    We felt like the tour...

    Beth_P, Jul 2025
We felt like the tour wasn’t really worth the cost. We didn’t learn a great deal. However, our guide was excellent. Very pleasant, polite, and friendly.

Hi Beth, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your experience on our Secret Food Tour in Seattle. We're glad you enjoyed the company of your guide — we carefully select and train our guides not just for their knowledge, but for their warmth and ability to make guests feel welcome throughout the tour. It’s great to know your guide made a positive impression. We equally understand that the overall value of the tour didn’t quite meet your expectations, and we appreciate your candid feedback. Many of our guests have shared how much they’ve enjoyed both the local flavors and the stories behind Seattle’s culinary scene, so we’re saddened this didn’t fully come through for you. We’re always working on ways to fine-tune our routes and storytelling to make sure the experience is as engaging and enriching as possible. Thank you again for joining us — your insights are truly valuable as we continue to improve. Should you find yourself in one of our other tour cities in the future, we’d love another opportunity to provide an experience that hits the mark for you.

Okay but not a real food tour.

    Julie_m, May 2025
I have been on better food tours. Our guide was late and there was a focus on history, artist stalls and the ins and outs of the markets. We walked around various areas, double backed and walked back to areas we had already been to, which was a lot of walking and very little food tasting. There was no real plan of a food tour, no overview about what we were going to sample or taste. It was a bit of a “hotch potch”. The gum wall is disgusting and we weren’t interested to stand around while our tour group chewed gum to stick on the disgusting wall. We had a cold toasted sandwich, pinch of salmon from the fish stand, slice of peach from a fruit stand, cheesy clam chowder, pinch of cheese from a cheese shop, quarter of a biscuit from the chocolate shop, straw of honey. Not for me when I think of other food tours.

    Response from Host, May 2025

Hi Julie, thank you for sharing your thoughts on your recent experience with our Seattle food tour. We’re saddened that the tour didn’t meet your expectations. Our Seattle experience is designed to blend local food tastings with the vibrant history and character of Pike Place Market and its surrounding neighborhoods. Many of our guests have shared how much they appreciated not just the food, but also the deeper insight into the culture, hidden corners, and stories that make Seattle’s food scene unique. That said, we understand this combination doesn’t resonate with everyone. Regarding the structure of our tour, we do our best to maintain a balance between movement, storytelling, and tastings. Pike Place is a living, breathing market—lively and ever-changing—which sometimes means adapting our route slightly based on vendor availability or crowd flow. While we aim to keep things seamless, we completely understand how the walking and backtracking could feel a bit much, especially if it wasn’t clear what to expect in advance. As for the tastings, our tours typically include several curated stops to highlight Seattle’s most iconic and locally loved bites. We regret that the food side of the experience didn’t stand out for you. Feedback like yours helps us take a closer look at how we can better communicate the tour’s structure from the start and ensure the tasting elements feel just as central as the storytelling. We’ve welcomed many guests on this tour who’ve found it to be a great introduction to the city—highlighting not only what Seattle eats but also how it lives and breathes. We’re disappointed it didn’t connect with you in that way, and we truly value your input as we continue to fine-tune our experiences. Each of our tours is crafted with its own local flavor, and we’d be happy to welcome you back for a better fit. If you’d like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to us at info@secrettours.com.

    Great Scott!

    Erika_C, Feb 2025
This was a fun and thorough overview of all that Pike’s Place Market has to offer. Scott was an entertaining and informative guide who gave us a glimpse into Seattle’s food scene and ethos. The food samples were diverse, generous, and delicious. This is a great thing to do toward the beginning of your trip to get your bearings and know which food spots to hit up later!

    Response from Host, Mar 2025

Wonderful experience with James :) Since it was the middle of January, it was only my friend and I which was kind of cool because we got to take our time and even had great photo opportunities. I really appreciate James accommodating my food allergies and made sure I was still able to eat something. I would definitely recommend this tour to people

    Response from Host, Mar 2025
