples of 3 ports. Complete with a personnel. well educated person to explain each one. This made the very steep walk up the hill from the river worth while. So be ready for a very strenuous hike to get there. Or hire a cab.

It's our first time in Porto and hopefully wouldn't be our last. I highly recommend this tour 10/10. The people from Oporto Road Trips were very swift with communicating with me regarding changes in the itinerary. They provided clear information about our driver, plate number / type of car and all information for pick up/drop off. Our driver / tour guide, Marcio, was very prompt and arrived at 8:05 am for hotel pick up and got us back exactly at 5:30 pm, which was mentioned in the itinerary. He drove us to a quaint town, Amarante to see the church, views of the river and the little town. He then drove us to 3 different wineries that included a sommelier educating us about the history / wine production, diff kinds of wines and we were also asked to enter an old wine barrel if we liked! We also went to a restaurant for a traditional portuguese lunch that included red / white wine, espresso, meat marinated with port wine, lamb with potatoes/carrots, beans and sausage and white rice. The boat tour was amazing as well, the views are stunning! A must see. He was also very knowledgable about the city of Porto, Villa Real, Amarante, Douro and he was also able to show us some sceneries for good photography spots. He also drove us safely and smoothly throughout!!

Excellent choice

Rui S, was our tour guide. He was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the history of the area and Portugal overall. The van was comfortable and Rui’s commentary and sense of humour drew together the group of 8 strangers. We would highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic way to get a...

Fantastic way to get a sense of the Douro Valley’s beauty, history and wineries in a “half day” experience (which really felt like a full day value with well over six hours included). This “wine valley” experience was a great way to involve our kids as well, with a tour of the old olive oil production facility and tastings that included olive oil, honey and almonds. The wine at d’origem was also delicious, with four different tastings for the afternoon. Our guide Alex was knowledgeable and kind and offered us fascinating history throughout the day about towns in the valley, the growing and wine-making process and types, and the natural landscape. Lunch at a delicious local restaurant and incredible views of the terraced hills and valleys the entire day made this one of our absolute favorite days in Portugal!

Wonderful experience

Beautiful experience from start to finish. Captain sailed us to the old town down to the Luis Bridge then to the sea wall close to the Atlantic. Sara was knowledgeable not only with the area but the 3 port wines which we sampled. They provide crackers cheese and meats to snack as well as a lovely piece of dark chocolate. They also gave us blankets as it was a bit chilly in the wind. Bathrooms on board and the vessel is beautiful. Small tour of only 7 total passengers which made it more intimate. Sara even helped us by providing recommendations of where to eat close to the marina and other parts of Porto.

Loved it!! The small...

Loved it!! The small group was great. Lots of great information. Loved the river and winery tours. Especially loved all the wine and port tastings. At the lunch, would have been nice to have a table with a better view rather than stuck in a back corner especially considering the tables with better views were available to whole time we were there.

Great tour to the wine region with an excellent guide!

Loved our day trip to the Duora Valley from Porto! Our guide, Juliana, was excellent! She had a GREAT sense of humor and kept making us laugh. She was a great driver and really gave us the perfect amount of historical facts along the way. The vineyards we went to were diverse and excellent, and the lunch was particularly good. Everything about the day was lovely and special. Highly recommend!

Great day from start to finish!

We were very kindly picked up and enjoyed an informative journey to the first place. We had loads of time at each time stop, and enough wine to intoxicate a small horse! We were accommodated as vegans really well too, had a nice lunch. Best wines i’ve actually ever had and i don’t really even like wine, thanks guys!
