Itinerary
From the moment you meet your guide, the Douro River forms a backdrop to your day.
After a photo stop at the historic city of Peso da Regua, continue to the first winery of the day, perhaps Quinta do Tedo. Learn how wines, including Port, are made and sample some signatures at a guided tasting.
Stop at the riverside village of Pinhao, once an important center of wine transportation, and soak up the atmosphere on a river cruise. Savor an authentic Portuguese lunch at a local restaurant: Please advise any special dietary requirements in advance.
After lunch, it’s time for a second winery, perhaps Quinta do Beijo, an intimate winery where the owner often leads both tours and tastings. Return to your Porto address in the early evening.

Tour guide was professional & provided very good narratives. Wineries were small and initimate with great views of the valley. Boat ride was a 4 of 5 rating due to large number of passengers, less intimate. Overall, very good tour with Marcio!

We had an incredible experience and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. However, we only visited two wineries. The first one was fantastic; the wine was exceptional, and the women who provided us with the tour were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The second winery, on the other hand, was just okay. I understand that the wine culture in different countries can vary, but it seemed odd to be offered only two different wines at a winery.

The duoro valley is absolutely stunning and this tour was an excellent way of seeing the valley, tasting the wines and eating tradition Portuguese food in a small town. We had a really fun group which made the experience even better. The guide was not totally engaging or exciting, but was still a great day as we made our own fun. Highly recommend.

Joana was an exceptional guide. We enjoyed our experience so much. We had a wonderful pastry and coffee at a local bakery to start our experience. This was followed by wine tasting at a local winery. She took us to a couple of the most beautiful lookout points. We then had a delicious lunch. After lunch we cruised down the Duoro River and ended at another fantastic Port Winery. Joana had a vast knowledge of the area, explained everything well. She was amazing- as was our experience. We will definitely come back!

Eduardo our guide was wonderful! Very knowledgeable of the area and wine. He made sure we were comfortable and enjoying the experience. The Duro Valley is so beautiful filled with vineyards and eucaliptus trees and so much more! The wine tours were fabulous. The 2 local wineries were so interesting and the wine was very enjoyable. Lunch was amazing the perfect opportunity to enjoy true Portuguese dishes, Muito Bom!! The boat ride along the river was amazing with spectacular views!

We had a wonderful day with Antonio our guide. First a port wine tour in the most beautiful spot and then lunch in pinhao before a little boat trip down the Douro.
Before heading back to Porto we went to another vineyard with the most spectacular view of the valley. 100% recommend this tour it was a wonderful day.

Excellent day trip. The scenery was wonderful. We visited 2 wineries and the tastings and presentations were excellent and I learnt a lot. The boat trip down the river was very relaxing. Lunch was delicious with a range of dishes to try. Mathew our driver and guide was very knowledgeable and didn’t rush the group. Well worth the day trip and thoroughly enjoyable.

This tour to the valley was a highlight of our entire trip. Cheila was a great driver and very informative on trip. The wineries we went to were perfect, one being a winery for table wines and the other being a port winery, both very different expereiences and vibes and so glad we were able to expereince it.

Had a great trip with a wonderful guide, Pedro. He was very informative, and great driver, and a really good sense of humor. To a certain extent he let the group set the pace. We visited two, smaller, family run wineries, with one showing more of the process of making wine and the other was purely a tasting and explanation of the wines, olive oils and honey.
Would highly recommend trying to book a small group tour, just felt that the trip was a bit more personal than if we would have gone with a larger group. Please note though that the boat ride is a mix of the small group and larger tour groups at together.

Early start. Hour and a half drive to the Douro Valley in an 8 seater air conditioned Mercedes. Some really lovely scenery. A marked increase in temperature as we headed inland away from the coast. We stopped for a short breakfast break in a lovely small town en route. A wine tasting and tour was followed by a very good lunch (with more wine). Thereafter a relaxing boat trip on the Douro and to round things off nicely another tour and tasting - this time Port. We really enjoyed the company of the other 3 couples and were extremely happy with our driver / guide Ricardo who spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable about everything related to wine growing in the area. He really brought the tour to light and made this a special experience for us.

Pedro did an amazing job sharing the history and art of winemaking, but also of Portugal and Porto in general. He also took care to pause for a drug store break when my friend had a bit of trouble with car sickness on the way to the vineyard. I would highly highly recommend this tour!

Lousy tour.
Too long. Not a very nice driver. Impatient.
The lunch which is included is in a restaurant not compatible with what you paid for.
The 2 wineries visited were reasonable, friendly staff.
I do not recommend this tour.
