Great first day in rome

Craig_c, Dec 2024
We did this tour in 12/20 on the day that we landed in Rome from USA. It was perfect for a great high level over view of the city for your first day. The lights were incredible. Our guide amber was also incredible, she taught us a lot of about the city and was so nice and friendly and helpful with our questions from it being our first day in Rome!

Great way to spend Christmas evening!

Bethany_F, Dec 2024
Fantastic tour! Have your walking shoes on and be ready to move! Yosh was a great guide with more information than I could retain. He was super flexible and showed us some wonderful spaces I never would’ve found on my own. Completely worth it!

Christmas lights in Rome

Susan_H, Dec 2024
I took this tour with my adult daughter. Tour was lovely. We did finish a long way from the start, otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed it

Nice tour to see Christmasy things in Rome

Iris_K, Dec 2024
Nice tour to see some Christmasy things in Rome. It was interesting to hear about background for the Christmas lights and decorations on the streets. Our guide was great and a very good storyteller. However one thing I was personally expecting from this tour was to learn how Italians celebrate Christmas as the guide was not Italian and had not spent any Christmas’s in Italy this was lacking. We learned about some Christmas traditions but it’s not the same as hearing these stories from a local.

Yash was great

Anthony_K, Dec 2023
Yash was a great tour guide! Hit all the spots and offered great background information. Really covered a lot of ground,

10 out of 10. Highly recommend Sarah’s tour

Desmond_F, Dec 2022
Sarah was a very well informed guide. She was very friendly and helpful. She had an in-depth understanding of Rome, it’s history., Its culture, and its traditions. She moved at just the right pace. For good measure, she brought us hot chocolates, and chocolates en route.

Response from Host, Dec 2022

Desmond, thank you so much for the great review! Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year to you and your family!

Disappointing with no hot chocolate or Christmas treats

Christina_K, Jan 2022
My family and I wanted to do something special since we were in Rome for Christmas. I thought this tour would be the perfect way to add that "holiday spirit" while we were there. I should've booked it for earlier in the week. Because we booked it for Christmas Eve, the place that we were supposed to stop for our hot chocolate and Christmas treats closed early. Our guide wasn't sure of what to do because the back-up place they go to wasn't open either. We spent a good bit of time waiting on the other guide to give our guide some direction. We walked a good bit before finally finding a spot to buy a bottled water which we ended up paying for ourselves. The only highlight of this tour was seeing the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica at the end of the tour. It was amazing to see the Pope on the jumbotron and the Christmas Eve mass that was going on. Would probably skip the tour next time and just plan on going to the Vatican on our own.

Fabulous time! Kat was knowledgeable and friendly! We enjoyed walking around Rome on our first full night here! Would definitely recommend!

Yosh, our tour guide was...

Gary_C, Dec 2021
Yosh, our tour guide was pleasant, but some comments he made were negative regarding Christmas and Rome. The commentary wasn't really Christmas themed, as is stated in the tour description. He did not know the Italian folklore Befana. He told us she came on December 6th, when in actuality she delivers gifts to children throughout Italy on Epiphany eve, January 5th. He mentioned that he wasn't a history buff, but he didn't seem to know the names of some common churches in the area along the tour. The tour description has not been updated. There was no Christmas market and we did not get to try a seasonal panettone. My recommendations for Yosh - You mentioned up front that this is a part time job for you. Whether the job is part time or not, you should be knowledgeable about structures that are on visible on your tour. You should also try to be more positive about the information you are sharing. This could be your customer's only tour while they are in Rome and you should strive to make it a positive experience for each customer.

Response from Host, Dec 2021

Dear Gary, thanks for your feedback. Though we appreciate your honesty and your 3-star review, we would like to remind you that we are lucky, given the circumstances, we are very lucky to even be able to walk the streets of Rome, at these uncertain times. The Christmas market was yet another victim claimed by the pandemic, to our chagrin. Yash, is one of our best storytellers and guides. His whimsical persona, has entertained and educated countless travelers, on a variety of tours. I am sorry that you did not appreciate his jokes, I guess it is just the matter of sense of humor. It's true that during the "low" season, it becomes his part time job, however, during the "high" season it is his full time occupation, combined with the studies for doctoral degree, at the John Cabot University of Rome. We understand that it is impossible to satisfy everyone, and there is always room for improvement. We take your review as a constructive criticism that will help us provide our customers with best experience possible. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Great time!

James_E, Jan 2020
We were late in the season for the Christmas tour and were told it was the last Christmas tour of the season. We elected to go anyway. Max our tour guide was fantastic, a wealth of historic information on every subject. Would definitely recommend this tour. The city was beautiful at night!

A must do tour on Christmas in Rome

cldrusso, Jan 2019
The guide and the tour had totally exceeded all my expectations! The meeting point (Spanish Steps) was really crowded, but I was able to find the guide pretty quickly because he was holding a large sign. Right from the start, I knew it was going to be a great experience, because the guide was really friendly and our group was small. What I loved about the tour is that there was a constant interaction between the group members and the guide, there was no question that the guide couldn't answer, and I left the tour feeling a bit overwhelmed, but knowing so much more about Rome. The stories were very interesting and the delivery really easy and smooth. We had enough time to do a couple of extra places, not included in the itinerary, and it was just great and very unusual, because on other tours, with large groups, we were just herded like cattle without a possibility to soak it in or even ask questions. Wonderful experience that I strongly recommend to anyone traveling to Rome for Christmas!

Wonderful Way to Start Our Trip

Nicole_R, Dec 2018
My wife and I traveled to Italy for our honeymoon, and Rome was our first stop. We decided to book the above-referenced walking tour with Dmitri M. on the day that we arrived to Rome so that we may immediately enjoy a slice of what Rome has to offer. If I am being honest, before the tour began, I was uncertain whether booking any tour in Rome would be worthwhile, or whether doing so would be a quintessential tourist faux pas. In the end, I am thrilled that we decided to book the tour with Dmitri. The tour was informative and, at the same time, awe-inspiring (Rome is THAT good). But, what was equally impressive was the seamlessness with which Dmitri navigated through the city and imparted his vast knowledge about the streets, sites, and sounds of Rome. We enjoyed the tour thoroughly and appreciate Dmitri's spectacular efforts.
