Brandy is a great tour guide! We took the tour right after a massive rainfall and flood had impacted our travel route. She made helpful suggestions for a slightly different route and also gave us history and additional background on Fredericksburg.

Great history about Texas Hill Country, with many shops and dining options, and plenty of time provided in Fredericksburg. Very short, but well worth the stop in Luckenbach! Surprised to see a National Museum of the Pacific in Texas!

It was such a fun trip I highly recommend doing it. Our tour guide Matt was awesome he had so much knowledge on the area of Texas from our starting point to the end .

Top notch tour director of the Hill Country. Wonderful sense of humor. Very comfortable and clean vehicle. Matt was very knowledgeable of the area, offered human interest stories and had a spot on tour of the wineries we visited. He was accommodating and helpful to the entire group we toured with. I would highly recommend this tour of the hill country and Fredericksburg.

I book dozens of Viator trips each year. This trip was exactly how it was described, but I felt it was way overpriced. We had about 3 1/2 hours on our own. We could’ve drove our rental car there for a fraction of the cost and did the same thing. In my opinion, the fee to enter the museum should’ve been included.

We genuinely thank you for your feedback, and I will fully agree, that for someone that rents a car, or even lives in the area, yes, you can definitely drive yourself to Fredericksburg for a fraction of the cost. Our tour was primarily designed for visitors that don’t want to rent a car or deal with daily parking costs of the downtown area, that also seek a guided experience through the region. Given that we provide guided transportation to Fredericksburg that is 70mi away from San Antonio, we specialize in smaller groups of 10 or less, a dedicated guide is on hand to provide insight & commentary on the region along the way, and an uber/lyft ride is $80-$125 one way (and there’s less of a guarantee to get back to San Antonio through Lyft/uber from the hill country), we feel that our tour is adequately priced. All are welcome to experience our tour, but we designed the tour to be of ease for non-driving visitors in mind, which is also why we have our pick up location situated within the downtown area within walking distance of all major downtown/riverwalk hotels.
We field many calls from potential guests that do inquire about this very issue, and I always explain that if they already have a car, then yes, it will be much more cost effective to drive on their own, and that the deciding factor would be whether having an onsite dedicated tour guide is of value to them or not. For some, that’s exactly what they’re looking for, for others, they’re fine on their own. We are very transparent about that.
As for your time in Fredericksburg, there’s the Nimitz Museum, and the Pioneer museum. These are just some of the many things to explore while visiting the town, but it’s not always of great interest or a priority for some. We leave these options up to our guests to decide on their own. Many times, these museums are under renovations and closed for periods of time. The Nimitz, for example, just reopened a major section of the museum on Dec. 6th. I think if we included tickets to a place that was mostly closed, that would be seen as a waste in value as well. The trip was enjoyable! The Hill country was very beautiful and way different than being in the city. We loved love loved Luckenbach, Texas! Just seeing pictures of Willie and Waylon and knowing they had been, there was a fun part of our trip. Fredericksburg was very nice and full of German restaurants, German beer, and wineries

This trip was well worth it. The scenery was beautiful! Luckenbach is such a fun place. Sharon, our guide was knowledgeable and awesome. We had plenty of time to do our own thing at the stops. Got to see an Axis deer on our drive through the hills which is a deer we don’t have in Oregon.

Since the ride was an hour I was hoping our guide would provide more information about the area. This was our first time to San Antonio and we took this tour to learn more about the surrounding area. Wanted to hear more about the historical significance of Fredericksburg and Luckenbach. Would have stayed longer in Luckenbach. Both were nice stops but I left feeling that I had not gained enough knowledge from the experience.

Enjoyed the stop on the way to Fredericksburg. Wished we had just a little more time, so many shops to visit, I felt I might not have time for a sit-down lunch, so I opted for pastries. All in all, great tour.

fWe loved stopping at Luckenbach and walking around, visiting the post office and gift shop. However, when you look at the picture on the Viator app where we booked all our tours, it shows a group of people under a small hut and what seems to be a village where we would find many shops, eating places etc. It's not that at all. Instead we are dropped off at a particular meeting spot and are released to shop around by ourselves, kind of self discovery on our own. It would have been nice that this tour was described more accurately that it was not a guided experience. Also the guide could have pointed out places of interest and favorite restaurants, etc.

We had such a good time on this tour. Brandy was AMAZING! She provided great information and was so fun. We never felt rushed and she was so accommodating to our rowdy crew. Fredericksburg is so chill. We wish we could have stayed longer! Definitely a must to get outside of San Antonio and do a little exploring with a lot of cold beverages!!

Fredericksburg was so much fun! The shops and dining were delightful! Luchenbach was a fun blast from old times. Our driver was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from him on the drive north to Hill Country.

Brandy was an excellent driver and tour guide. Being a local, she gave us lots of info and history about the area. The drive to Fredericksburg was on the back roads so we got to see some of the country side and Hill Country. Luckenbach was a cute place for a quick stop. Fredericksburg has lots of cute shops and places to eat and drink. We really enjoyed our tour!
