Worst no show guide, no reply to multiple texts.

We arrived 10 minutes before the tour. No sign of a guide. No flag. Checked meeting point. Nothing. Looked everywhere. Called- number was unavailable. Texted 3 times-no reply. Called viator 24/7 number. No answer. Disputing charge with our credit card issuer if Viator doesn’t refund. Have learned many guides in Rome are amateur freelancers. Totally unprofessional. Don’t identify themselves with a flag. Don’t carry a flag on the tour. Get dates and facts wrong. Between crappy food and lousy guides like this one, plus the crowds, bad food in the restaurants, filth and graffiti, we are done with Rome. Have traveled all over the world. Rome is a dump. Go to Spain.

Overall satisfied 8 out of 10. First part is relatively not exciting, just some walls from the ruins. Audioguide was informative, but not much to see. Second area (VIP access) across the street was definitely worth it. Exclusive underground with lots of details and different areas to explore. Would recommend if you have 1 hour to spend.

I really enjoyed the audio experience—it was clear, engaging, and added a lot of depth to the overall presentation. The second part, especially the section under the French building, was truly impressive. The atmosphere and details captured the essence of the location perfectly. Highly recommend!

Interesting and nice below ground

Generally speaking, the way Rome developed and built on top of itself is very interesting. The tour itself consisted of an audio guide (where the recording largely read to you what was on the boards) and then a separate section that has limited access. Note that you can see uminto it from the street without paying the entrance fee. It was nice to be underground during the high heat of the day so that way good. The really frustrating thing was that the meeting point only said "piazza navona" which is a huge piazza (like a racetrack) and the entrance to this off piazza navona was only the width of a door which actually took you to an entrance off the square. So we were racing around trying to find the place and in the viator app you can message them but they were not responding in time for it to be helpful.
