AMAZING does not even begin to describe the experience of being on this tour with Deborah. She seriously was the BEST guide and gave us the opportunity to see and learn about the history of the Vatican. Everything about this tour was outstanding. 10/10! Highly recommend.

Christina from Maya Tours was amazing! She was incredibly efficient and knowledgeable. She spoke a lot without overwhelming. She was respectful of our time.

Excellent Vatican tour with Maggie

The kindest tour guide, Maggie. Funny, smart, and such great insights and information. Easily connected to our group and made the experience wonderful.

Amazing Vatican Tour

Debora was simply amazing! She made the entire tour magical and completely engaged our daughters ages 12 and 15 as well as my husband and myself! This tour is a must do!

Debra ❤️

Nancy_T, Sep 2025
Debra was a gift for my sister l, my mother and I. To use my sisters words from her facebook post: the incredible tour guide we had at the Vatican whose heart could be felt in each story she told and who looked out for our mom how our Vatican tour guide, Debra, talked about the ancient art of Michelangelo - there's what you see and there's what you SEE if you really look. There's the story the art is trying to tell you. So in looking at these pictures, its not about seeing a picture of the Colosseum. It's about the in-between stories we now hold as part of our collective history that only we can tell. As we now shift back to reality, all we can say is grazie Italia for being the backdrop of this incredible chapter of our lives - a chapter that commemorates, the deeper understanding of our roots, the start of new familial bonds, and the creation of "in-between" memories that are now part of our history forever.”

The check in process was...

The check in process was easy and instructions were clear. The general tour route was good, our guide Debra was horrible. While knowledgeable, she has beyond rude and patronizing the entire experience. Didn’t not allow any time to soak in the art/take pictures, was not patient with elderly people in the group who needed a bit more time/help navigating stairs and ran the tour like a military boot camp. If you want to be treated like a toddler for three hours, this is the tour for you. Didn’t want to ding the entire company, just maybe ask for an alternative guide.

Highly recommend!

There is more walking than anticipated for the tour. There were a significant number of steps. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was able to pivot when the group got a bit tired due to the heat. We learned a lot. Good experience and definitely recommend it!

Exceptional tour and tour guide.

Maggie, our tour guide, was very well informed, funny and personable. She was excellent with children keeping them engaged. She made the tour great.

If you take only one tour, make it this one.

Once In A Lifetime Experience

Karen_J, Jun 2025
This was my first time in Rome. Tour guide was thorough, knowledgeable, personable and added humor to the tour, at times making it interactive. I was glad I booked this small group tour (10 people max). We were given head sets and earphones so we wouldn’t miss anything. Guide got to know everyone and also used headsets to make sure no one was separated from the group. Being a Jubilee year, the Vatican was very crowded. Tour is fast paced, there is a lot of walking and many steps. It is impossible for the guide to comment on every artifact and painting due to the size of the Vatican. Definitely book skip-the-line to save 3-4 hours waiting to get in. We passed everyone by. Also be sure to include Basilica guided tour part of the tour. When tour is finished you are free to remain in Basilica to pray, meditate or listen to the beautiful live singing of various masses. I am not Catholic but this is a must see tour for any religion

Very disappointed

Meg_J, Apr 2025
This was the most disappointing experience we had in Rome, I was actually in tears. I have visited the Vatican Museums before, so I know what a tour can be. Our tour guide couldn't walk and talk at the same time, so we ended up just standing for long periods of time listening to him. He talked about a few things in GREAT detail, droning on about things like the specific birds in a floor mosaic. And then he completely glossed over other important things, such as giving very little information about the Sistine Chapel. I had to supply information to my travel companions that I had learned on my previous visit. For the great deal of time we spent, we only saw the few halls leading to the Sistine and then were left in the chapel. I understand you can't see everything in the many kilometers of the museum, but I know for a fact we could have seen a lot more if our guide had been better at time management. He seemed like he just didn't want to be there and wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible. This was my mom's once-in-a-lifetime "bucket list" thing and knowing she had such a disappointing experience made me so sad.

Tia was a fabulous guide!...

Great visit and terrific guide. We can’t remember her name but she was very knowledgeable and terrific communication skills for my wife and me and three teenager grandchildren.

Une visite en français ça change tout! C était excellent!

SylvieBeatrice_F, Oct 2024
Excellent!
