What are people saying about Porto

Fun activity (even for non-artists)
We had a great time! Neither my husband nor I are artists, so I was worried our tiles wouldn't look great. The workshop provides tile templates and tracing paper to make the process very easy. We had a great time and love our tiles! We were able to draw, paint and walk out with our finished tiles in just 2 hours. And now we have a beautiful handmade souvenir of our trip!

One of the best meals of my life
It was a joy to learn to cook authentic Portuguese food with Heitor! He welcomed us into his beautiful home, took us on a tour of the historic building and farm, then set us to work! We made an incredible 5-course meal that rates in my top 5 most delicious meals of all time. You get to choose your menu from a variety of options depending on what sounds good, which was nice. We made so much food that we left totally stuffed. All the dishes were great but the “fish a portuguesa” was particularly exceptional and featured the best tomato I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m excited to try to recreate it at home (he emails the recipes too). Heitor also grows grapes to make his own wine, and we got to drink (lots of) his amazing vinho verde with the meal! It was delicious, easy drinking and we left a bit tipsy. The farm is located about 50 minutes outside of Porto but was easy to get to via either uber or train (we did uber one way then took the train back). I would recommend this to anyone visiting Porto who is interested in a meaningful, authentic cooking experience. Note that the class took about 5 hours total so don’t try to cram other scheduled activities on the same day.

Yummy & fun
Great fun! My friend is allergic to dairy so we did the vegan option which was nice they offered. It was great fun to see the rest of the class making the regular recipe. All of our pastries tasted excellent. Rui & Ana were great instructors. I also loved the handouts either the recipe to take home and the history of how the pastel de nata became famous. Well done.

A Delicious Experience
A wonderful experience meeting new friends with hands on learning how to make delicious Pastel de Nada. At the end you are given the recipe to take home, as well as lots of suggestions for places to eat in Porto. Our host, Clara, was full of energy and made the class extra fun.

Wonderful cooking class...
Wonderful cooking class experience with Tomás! Learned so much about unique Portugal cuisine, wine and more. The cooking class space was bright, cozy and charming. Tomás was very knowledgeable about the dishes and the town of Porto. Highly recommend this experience!

An Incredible Experience
This was an incredible experience! We first went shopping for ingredients at the Mercado do Bolhão. Very fun! Our class then worked together to make our meal. Everyone had things to do: peeling, chopping, stirring, and more! Our chef, Hugo, was excellent! My fellow classmates were wonderful! The food was delicious.
I am looking forward to making these dishes at home!

This class was such a...
This class was such a pleasure! Our family spanned from 15 y/o to 81 y/o and everyone had a great time working together to create deliciousness! Luis and Henrique were efficient, professional, and supportive. Because they were so well organized, it made the class easy and fun.

Portugese Food, Wines and New Friends!
We had a fantastic time with our guide Anderson and with new friend! After a couple classes of wine, everyone becomes best friends! We enjoyed the variety of delicious and traditional foods and drinks, and walking and learning about the area, the history, and Portuguese culture.

Terry is amazing. So much fun for the whole family.
We did a pastel de nata making class and Terry was absolutely amazing. I’m coeliac, and even though I had my own workstation, she made sure I felt fully included with the rest of my family the whole way through. She’s an absolute bundle of energy and even got my teenage boys involved and having fun, which isn’t always easy!
I felt so spoilt. It’s not often I get to enjoy beautifully made treats like this, and these were gorgeous. The added bonus of getting to finish off the custard was a lovely touch too. Cannot thank Terry and her colleague enough for such a wonderful afternoon.

Don't Pass Up This Cooking Opportunity
What an amazing adventure. I love a good market and Priscilla was the best person to follow through Mercado do Bolhao. She was engaging and informative and introduced us to some of the vendors. Then it was back to cook. Each person had an opportunity to do different jobs, culminating with a most delicious meal. I would recommend this to everyone.

Pastel de Nata workshop in Gaia
Cat was a wonderful teacher. She included all of us at different stages of the bake. She also told some very interesting local facts. A truly fabulous two and a half hours spent making delicious Pastel de Natas from start to finish. Highly recommended!!!

Pastry fun in Porto!!
Patricia and Maria were excellent instructors. They coached us in the proper technique’s to prepare the different components of Pastel de Nata and the end result was a wonderful pastry and whole lot of fun. The studio was spacious and comfortable and the port and champagne were delicious. Highly recommended, but only if you’re ready to have a great time.
