We really enjoyed this small group tour and our guide, Theresa was so knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour because we saw everything from the underground to one of the upper tiers of the stadium and all through Palatine Hill. Great experience!

I have been trying to book an underground Colosseum tour since this experience opened in 2016/2017 and this tour absolutely exceeded all of my expectations. This group was very small (5 total) and there were may times that it was felt hat we were exploring the Colosseum underground on our own. Such a wonderful and memorable experience.

We received what was offered, but in point of fact there was much less to this tour than I would have anticipated, given the advanced explorations of the site. On the plus side, she walked us up to the recently reopened gardens above the Colisseum never open any time Ive visited before, and did an excellent job of explaining what we were looking at. The fault was not that of the guide, it was a defect in what was offered. That said, the guide whose name I did not write down did an excellent job of shepherding us thru the site. She gets personally.

The tour was absolutely fantastic but quite a long venture. Our guide was a bit to detailed in her explanations and seemed to focus on sanitary conditions and sewer issues for our taste. Felt a bit like being talked down to. That said she worked hard but without the lighter approach the tour wore on us. Absolutely book the early morning tour to beat the crowds! It was November and a bit chilly but our pictures we took undergroundour favorite part! had nobody in the background and we moved through without any traffic until the end portion of the tour when it started getting congested. Absolutely book the beat the line and underground portion. The tour is great but we just did not click with our guide.

We thought the trip had some good points and some not great points. The underground of the Colosseum was closed due to rain so we couldn't go down which I was really looking forward to. We also found the trip very long and tiring. On the positive side our tour guide was unbelievably knowledgable about the sites that we visited.

Guide was friendly and informative, but the group was way too large for our comfort level. 23 participants made it difficult sometimes to figure out which way the guide went - we often lost track of her. She passed out headsets and radio transceivers so we could all hear her commentary as we walked this was much nicer than trying to gather around her at each stop but when walking she often told us to turn here without really explaining where here was for those of us at the back of the group. Also it would have been nice to turn off the microphone when she was waiting in line in the washroom. We had to hustle through most locations in the Colosseum and she constantly exhorted us not to stop for pictures, but that was what we were there for! This is not a good tour for those who are unable to walk quickly or climb lots of stairs.

This tour is AMAZING! We got to see the entire colosseum from top to bottom. Our guide took us around the forum and Palantene Hill and provided insight on the wonders of ancient Rome. We got to go to the top of the Colosseum through limited access gates as well as the third level where gladiators and animals were housed. There are reconstructed lifts and accommodations. Well worth the price and time spent!

Amazing tour of the Colosseum. Our guide Alessio was extremely knowledgeable and used the time wisely. It was a lot of walking but it was great to be able to tour the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Roman Forum. The upper and lower tiers of the Colosseum were extremely worth it. Much less crowded and great views. It was amazing to be able to skip the long lines. Highly recommend this tour!

This tour is worth the price. We did not wait in line at all. We zipped through while so many waited in long lines. We also were allowed on the deck of the Colosseum and felt like gladiators from ancient times. The underground part of the tour is amazing and worth the ticket itself. Our guide was so informative and added to the experience. Our favorite part was being on the 4th tier and being able to take some amazing pictures while having an amazing view of Rome. The tour also included the Palatine Hill. We would not have enjoyed entering Palatine Hill as much as we did had we not had our great tour guide. It was a great experience of one of the highlights of our trip. This tour makes your feel like a VIP and you get to learn so much about the history while seeing parts of the Colosseum that few get to see.
