Grant is an amazing captain who instills confidence in his crew. He gives everyone, from the first time sailer to the seasoned old salt, an opportunity to grow in this sailing adventure. He is calm, patient and enthusiastic about sailing. He has made multiple accommodations to his sailboat to ensure safety and comfort from high side rails to cushioned seats, he even installed two seats by the mast to give his guests a better view. I highly recommend sailing with Grant. It was the highlight of our trip to Seattle.

Loved the laid back, friendly vibe of this trip! Got to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery which included baby seals sunning on the rocks on way out of the marina. Captain Grant and his daughter Grace were most hospitable and generous in sharing details of the area. Each of the passengers even had a turn in steering the boat! Highly recommend!

This trip was amazing. We managed to see seals, sea lions and dolphins all in one trip. So relaxing and the captain was very accommodating to everyone on board. It was the best way to spend and afternoon.

Captain Grant did an awesome job welcoming us aboard Sparkles. We really enjoyed our time with him and his lovely daughter Grace. The sunset was beautiful and I can't wait to return to discover more of Puget Sound

Excellent sailing on puget sound, I recommend getting there early and enjoying the beach, park, and coffee shop by the Marina. The sunset was stunning

Amazing service from Captain Grant! It was so beautiful to see the sunset. He made sure we had a great time, and even tried to help us see the wildlife. Luckily for us, there were plenty of seals waiting for us to say hi! Will definitely be back, made us feel very comfortable and right at home on his boat. Thanks Grant!

Grant was THE best, and I truly mean the BEST captain we could have asked for. Grant allowed me to book the entire sailboat for my boyfriend’s birthday (as a surprise) and Grant made our experience nothing less than wonderful. Grant was so knowledgeable and informative. He made us feel so safe and so calm when I expressed my nerves about boats at first! lol. Grant was a huge part of our trip as the memories we made alongside him are some we will cherish forever! Thank you so much Grant. We will see you and Sparkles next year! 😊

We had a marvelous time, my crewmate and new friend, Monica, summarized it as we docked when she said “ I think we have made memories for a lifetime”. The weather was perfect, the dolphins and seals put in a great show while a cruise ship on the way to Alaska provided an interesting site. But the best part of the trip was our captain, Grant, a kind and gracious soul who let each of us take the wheel and made us feel like we were born sailors. He answered every question and provided interesting conversation with the sites of the sound as background and appeared to effortlessly sail his boat. Oh and did I mention he took pics!
I have taken day sailing trips from Alaska to Europe to the Caribbean, my new friend Monica was right about this trip we made memories.

Captain Grant welcomed us aboard “Sparkles” and guided us through the Puget Sound where we saw Mt. Rainer, the local old school light house, abundant natural beauty and numerous dolphins and seals. Small group. Each of us took the helm and steered. An afternoon of serenity at its finest.

Our day was hazy and cool but I'm not sure if it could have been any better. The Olympic Mtns were steeped in clouds and mist which gave them a magical aurora. When the sun set behind them the color radiated though the clouds lighting up the sky making the light on the water sparkle.

As soon as Grant welcomed us, we knew we were going to have a good time. The spectacular sky and water changed every few minutes including most dramatic colors as the sun set.
Grant's deep knowledge of sailing, the Seattle area, the water plus his general charm created an atmosphere I was sad to see end. I would love to do it again and share it with. more friends. Best way to experience the Pacific Northwest.

What a wonderful experience! Grant is so kind, knowledgeable and helpful with every aspect of this trip and makes the whole adventure so enjoyable and fun. The water was so calm and peaceful as we sailed by seals and seagulls into the sunset. We all felt so relaxed and revived after our time on the water watching the sunset and seeing The Cascade Mountains around us. A 10 out of 10 for me!

My husband and I went on the mid-day sailing tour and had a fantastic time! It was the highlight of our trip to Seattle. Captain Grant is very friendly and welcoming! He is very knowledgeable of the area and sailing and gave us a lot of great insights. We all got a turn sailing the boat and had a great time. I highly recommend sailing with Captain Grant!

Enjoyed the day out on the water with Grant! We learned about the other watercraft on the water passing by and while it was a day without much wind and skies weren't clear, we still managed to spot some dolphins and baby seals! It was a very pleasant afternoon on his boat with brand new sails!

Grant was so personable and knowledgeable about sailing I felt safe and like I was with family😀 He made the trip a day to remember! The passengers each got a turn driving the sailboat ( I took 3 turns because I loved it so much !) Grant even provided everyone with a Kit Kat , my favorite candy bar ! The boat was comfortable , the sunset views were spectacular and we even saw seals coming and going into/ out of the marina! Grant also took pictures of the passengers having a great time and sent them to our emails for free. I would highly recommend this excursion 😀

Grant made this sailing adventure truly memorable by sharing his passion for the waters of Puget Sound. If you’re looking for an impersonal big box cruise where you are crammed next to strangers then this is not for you. With a maximum of 6 guests you are guaranteed a personal experience with “hands on” time with the boat to truly experience what it means to sail. Grant has the ‘old sea dog’ vibe with a wealth of sailing and local knowledge that made for an exceptional experience.
