Arthur was an exceptional guide- extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful and funny! City & regional history with a stop for excellent coffee (quality beans with a smooth, medium roast) and artisanal chocolates. Perfect afternoon pick-me-up!

Arthur was very knowledgeable and engaging, and kept us informed of the history of Savannah and what we were seeing. The 2 shops for the coffee and the chocolates were very cute and delicious. Hearing the history of the churches were of special interest. And be prepared, it is truly a walking experience!

Arthur’s goal is to make history engaging. With humor and a wealth of knowledge, he did that and more. Arthur answered all my obscure and uncomfortable questions thoroughly, giving a perspective on the history of Savannah I don’t think we would have gotten anywhere else. He even sent information about our hotel after the tour! The tour was well-balanced, with opportunities to walk, rest and use the bathroom. And the coffee and chocolate were amazing!

A bad tour guide shapes the experience

Unfortunately, our tour guide was condescending and admitted that he was lying about a lot of the information he was sharing. He arrived complaining that he didn’t know he had a tour today and then joked “well since I’m here, let’s do this.” He made misogynistic jokes, lots of disparaging remarks about Catholics and people of Irish descent. Claimed that Savannah was not really a touristy town until 2018. And spent 10 minutes talking about the movie “Forest Gump,” which filmed a scene in Savannah. For a Coffee & Chocolate Walking HISTORY tour of Savannah, it was nice coffee, delicious chocolate and fake history by a snarky guide who seemed annoyed to be working on a beautiful November afternoon.

KT was a fabulous guide. Loved her passion for the city and enjoyed her wealth of knowledge. She shared history of famous battles and pointed out facts about all of the beautiful architecture not to mention her knowledge of the trees and plants.

This tour was a great experience. Visited amazing houses, churches and town squares (parks.) Our tour guide, KT, was outstanding. So knowledgeable of history, architecture and anthropology. I highly recommend this tour.

The tour was amazing overall with lots of great information! With that, we were thrown off because it stated we were on coffee and chocolate tour and we only have went to one coffee shop and one chocolate shop. I would change the name to sip coffee and learn history!
