Great Guide, Lots to See

The tour was scheduled for 11:00. We made it to the Vatican for entry by 11:30-11:45 because there were a lot of people there to visit. Our guide got us checked in and we were glad to have skip the line tickets. There is a lot to take in for this tour. It was hot this time of year (early September) and there is no air conditioning. Bring a fan, wear very comfy shoes, be prepared to be very close to other people. It took a while before we reached Sistine Chapel. There is a lot of art and history that gets shared on the guided tour. Once in the chapel you just see what’s there and you can move on. We did not see the basilica due to time constraints but it was nice that all of that was included.

Overall this was great. The meeting point was easy to find, the group was small (under 20), but the highlight was our guide Sofia who was magnificent. Very knowledgeable and apparently fluent in at least 4 languages. Only downside was we ran out of time for admittance to the Basilica but that was mainly due to the crowds and not her fault. Would recommend going earlier than 3pm.

Worth skipping to the front of the line!

We had a small group, which Sofie handled with ease. She was very knowledgeable, but did not overwhelm us with information, which allowed us to wander and see what we wanted on our own timeline. So nice to skip the long line and get right in!

Our meet up for Viator was at 11:00. Our tour didn’t begin for another 1.5 hours while standing in the sunshine and heat with very little direction and no plan so we were at the mercy of chaos. Our guide was really knowledgeable and we enjoyed her but our group was 29 people ( not semi private) and the Vatican Museums etc are packed so you literally shuffle for hours. Afterwards, we wished we had just bought our own tickets and downloaded audio so we could go at our own (though packed) pace. We did not think that this semi private tour was a good experience and would not recommend this as an option to friends. In fact, we cancelled plans for the Colosseum based on this experience. This is not meant as a negative critique of our guide, but of our Viator tout experience and that of the extremely crowded Vatican museums etc.

Regarding the delay we apologize but it happened because the Vatican gates were extremely busy therefore tickets controlling and security controlling took a lot more than usual from the Vatican gates since we are in high season. Few time in cappella sistina or basilica san pietro. A waste of time and money You should not propose this type of tour, too much things to see in a very short time. Guide very bored, not capable to make people to be interested. Organization to improve

HORRIBLE !!!

408 € pour 6 personnes. Visite au pas de course = entrée dans le musée du Vatican à 16 h alors que nous avions RDV à 15 heures... dès l'entrée la guide nous dit que nous devons être avant 17 h devant la porte d'accès à la Basilique sinon nous ne pourrons pas y entrer et il faudra aller faire la queue comme tout le monde. Donc musée + chapelle Sixtine en moins d'une heure. Quel dommage !!! et encore une fois tout cela pour 68 € par personne. Fuyez ce type d'expérience

Excelente experiencia. La pasamos super bien con Elisa. Elisa es una guía turística muy conocedora de los museos del Vaticano y de Roma en general. Toda la experiencia fue en español. Definitivamente recomendamos este tour para complementar su visita a la espectacular ciudad de Roma.
