It really sucks because we were excited for this tour. The reviews looked great I booked for my wife and myself and we waited at the correct meeting point for 20 minutes past the time we were supposed to meet in the winter cold. I messaged the guide twice and no one ever responded. I don’t know if somehow he never got the message that he had 2 clients who had just paid 70+ dollars waiting for him. The worst part is I really wanted to do this

Hi Daniel — I’m genuinely sorry this happened. I never received the booking notification or any messages from Viator, which is why I didn’t realize you were waiting. This appears to have been a platform glitch on their end, and I’ve already reported it to them so it doesn’t happen again.
As soon as I became aware, I offered a full refund and a complimentary tour for a future visit, which still stands. I completely understand your disappointment — especially in the cold — and I truly wish I’d had the chance to give you the experience you were looking forward to.

Try a different haunted tour If you want haunted history “legends” This guy likes to tell his own stories and his own experiences and that isnt what we were looking for… the bar stops were horrible.. the first bar was smelly and the second bar was way short staffed. The tour took 2 hours and we were bored by the end . My mom taught me that if you dont have anything nice to say… dont say anything at all. So I will leave it at that . All 7 of my girlfriends that went were not impressed either.

My experience is intentionally different from most ghost tours in Savannah—it’s clearly described on Viator as a firsthand, unscripted journey into real paranormal encounters drawn from my own years of research and investigation. Many guests appreciate hearing genuine experiences rather than the usual rehearsed ghost stories, though I understand that approach isn’t for everyone.
As for the bar stops, while I can’t control the staffing or atmosphere of independently owned venues, I do my best to choose locations that reflect Savannah’s authentic character—sometimes that includes a touch of old-world grit along with the spirits!
And as for not being able to say anything nice… about an experience that has earned hundreds of five-star reviews from guests around the world? That’s more than a little heartbreaking and harsh to read, as I absolutely adored your group! I certainly didn’t pick up on any negative vibes during the tour—you all were smiling, interacting, and asking great questions. You truly found nothing positive to say? Even the ghosts might be shaking their heads at that one!
But I will concur with the first part of your review: “Try a different haunted tour if you want haunted history ‘legends.’ This guy likes to tell his own stories and his own experiences.” Absolutely 100% spot on. I especially agree with the “legends” part—in quotes. The unsubstantiated, scripted myths are what the larger corporate tours offer.
May I suggest an edit? “Read the description of this tour before you book, so you know exactly what to expect and aren’t disappointed.”
Nonetheless, I genuinely thank you for your business and wish you and your friends the best in finding a tour that better fits your expectations. Savannah has many options—mine just happens to be for those seeking something personal and real rather than scripted and rehearsed. ;)

We were let down by this tour, especially for $39/per person. Idk if it was because it was just 3 of us in the tour group..or what, but I guess we were hoping for a little more. While the tour guide was very friendly, it just wasn't the most informative. The tour started with them bashing the other tour guides because they tell the "urban legends" of savannah...and then 80% of the tour was just his own "supernatural" experiences that have happened during his other tours and whatnot. If my friends and I weren't all socially awkward, we would have left early, but we wanted to be nice and finish.

The tour guide Patrick, The Guy IN The Kilt, is a hoot. As a paranormal investigator, he does extensive research on the different haunted buildings, he takes us to when talks about.
He does mention how other tour companies make stories up or embellished stories just to sell tickets.
He was very personable and knowledgeable.
In head, many good stories that happened to him or past clients.
He then interacted with people in our group who wanted to share their own experiences.
I would recommend Patrick and this tour.

He seemed like a really nice guy. We would recommend less bad mouthing the other tours and explain more about the history of Savannah and why it is haunted. We walked by the cemetery and saw headstones, but not a lot of detailed stories of the residents. We walked by historical buildings and again, not a lot of stories about the history of the houses. Same with the church. By the time we got to the park, we were bored. It was a pretty big group, someone in the group was actually starting to heckle him. At that point, it was embarrassing and we strayed off and walked away. We had high hopes and were disappointed. I would rather have gone on a walk with one of the other guides and more of a scripted tour (which he brags that he doesn’t do). Nothing wrong with a scripted tour if the stories are interesting.

I'm afraid you might be confusing our tour with another one. This doesn't sound like Patrick at all and as you can see from our other reviews, it's not consistent with those. Patrick's tour is chock full of history, so it sounds like you left a comment on the wrong tour.

Patrick was accommodating and a great tour guide! He let us reschedule due to illness and took just the two of us on the tour. He also was kind and gentlemanly in having the late night tour end at our hotel so we two ladies didn’t have to walk back alone. He was funny, informative and just a nice guy in a kilt!

Not really a ghost tour, just a pub crawl that you have to buy your own beer. Not very informative about the ghost of savannah. Very disappointing for the price.

If you didn't find the tour informative at all, and considering the hundreds of reviews I have here to the contrary, I can only surmise one of two things-
(A) You were too inebriated to keep up with the subject matter during the tour...
OR
(B) you're the type of person that leaves vague, negative reviews in hopes that the business will refund you in exchange for removing or revising your review.
I can assure you that, as a matter of principle, the latter has never happened, and is *NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.*

My boyfriend and I did this tour last night. Our tour guide, Patrick, was very entertaining and knowledgeable about Savannah! We ended up being the only 2 people on the tour, so we got a private tour and it was awesome!! The stories and sites were well worth it, and we did the pub crawl tour right afterwards with him as well. All in all, it was a fun night and a great way to start off our vacation! If we ever come back, I would do the tour again with Patrick!

Patrick was enthusiastic and had interesting stories to tell. As a paranormal investigator he has several recordings of ghostly encounters-Arthur Smith’s antique shop and the Mercer Williams house were mind-blowing. I don’t know if it was the weight of history or Patrick’s storytelling that made me uneasy at Calhoun square, but there was something heavy in the air for me. My 25 yr old daughter and I really enjoyed spending time walking around historic beautiful historic Savannah with Patrick. Thank you!

Patrick was an incredible tour guide filled with so much passion and knowledge for not only Savannah and it’s history, but about all things dealing with the afterlife and paranormal. Though the tour was longer than most standard ghost tours, our bachelorette group was fully engaged and really enjoyed spending our evening with Patrick. He tells real stories without the broadway drama but with all of the history, and with real evidence he’s gathered himself over the years. As we passed by other ghost tours, they sounded so rehearsed and exorbitantly dramatic — we never felt that way on our own tour. Others in our group who have done ghost tours before, in Savannah and elsewhere, have said this is the BEST ghost tour they’ve ever had. I am so glad we chose this experience!

If I may be frank, the big national tour companies SUCK. They hire storytellers and actors to recite from a script. They tell the same stories you'll hear on every other tour, but worse - the guides often like to add their own "personal touch" (AKA make stuff up) to tell a more dramatic story. Thats a HUGE disservice to the real history of this amazing city.

AUTHENTIC!! If I could sum up my tour in a single word, that would be it! I'm glad my authenticity shows through. The other guides with big companies are reciting from a script, and probably don't have an entire lifetime of passion for the paranormal like I do.

Went to Location that was given to meet the tour guide there was three tour guides on spot & not nether three was our tour guide so needless to say we wasted $154 never got a tour I showed each tour guide the name Ticket number and all information that was emailed to me I was denied a tour saying they was not our tour guide.. not recommended at all please do not waste your money order in online as there was a tour guide no show…. we drove four hours one way just to be able to do a tour with a group of 7 three adults for kids.. on a good note we got to eat a nice dinner and tour of the beautiful city ourselves 4 kids was very disappointing so was the adults after paying the price & we drove back home 4 hours a total of eight hour driving trip to be disappointing

Sad to hear you had difficulty finding your way around town. All of the information is in your confirmation. Patrick was there looking for you to join his group, but the tour starts ON TIME.
We don't have any record of you calling us or Viator to assist....which we would gladly have done. It's not fair to leave a negative review when you didn't contact us or do the tour.
To say you were "denied a tour" is not true. We have a very fair ticket policy - your tickets are good forever until you redeem them. Or you may gift them to a friend.
Again, sad to hear you couldn't find us, but this has never been an issue with any other customers in 9 years of leading tours. We even offered you a refund, but you never responded.
I'm not sure what else we could have done to appease you, but please don't blame your mistakes on others. It isn't fair - especially when your review hurts our ranking here, and our livelihood. Please be more considerate.
