This is a great tour. Our Guide Monica made this so interesting but fun at the same time. We visited places that we may not have gone to ourselves so this was really worthwhile. The tour lasted around 3 hours and this was probably the right amount of time. We would absolutely recommend it especially with the very knowledgable and lovely Monica.

Guide had a microphone which made it easier to hear what he was saying. Very informative guide called Jorge, who knew lots about the history of Porto and all of its amazing landmarks. The visit to the the ceramic shop was very interesting, as was the clothes shop where we saw internal architecture of the old town. We finished by the river overlooking the Port warehouses. A very full and interesting walk. Well worth doing the tour.

Wonderful Intro to Porto

My sister and I participated in a walking tour of Porto with Monica in January 2026. Having spent some time in the hilly Lisbon, I was very concerned by the prospect of a 3-hour walking tour. Thankfully, the pace of our walk was very accommodating. Our relaxed pace was thanks to the fact that Porto is densely packed with history. Monica had a riveting story to tell about each street. She was friendly, outgoing, and skilled at recounting history in an engaging way. Monica's tour made us fall in love with the city and made parting with it bittersweet. My advice: Spend time in Porto. Learn about the city from Monica. You'll be happy that you did!

Monica was a very cheerful and enthusiastic guide who gave us plenty of fascinating information on the historical highlights of Porto. She gave us helpful tips on where to buy authentic Portuguese made goods so we avoid tourist traps and there was never a dull moment during the tour. It was Monica's 3rd anniversary of living in Porto but her knowledge and familiarity with so many people in the city made us feel like we were with a long time native resident. Highly recommended!

This tour was a great introduction to the city on our first day! Monica was an outstanding tour guide. Not only is she knowledgeable, but you can tell she really enjoys sharing Porto with visitors. Her positive energy helps keep you engaged and she was even all smiles and jokes even during a chilly, windy, rain on our tour- that really made something that could have dampened our experience barely even a blip. I would highly recommend this experience!

What a great experience! My husband and I took the tour with Artur and he was a wonderful guide. He is so enthusiastic about Porto and Portuguese history, which is fascinating. You could tell he really enjoyed sharing his incredible knowledge. He also provided us with tips on getting the most out of our time in Porto. There is some walking but I think most people could manage. The pace is reasonable and not too many hills! Enjoy!

What a wonderful way to get to know Porto on our first full day there. Jorge was so professional and nice, very knowledgeable and always had great tips for us. He's serious about the history and makes sure to fact check things (example; the JK Rowling and livraria Lello rumour). My kids (8 and 11) were tired but did enjoy the tour a lot. And good kids are tired kids, right? Lol We very much recommend this tour. Please tip nicely as the tour itself is pretty much free.

Disappointing

We travelled three hours from Lisbon for what we expected to be a friendly introduction to Porto. Our group included two families (nine people total), and when we checked in, the guide, Felipe, told us that our number was too large and that we should have booked a private tour. He said we could only join if we paid an extra 10 euros per person before starting. While we understand that guides rely on tips and had every intention of tipping generously, we were made to feel unwelcome and ultimately decided not to participate. Very disappointing experience given the effort we made to be there.

We don't allow groups with more than 6 people on our tours, and that's why you cannot book more than 6 people at once. If groups of more than 6 want to join, it's charged 10 euros per person beforehand to guarantee our guide will receive a fair payment for his work, as we had cases before where people were leaving without paying anything. It's just interesting that you felt so welcoming if you had the intention to pay the guide generously.

Porto walking tour (best of Porto)

This is a very nice way to hit the main and more interesting points of a touristic city without wasting too much time with a story behind it. After you do a tour like this, you can then concentrate on exploring the rest of the place without worrying about missing the main areas. I absolutely loved it. I personally like the history behind all places and this is a good way to do it, I highly recommend it. It is a “free” tour, but you have to have cash to be able to tip the guide they only asked for 10-20 euros per person at the end of the tour. It was not a mandatory thing to do, a lot of people did not carry cash, but they do a great job so they deserve the tip 100%. Monica was excellent and she knew how to keep us all entertained and engaged.

We had an amazing time with our guide, Jorge. We saw many of the historical sites as well as some interesting parks and neighborhoods. He provided historical facts and interesting stories all along the way. We were not rushed and he was careful to be sure we all were together along the way. His white umbrella was a great visual locator! I would highly recommend this tour and our guide Jorge. It gave us a good overview of Porto and we were able to check many sites off our "must see" list.

Horrible experience

She did not take us to important places in the itinerary. We missed the grand train station, and when she kept talking with a strong accent so we could not understand what she was saying most of the time, we had to leave the group the last 30 minutes so we could race to the Porto Cathedral to be able to see it ourselves. Horrible experience. We still missed the Benton station. What a pity, we may not have any chance in the future to visit Proto again. Sad.

It was informative and a great introduction to the city. Our guide was excellent. Our 3 year old had some challenges holding still at some other the longer stops so that may be a challenge if you have young kids (but not impossible!)

It was interesting and informative! Our guide (the chef) was great; I love that he taught us about tiles! (Wish we had been given time to shop for tiles in the shop.) I had rescheduled for the 10am tour on Sat and found it was a great way to start my day discovering Porto!
