Itinerary
Your private tour of the Douro Valley begins with pickup at your hotel in Porto, Braga, or Guimaraes. Your guide then escorts you to this famous winemaking region, where your first stop is a longstanding family-owned wine estate. Guided by the staff, sip and sample several varietals and local products for pairing.
From there, travel down the N222 road—have your camera at the ready. Stop for a “wine lunch” (own expense) in the traditional town of Provesende, with time for leisurely exploration after your meal.
Wrap up the day in Sabrosa, another lovely vineyard town in this UNESCO region, sampling a few more local products and wines before you’re dropped back off at your hotel.
From there, travel down the N222 road—have your camera at the ready. Stop for a “wine lunch” (own expense) in the traditional town of Provesende, with time for leisurely exploration after your meal.

We had a wonderful day with our guide Paulo. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great relationship with all of the folks we met along the tour. I highly recommend Paulo. The Douro Valley is beautiful and full of great wineries and wonderful people. We really enjoyed our lunch in a tiny village, boat ride up the river, wine tastings and most of all interacting with the locals. This is a very special place that I highly recommend.

Tiago was the most informative tour guide we have ever had. He was born and raised in Porto and knew so much about the wine country. Our first stop was a small family owned winery Casa do Poco. Cecelia- the owner and the host showed us all around the winery, the grapes, let us pick cherries, showed us how they stomped on the grapes, stored the grapes and let us sample many different wines. Her home and winery is absolutely stunning. Then took a private boat trip down the Douro River. We got to see all the vineyards that surrounded the water for miles and miles to see. Beautiful. Our lunch was at a small local restaurant with delicious food. Tiago took extra time to show us scenic stops, stop by a winery that specialized in white port, and shared his wealth of knowledge throughout the whole tour. My kids and I felt this was the best tour we had ever been on and not recommended enough.

I wanted a private day tour in a clean, comfortable car, with a kind, knowledgeable, personable, professional guide and an easy itinerary that took us to some key spots in the Douro Valley…and our day trip with Dailia was exactly that and more.
After picking us up at our AirBnb promptly at 9am, greeting my mom and I like new friends in a white Tesla, we set out for a gentle adventure through the Douro region, stopping first at a small family-run vineyard where we were given an informative and casual tour through their vines and processes, tarting their beautiful wines along the way, followed by a gorgeous homemade lunch al fresco with fun conversation and relaxing energy.
Dailia was a pro at providing a variety of knowledge and information all along the way without overwhelming the ears or mind with unnecessary chatter, creating the ideal flow of conversation throughout our day as a soundtrack to the rich beauty of the landscape of the Douro region.
We were able to watch the river cruise ship pass through one of the beautiful locks as though a travel angel was perfectly timing each bit of our journey. After a serene rabelo boat trip down the river, a nice little break from the road, we proceeded to our final stop, an old family-run vineyard in a tiny village where we tasted more gorgeous wines and ports, olive oil and honeys accompanying a fun, informative and interesting talk by the owner.
A relaxing, reflective drive back to our AirBnb, a genuine hug goodbye to Dailia and we were all
smiles the rest of the night after a perfect day spent exactly as I’d wanted.
Worth every cent.

The day was incredible. There was a hiccup with the car arriving on time. Despite starting 45 minutes later than scheduled, the day was amazing. Ana was a great tour guide and cautious driver. We came with our 3 year old daughter and she entertained her while we tasted the wine and toured the vineyards. Highly recommend this company, the service, and Ana!

Our visit to Casa do Poso family-owned Douro vineyard was a highlight of our trip— very personal and much more educational than any large winery and great wines! The Douro valley was gorgeous with the olive trees and vineyards becoming green on the hillside. Miguel’s extra information and stopping viewpoints added to a perfect day!

As spoken on the phone between us, you've booked your tour on the platform Viator after our office closing office time for the following day, almost less than 12h away from the tour itself.
Nonetheless, you were immediately fully refunded by us, because we are a serious company, as the vaste majority of the reviews clearly indicate.
But, perhaps because of the hour of the reservation (or not, we don't know) the reservation never appeared on our calendar, as it normaly does.
So, until we've received the phone call of Viator's assistence line, we had no idea that the tour existed. As soon as we spoke with them, we took action, and you know this, because we called you, immediately after they called us.
We've already appologize on the phone for this confusion and your disappointment, but we reiterate that in no way it reflects our normal process and quality of services.
We wish you a pleasent stay in our country.

Tiago was a great tour guide, knowledgeable and fun, the wine tasting was fantastic, views amazing boat ride was really nice as was lunch in a local restaurant with typical Portuguese foods prepared with love. Last stop was not as good. Would have preferred a port tasting.

We loved Maria! We enjoyed every minute of this trip. Maria was an excellent host who took special care of us for the entire day. Two of us had dietary restrictions that were easily met. All of the food and drinks were delicious. The van was comfortable and cool. The surprise at the end did not disappoint. Thank you Maria for capturing this day in photos. Monica, our guide, was excellent. She explained the history and the current operations in the Valley. The scenery was spectacular and the lunch spot was fine. The sip and chill stop at the top of the mountain was beautiful, the owner was a wonderful host, and Trinidad was a beautiful restaurant.

Our tour with Your Tours Portugal was fantastic. Mariana our guide did a wonderful job informing us of the area. The small winery we went to was amazing. The owner took us out into the fields where we got to taste the grapes. We saw the area where they stomp the grapes and got to taste wine that had been fermenting for different amounts of time. Very interesting. Then we tasted 4 wines while enjoying bread tomatoes and jam. Lunch was very good as well. The boat have a different perspective of the vineyards. A wonderful day

Great trip with Maria, our lovely guide. Punctual pick up. Comfortable car. First winery was stunning, wonderful wines. We enjoyed the surprise fresh figs. Lunch was tasty and a nice chance to enjoy traditional Portuguese dishes. The boat ride was very nice, amazing views. The second winery was picturesque- good port and tonic drink. Our guide Dahlia was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and nice. The winery experience was great. You can’t beat a wine tasting at a small vineyard at a producers home! We also enjoyed the restaurant in a small village. All in all a unique experience.

First class education on port wine and the beautiful Douro valley. The trip was very comfortable in the spotlessly new Tesla. Monica our guide was excellent, her English was perfect and she gave us the right blend of history and Fun. She was as enthusiastic and proud to show us all the sights as if she were seeing them with fresh eyes. All of the experiences at the two wineries, boat ride and lunch were curated with care. We felt safe being able to try all the wine tastings and not have to drive. Pricey but worth it!!

This was a fantastic way to personalize an introduction to the gorgeous Douro Valley. Our guide Nunu Pires was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about his native country. He is truly a people person and loved hearing about our travels and life in America. There are four stops on this all day adventure. First is a small, family owned vineyard where the owner treats you like old friends who have dropped in for a visit. She takes you through the winemaking process and explains the characteristics of the wine while you drink and nibble on lovely local appetizers. Next, a truly unique lunch in a restaurant in a tiny town that has been in one family for generations. Then your guide takes you on a gorgeous drive down to the river to take a one hour boat trip through the valley. The views are spectacular and we were lucky to have a breeze. Last, we were taken to a large winery for a cocktail with more stunning views. I highly recommend this tour and our amazing guide, Nunu!

It was a private tour for the six of us. We first went to Quinta Seara d’ordens for wine tasting. Their wines were surprisingly good! The Vindimas Bordeaux red blend was delicious. Then we went for a river cruise at Pinhao along the Douro River. We had lunch at a small restaurant called Casa Tipica Papas Zaide at a small town. The food was good but especially given that the restaurant can only serve a limited numbers of patrons because it’s a family style operation. Afterward we went to have a cocktail made with white Port at a villa high up on the hills overlooking the Douro valley. The trip was excellent. The driver was very attentive and friendly and took good care of us.

My friend and I loved Sophia. She was very knowledgeable about the area and historical facts. I would not recommend the boat portion of the tour. It was very hot when we got on the boat with minimal air flow. The views were gorgeous but we had no idea what we were looking at. The “wine and chill” moment was very intimate. The drink was fabulous. Overall, we would recommend this to friends, especially Sophia, but we would ask for a different option for boat tour.

Guides were amazing. Safe drivers, knowledgeable about the area and wines, and incredibly helpful.
Winery was great - wish there was another stop.
Lunch was not enjoyable. They took us to a beautiful village but the restaurant and food were poor quality. The walls were made out of plywood, no air conditioning, and the fish was poor quality.
Had it not been for the lunch would have given 4 stars.
If it had another winery visit would give it 5 stars

Going to the wine tasting was an amazing experience, Fernando and Cecilia were very friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were outstanding.
The area around de Douro is beautiful and serene . Very relaxing trip.

Our guide Monica was fantastic . We had a wonderful day with her and she took us to great wine tasting spots in the Douro Valley. I highly recommended this tour.
