- The full names of all participants must be provided at the time of booking and must match the names on the ID/Passport. Name changes are not permitted.
- A government-issued ID or passport is required for all participants. Without an ID, security may deny entry to the monument. All guests, including children, must bring ID on tour day.
- The Colosseum, Forum, Palatine Hill, and House of Augustus may close occasionally. We'll notify you of any changes in advance if possible. For last-minute closures, updates will be given at the start of the tour.

Although informative, we stayed in place most of the time. We were not able to explore the many artifacts and rooms other than from afar, instead showed pictures from a book. We were also under the assumption(what we thought we paid for)that we would be going to the ground level and seeing the Gladiator Gate at the Colosseum and all we did was go to the second level and again find a shaded area to sit and listen.

While we enjoyed having access to the arena floor and super sites, we felt that the tour was not at all informative. We spent a lot of money on this tour (a family trip) hoping to learn about ancient Rome, and were overall quite disappointed.

Amazing experience! We had a full immersion into Rome’s history with an experienced, academic trained and super friendly guide. During those few hours you will learn a lot. Definitely a must for whoever is passionate for learning the history of Rome by seeing directly its most famous locations. Children can get tired since it is a long walk, but the guide did his best to help to make things smoother.

Our guide Eddy, with a PhD in archeology could not have been more knowledgeable. We learnt a lot and benefited enormously from his experience and his enthusiasm. The tour was on an extremely hot day but we were captivated and 3.5 hours passed very quickly

This tour is the first thing we did on our trip to Rome. We had Luigi as a guide. He was wonderful. Very easy to understand, friendly, and funny. We did miss out on Ceasar's Palace due to new regulations. Luigi did everything he could to get us in and Viator followed up with a voicemail about the situation. Overall, we had a great time.

Our tour guide was a wealth of historical information. The included so much more than we expected. There was minimal waiting due to the Colosseum restrictions that limit entry to 3000 people and Sundays are very busy days. We were definitely able to save time not waiting in the long lines. Wonderful experience!

A great tour that left us in awe and a little tired. There were a lot of steps and a bit of physical exertion, but it was all worth it. Our tour guide, who I believe is named Anna, was wonderful. Her knowledge of history and architecture enhanced the tour. We experienced rain at the end, but it could not dampen our spirits as we saw the sites of a lifetime.

Our guide, Mariela was extremely knowledgeable (she is an archaeologist) and energetic - she also brought some visual aids which helped bring it to life. Although there was a lot to see and the pace was fast, I did not feel rushed. It was very crowded - Skip the line is definitely worth it! I would not hesitate to recommend this tour.

Had a wonderful tour with Camilla .. she had a nice humour and personality and was very knowledgeable about the site. A highlight was on top of the Palatine in Augustus Caesar’s house .

Our guide Guido originally came from Sicily! Did very well he took us round all of round Caesar's palace. We were very glad of the water from the fountain. Guido took us to a balcony where we had an excellent view of central Rome taking in the Vatican, Presidential Palace. We saw Octavia Augustus's house. It took about an hour to get into the Colosseum. This edifice was efficiently organised with 80 entrances to allow 65,000 people to enter and took 20 mins. to empty. We were told of the bloody history where gladiators, criminals and wild animals met their fate. we had good views of the arena and the clever way that animals and plants were hoisted from below to the arena floor. Finished after 4 hours a good exhibition 2nd tier but a long walk to lift a bit awkward for our friends who are disabled.

This is a must see and tour everyone should take. The tour guide was knowledgeable, he was more like a historian. I love this tour and would do it again if I go back to Rome.

This tour was excellent with a very professional tour guide. It was 3.30 hours long, but went so fast as we were so intrigued and fascinated by the information and history throughout this tour, and the audio guide was so good, we could hear our guide all through the tour. I was so sorry it had to end. Looking forward to our next tour when we return next year. Good job Viator.

We hit the jackpot! We have always enjoyed our tours that we have booked through Viator. However, this one was exceptional We were treated to a guide named Sev. He is a professor at the university in Rome and when he has time sometimes does tours. He teaches in the field of archaeology and wow was he able to share some of his knowledge. He really could explain in great detail what we were seeing and did it in an entertaining way. So many questions were asked of him and he was able to answer each in a way that brought things to life. We had an amazing day with him.

The attraction is very crowded. Too many large tours. They should cut down the size of the groups to keep the whole stampede to a minimum. Rudeness is a problem, especially with the tour guides. Our group was a small group and more managed. Nicely done:)

I am not sure if you’re able to request a guide, if so ask for Guido! He was so informative, with a great well of knowledge. There was never a moment where we were bored or left wondering what we were looking at.
Now to the sites, we hit most of the highlights you’d expect from the title of the tour. We spent ample time in each location, we were never rushed, and with the exception of a short 10 minute wait at the Colosseum there were no lines!
Everything was well run, and the meeting point was easy to find and get to. Overall I would recommend this tour, and especially Guido (our guide) to anyone!

I loved this tour. The part with Palatine Hill was new to me and very interesting. Our guide Marco was excellent. A tour guide's personality and communication skills can make or break a tour. In this case, Marco made it!
