This was such a fun experience! Our head chef, Teresa, immediately set the tone for a class field with cooking tips and lots of laughs. She was an absolute joy and helped us through what was one of my favorite things to do in Porto.
The class allows time for both cooking as well as socializing. The drinks were delicious as well. This is a fun diversion when you are tired of walking the hills! The shop is located on an adorable street with lots of fun things to buy. I can't wait to attempt my own pastel de natas!

This was hands down the most fun we had in Porto! 🇵🇹
We went as a group of girls, but there were also two couples and a family in the workshop, which made it such a lovely atmosphere.
Everyone got involved, taking turns with different parts of the recipe, and we each made three pastel de nata to take home in a box. We were flying home the next day, so we kept them in the hotel fridge overnight and took them back for our families to try. They all said they were the best pastel de nata they’d ever tasted!
You also get to take home a copy of the recipe, so you can recreate them yourself.
As if that wasn’t enough, there was plenty of red or white port and tonic throughout the class, and our teacher was absolutely lovely. He made the whole experience so much fun.
I couldn’t recommend this workshop more if you’re visiting Porto

What a great time!!! Mike and Rachel kept us hopping with great info., jokes, background and helpful tips. My adult son and myself did this and enjoyed eating and reminiscing as much after the class. Thank you for being a highlight of my 1st European adventure!

This is a top experience.
One of the highlights of our holiday.
Rachel and Theresa were very special and positive with all of us.
So good that the kitchen could accommodate me with my gluten free allergy - this was amazing.
So much fun.

Our family never did a baking/cooking class in another country and it might be our new thing! First Pastel de Nata are delicious and learning to bake them was a wonderful hands on activity for our trip! Teresa and Mike were fabulous and their studio is so chic and spacious. Mike was a wonderful teacher and would make jokes, include everyone all the while giving us the history of this wonderful pastry and of course teaching us how to prepare it! I would highly recommend this place!

A must do while in Porto. This class was super fun and accessible to people of all ages. They provide step by step instructions and a recipe to take home. We loved Rui and Ana. They were very knowledgable, fun and provided lots of great information both about Pastel de Nata and Porto in general.

We had a fantastic time with Rui and Anna! They did a superb job coaching us through the pastry making process, offering us not only the skills to make these delicious traditional treats but interesting insight into the history of the tarts. Very friendly and fun experience, highly recommend! It was the perfect amount of time for this unique experience.

Incredible experience! Would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves cooking, eating, or simply likes having a good time! Our chef named Rui gave us many useful tips and tricks. The process was smooth, the chef guided us, but let us experiment with the recipe, which was great. The Pastels de Nata were super tasty and had the perfect texture. Thus, the entirety of the experience was amazing and our Chef Rui made it even more enjoyable.

Absolutely loved this experience. The instructors—Luis and Ana—were very kind and they made sure to include everyone in a different step of the baking process. They also were informative about the history of pastel de nata and it was very interesting to learn that this pastery originated from leftover egg yolks in the monastery! The process of baking and eating the pastries at the end made the experience overall very rewarding and engaging at the same time and I would recommend this to anyone who loves eating pastel de nata and baking!

Lovely family experience. A bit of history and baking insights, with warm and friendly hosts. Also in a cool central area, so easy to make a morning / afternoon of it.

Our family of four, including our two kids, had such a wonderful time at the Pastel de Nata cooking class with Ana and Rui! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and created a fun, relaxed atmosphere that was perfect for both adults and children.
Ana and Rui were patient, knowledgeable, and did an excellent job explaining each step of the process while sharing the history and traditions behind Portugal's iconic pastry. They made the class interactive and engaging, and our kids loved getting hands on with the dough and filling. It was a great balance of learning, laughter, and, of course, enjoying some delicious freshly baked pastéis de nata.
What really stood out was how genuine and personable Ana and Rui were. We had great conversations throughout the class, and it felt like we were spending the afternoon with friends rather than simply attending a cooking lesson.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Porto and an experience our whole family will remember. If you're visiting Porto whether you're traveling as a couple, with friends, or as a family I highly recommend taking this class with Ana and Rui. Thank you both for such a memorable and enjoyable experience!

A perfect way to spend a hot morning in Porto. The staff communicated very well to change the location the day before to a more accommodating kitchen with air conditioning. While the new site was outside city center, catching an uber or bolt is extremely easy and affordable to avoid walking the hills in the heat.
The class was terrific and will be a core family memory for a long time. They provided compassionate instruction to our whole family, empowering our young teens to lead the family creating the best tasting Pasteis de Nata we had this entire trip! Thanks Terry and Ana for the wonderful experience!

I had an absolute blast doing the workshop, the teachers were so friendly and made the class so much fun. I went by myself and made some friends in the class. The best thing is I now know how to make delicious pastel de nata at home, so I can share these pastries with my friends at home. I would highly recommend this class to everyone!

A really fun and interesting experience. Learning the history and how to make pastel de nata. Very friendly and informative team.
Michael_O, Jun 2026
We both had a great time during the cooking class. We didn't book it until the day of and I have celiac disease. I told them at the start of the class and Luis was very lovely and said he wanted to make sure I got to experience trying the pastel de natas. So he asked his colleague Teressa to help me with making mine. Teressa was so kind and attentive. It was no trouble at all and she made it a really enjoyable experience. They tasted great! Thank you both for a great experience!
Joanne_H, Jun 2026
