Too bad it's not opened at night...
Audio guide is a bit boring, with voices that are way too "happy". Doesn't get you in the mood it should.
This was an hour long tour into the Capuchin monastery and then into the bone crypts
It's not as creepy as you would think! Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us detailed information on some of the artifacts in the monastery as well as the crypts themselves. Great tour!
Very interesting visit to this museum. Incredible displays of the crypts as well as so much information. Must cover up shoulders and knees as its a holy place, you can purchase a cover up at ticket booth if you need. Spent about 45 mins here.
A little overpriced for what it is, especially since I think purchasing tickets directly at the box office would have been less expensive. The audio guide was informative and very easy to follow, but the museum portion is much more extensive and time-consuming than the actual catacombs.
I was mainly interested in the catacombs themselves and expected to learn more about their history, cultural significance, and the customs or beliefs behind them. Instead, much of the experience focused on the monastery and Capuchin order, while the catacombs felt more like viewing an elaborate art installation made with human remains than exploring a historical burial tradition. It was definitely interesting and a little creepy, but not quite as historical or educational as I had hoped.

The first thing that strikes me is that you refer to them as "the catacombs" instead of "the crypts."
This leads me to think that you might have chosen the wrong attraction to explore.
Catacombs are a completely different location than crypts, each with its own unique history.

It was a good learning experience for adults and kids.
We learned so much.
We are glad to find this in our search of what to do with the family.
We did the audio tour & found it to be very interesting. The audio tour allowed us to go at our own pace. The tour was also a very nice break from the heart wave.
What a unique experience. My kids were shocked at the end with the various displays, and it was really interesting to read all of the information about the crypts.
This is less attended than many of the other tours, but worth the price of admission, for sure!

Most of this experience is a museum about the monks. The section with the stunning bone chapel is at the end. The audio tour is highly recommended as it provides a great explanation of what you are seeing and its meaning. The bone chapel is a shorter segment than I expected but absolutely worth the trip. Its warm in the museum and cooling the crypt.
If you have entry tickets, go right to the ticket booth. There were no signs with the line.
Well worth it, a different experience than other aspects of Rome. Both of my youn teenage sons enjoyed.
This tour was amazing. Our guide was terrific - very informative, respectful and funny all at the same time.

Amazing history and bone art I didn’t know existed !
The museum before the actual crypt is worth paying attention to. It explains the reason behind the monks existence.
The first portion of this tour involves a history lesson through a self guided audio headset. You learn about the reason behind the bone church and then you enter the bone church. The bone church was a unique experience and you are allowed to take photos. I would not bring children here.
You do not really go into crypts but rooms decorated with bones. More like an exhibition. One room after another and you just follow the line of visitors

The rooms decorated with bones are officially known as capuchin crypts.
Under an hour at own pace with audioguide. Booked through Viator so had no wait time. Very interesting tour.
Cheaper to pay on the door - don’t need to pee book a time . I booked on line and it cost 42e when at the church it was 10e each

When you make a reservation at the capuchin crypts you get a ticket to visit them,what you also get is to pick a specific time of the visit
The lines to get in can be very long ,therefore when you book tickets with us you get to skip the entrance lines.
In case you do not mind waiting in the lines ,than this ticket is not for you.
We always try to give you all the information you need so you can choose what works best for you when you visit this unique place
The guide never showed up. We went to the ticket counter and they let us in. Thankfully Viator refunded us. Other than that the place is eerily cool. The self audio guide is very good and worth listening to. Would recommend this excursion.

You have booked an audio guide visit that doesn't included actual tour guide.
Lots of steps to entrance, someone with mobility issues may struggle.
Very interesting self audio that gives you the time to look at everything at leisure.
Not to be rushed, excellent value for money.

Would very much advise a visit if into things like this
I gotta say that the staff here was so friendly and kind. I forgot that I needed my shoulders covered so I wore a tank top. They provided me with a little disposable cover and were not judgmental about it. It was also difficult for me to access my ticket and they didn’t get inpatient with me and found my name in their system after some investigating. The site itself is quite a bizarre marvel. They have a museum to pass through first to learn about the capuchin monks which was really interesting.
Incredible experience with a very small group. I'd say this is must see for Rome.
I do wish we'd had more of an opportunity to view the museum, it was very much a guided whistle stop tour.

It was just ok, at best. For me personally, it was a waste of time but if you’re looking to fill a gap or maybe occupy your family go for it. It’s definitely not something I would recommend going out of your way to do.

Only proceed if you wish to witness a startling reminder of the nature of time, the one thing that cannot be purchased.
Very easy and short visit to the Crypt. Highly recommend this booking as it was easy to organise and we were able to skip a long queue.
This is my third time going. I went in 1973, then 2023 and then yesterday. One of the best things to see in Roma, and there are SO many things to see! Though I feel badly for Italy. Tourists are invading their beautiful country. Unfortunately I am one too😜
Very informative and the museum is phenomenal. Actual Carravaggio painting!! The children seemed to be enjoying it.
Slobodan was an absolute gent. Very informative, courteous and funny. The crypts themselves are fantastic but he pointed out a lot of details we would have completely missed, which made it totally worth it
Didn't catch the tour guides name, he was very good though, said he was a last minute replacement. Stories were told with some humour, not everyone's cup of tea but I appreciated it. Tour was less than an hour, would have been nice to have a bit more time in the museum itself before going into the crypts. The crypts themselves were amazing, whether you are religious or not quite an experience!
Really interesting place but the tour is a rip off. Buy tickets at the venue and you get a free audio guide. Tour definitely not worth it.
Fascinating place but you get rushed through on the tour, no time to read any of the information or take it all in. Save yourself a lot of money and buy direct
