Overview

Experience all of Porto’s bridges on this 50-minute cruise of Porto’s six bridges. Coast down the peaceful waters of the Douro River by boat as you see Porto to one side and Gaia to the other, and all of Porto’s stunning bridges connecting the two cities. You’ll quickly notice that no two bridges are alike, each with their own architecture and personality, making for stunning photo backdrops. Itinerary

This flexible journey on the water begins at a time and place that work best for you: Open tickets give you the freedom to hop aboard whichever vessel fits with your busy schedule, and boats leave from both Porto and Gaia.

Once aboard your vessel, choose between open-air or covered seating areas and get comfortable. You’ll set out at a leisurely pace, with time to admire the UNESCO-listed scenery of the Douro River (and perspectives that are impossible to see from the shore).

Get up close and personal with the six bridges that cross the Douro River. This tour is extensive enough to sail under all six, offering views of the Eiffel-designed Ponte D. Maria Pia, the 19th-century Ponte Dom Luís I, the Ponte da Arrabida (which features one of the world’s largest concrete arches), the Ponte de Sao Joao (a key sight on the Porto skyline), the Ponte Infante Dom Henrique (the newest of the six bridges), and the Ponte do Freixo (the furthest upstream).

Finally, return to your original departure point roughly 1 hour after departing, with plenty of time to continue your sightseeing.

The boat ride we took in Porto was very good. We all enjoyed it. The organisers on the dock were very welcoming. On the boat the commentary was in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese and we could clearly hear it. Definitely recommend this trip.

Great way to see Porto/Gaia from the water - amazing views! Beware, the voucher has an address that takes you to a building with no one there. Look for the sign close to the water across from the restaurants.

I bought a tour but I didn't receive the vouchers for using it, they couldn't support with tour operator and give me data to make it with the tour operator and I obliged to pay once more to buy the tour directly from provider. I claimed the refund as I didn't use the tour and related bought tickets but no refund and declared that it's impossible

Goldilocks length (1 hour), and you get views of 6 bridges and several interesting building in Porto and Villa Nova de Gaia. I’ve read some complaints re: the speaker not being able to be heard when you sit outside but on our boat. It was fine.

This experience is average at best. When you sit in the front of the boat, you cannot hear anything. There is a speaker but it’s only for people sitting inside. This experience would be so much better if there was a live person speaking and pointing out landmarks as we pass them.

Nice vibes, a simple ride, in the city center

I wanted to hear more about the city's history while on the boat, but you had to choose between being inside the boat and listening or being outside and taking in the views. Once you get to Porto, you will see a lot of different places offering boat trips on the river. I personally liked this company because it was casual. I got to walk up, they gave me a wait time, and since I came a little early, I just walked around the river before it was time. Overall, really enjoyable experience and I would recommend!

Don't miss doing this when you're in Porto!!!

So easy to book on-line. There are several different companies doing this kind of activity. We just presented our phone tickets to the wrong booth at the wharf and the friendly staff just told us to go to the next booth. We got there 15 minutes before the trip and sat right up the front. It doesn't matter where you sit, the view is all around you. The English commentary was interesting and easy to understand. The trip isn't just about the bridges. The views from the water are spectacular.

There were many boats offering the same "Six Bridges Cruise" down at the waterfront, and it was confusing determining which one we paid for. Eventually, we found one that would accept our prepaid tickets. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to work, but it's confusing.

Beautiful tour of the bridges

First of all the location I was sent to was wrong, yet the photo was of their boat. They sent me 50 yards to the correct tent. But my booking did not have a time with it so I had to wait an hour to get on the 1 o’clock boat. Once on the boat the one hour tour was great. I could not hear the announcer but didn’t care. When getting off boat I saw a small sign that would have let me download audio to my phone. I highly recommend the Douro river trip, just book one with starting time.

It’s a lovely, relaxing, brief trip up and down the Porto area of the River Duoro. It was a little difficult to understand the recording, and it was not timed correctly so you weren’t always looking at the correct bridge when the recording was talking.
