This flexible journey on the water begins at a time and place that work best for you: Open tickets give you the freedom to hop aboard whichever vessel fits with your busy schedule, and boats leave from both Porto and Gaia.
Once aboard your vessel, choose between open-air or covered seating areas and get comfortable. You’ll set out at a leisurely pace, with time to admire the UNESCO-listed scenery of the Douro River (and perspectives that are impossible to see from the shore).
Get up close and personal with the six bridges that cross the Douro River. Enjoy views of the Eiffel-designed Ponte D. Maria Pia, the 19th-century Ponte Dom Luís I, the Ponte da Arrabida (which features one of the world’s largest concrete arches), the Ponte de Sao Joao (a key sight on the Porto skyline), the Ponte Infante Dom Henrique (the newest of the six bridges), and the Ponte do Freixo (the furthest upstream).
Finally, return to your original departure point roughly 1 hour after departing, with plenty of time to continue your sightseeing.

The boat ride we took in Porto was very good. We all enjoyed it. The organisers on the dock were very welcoming. On the boat the commentary was in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese and we could clearly hear it. Definitely recommend this trip.

The boat tour was nice to see the river and bridges. Was very confusing to convert voucher to a ticket. In the end, after some messages back and forth and going to the redemption point, we did not need
To get a ticket.
Also, hard to hear the narration on the outside deck.
Very fun, scenic and quiet ride with occasional automated information via French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. My only gripe is they honk occasionally and it's loud as fudge LOL.
The boat ride was very nice and pleasant! We had a great time. The boat manager also took pictures of our group so it was a fun little trip all in all.
Great with kids. Nice point of view. A nice way to discover the bridges and enjoy the city any times

A great use of 50 minutes to see Porto from the river and learn about the 6 bridges. Well worth the time and cost!
This was so easy to find and a beautiful way to see Porto! The bridges are gorgeous and being on the river looking up at the sights along the banks was relaxing and lovely! It was a perfect, quick way to prepare for a spritz!
We were not able to redeem the booking voucher for tickets because the tour office closed early. The booking stated that the voucher could be redeemed for any cruise on our booking date. It also stated that the last cruise on the river was at 8:30 pm.
We attempted to redeem the voucher at 6 pm, and the tour office was closed.
We should receive a full refund because it was not disclosed that vouchers must be redeemed before 6 pm.
We are very disappointed and would not recommend Viatour with this tour company.
Booked a couple of hours before using the ticket through Viator. Instructions to make our way to Ribeira. and a choice of two operators to take our ticket to, either Douro Acima or Tomaz do Douro. We chose the first but it was just the first one we came to.
Showed our ticket and were told to come back in half an hour and where to wait and we were booked on the next sailing cruise.
No hassle, simple to use.
Boat was great, no need for headphones, six bridge info was narrated over the speaker in two languages. Clear info on the bridges but not too much to overwhelm.
All in all a great boat ride. It is also cheaper to book in advance rather than at the quay side.

Enjoy views of Porto from the river. You can see all the bridges with their diverse structures from this vantage point. A quick but worth it ride.

A lovely, simple way to see Porto and its six iconic bridges from the water. Great value for money, especially if you’re looking for a shorter cruise rather than spending hours on a boat. Think of it more like a ferry experience shared with other passengers than a luxury cruise. That said, everyone gets a seat with a good view, making it a relaxing and enjoyable way to experience the city from the river. I would say this trip is kid friendly and appears to be suitable for people with accessibility issues.
Beautiful river cruise! Nothing extra about it except for the amazing views of both sides of the river. Nice perspective to see the wine companies but also the amazing landscape of Porto!
Interesting brief commentary - recorded in several languages. Cheaper on Viator than in person and once I found the correct boat very straight forward. As everyone said not a long boat ride - 50 minutes but the time was prefect for me as I was short of time and sat in the full sun. Would recommend.
Quick ride up and down the duoro. Fun to see the city from the river. Wish it was longer. But we still had a good time
This was a pleasurable experience and an informative tour to learn about the different bridges and their context in Porto’s history. Recommend for a light activity! Staff was friendly as well.
Great, short excursion. The recorded commentary gave facts and history of the bridges and significant buildings, provided in 4 languages. Sit near the front for unobstructed views.

Very disappointing!
This was a good tour for tired backs and sore feet from all the uphill walking in Porto. Whenever a city with a river offers a tour on the water, just do it, seeing the city from the water gives another perspective of it, and gives you a chance to rest, contemplate, and cool down.
50 minutes traveling up and down the Douro. Just enough time to get a little history of the bridges and great pictures of Porto and Gaia, while still along time to enjoy exploring the cities on our own.
Enjoyable boat tour but didn’t need to book in advance. There are multiple companies offering tours on both sides of the river at similar prices. Others seemed to have better commentary where this was limited. Still had a pleasant experience

The tour is a bit short and not very exciting. But I think that’s more of a reflection on the Porto scenery. But still worth it.
It was a great value for the experience. Could have been a bit clearer on the fact you can board from either side of the river, but can only get off in Gaia.
