Joseph was a great guide with immense knowledge of the area and Tivoli Villas. Fantastic experience and I highly recommend this tour. We had lunch with the tour and the lunch was good also. The offerings were simple Italian fair and very good food! The bus ride was easy and we had no issues throughout the tour! Highly recommended and we were not at all disappointed!

Beautiful villas - both Villa Adriana (Hadrian's) and Villa d'Este, huge. Adriana is much older from the 1st century, while Villa d'Este is from the 1500s.
Both require alot of walking and Villa d'Este gardens have many levels of staircases, fountains, and greenery. Also lovely Town of Tivoli.

Lots of tricky walking, especially if wet. The gardens are beautiful, and waterfalls spectacular. Wait for organ to play at fou yain door.

Lots of walking, bus was barely held together. Had to ask driver to turn on AC after 20 mins sitting in the heat. Lunch came with food but they didn’t tell us dessert wasn’t included until they asked us to pay.

Great one day solo trip just outside if Rome. The tour guide was knowledgable and careful to do a headcount each time we reunited after free time in a location. Overall enjoyed the mix of structured time and learning from the tour guide and time to explore freely. The two locations are not near one another so I appreciate having the ease of mind to pay and just enjoy my time.

We picked this tour simply to have something to do one of our days of our holiday in Rome. I'm so glad we did! This was an amazing tour. The information on Hadrian and his amazing villa, along with the surprising Villa D'Esta (it looks like almost nothing from the entrance) kept us entranced. The luncheon provided was great as well!

Excellent tour, Marsha was a terrific guide. Was wonderful to escape the crowds of Rome for the day. We left by bus at 9:30 and returned at 4:30. First stop was Hadrians which was very interesting , then free time (didn’t take the lunch option), afternoon was spent at Villa D’Este, the villa is nice but the garden and fountains were amazing. 40 minutes later we were back in Rome. Highly recommend A++++

Tour guide was good. Sights definitely worth seeing. However, we booked a month ahead of time and were given the option to cancel within 24 hours of the tour. As soon as that 24 hour window began we got a message from the tour company that the fountains were down for maintenance and had been down since the 6th of October. Our tour was the 22nd. Seemed very dishonest. Also we paid for the lunch. Don’t waste your money. Worst meal we’ve had in Italy.

Marcia was a very informative and kind guide. We chose the lunch option and the meal included red wine, salad, pasta and a meat dish. As a vegetarian, they were very accommodating to dietary needs. We were given times to meet up and she worked very hard to stay on schedule (some adults in the group made that a little challenging 🫠).

This is a classic trip to a 2000 year-old emperor’s summer house. Then we had a visit to some classic gardens at another estate. Both are UNESCO world heritage sites.

Lots of walking at a fairly quick pace as the guide fit lots of information in the tour. Don’t recommend the lunch as a solo traveler as they made me pay for 2. Gave me no other option

It was a relatively small group.. the guide was excellent and very well organized. If you book an Viator note that the meeting point address on the voucher is incorrect. You must specify in the directions the word Metro Stop. Otherwise it will take you to the city center and no the metro stop. And they are not close.

I wish we could. We were not able to make it to the meeting point in time and did not experience the tour. Heard of a transportation strike last evening at dinner. Reached out to your contact provided, did not get a response. Attempted to get transport to meeting point well ahead of arrival time. No success. Reached out to discuss potential refund, no reply as of yet.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day our guide Marcia was excellent and very knowledgable. Hadrian’s villa was very interesting and not too crowded. The contrast between the 2 villas is great so completely different and the fountains are amazing. I was disappointed by the lunch the standard of the food was ok but not great. Better to do your own thing I feel.

The two villas are absolutely amazing, especially Villa D’Este! The bus ride was a short 30 minutes and it beats riding the train out to Tivoli!
My only complaint was the lunch that was provided. It was not very good. First off, one options for the first course was spaghetti and meatballs, but they held back the meatballs because there was no Mozzerella to make one of the choices in the second course! So they gave you the meatballs as the second course, even though it should have been included in the first course! Then they were served chilled on top of that.
Skip the included lunch and stop at one of the many cafe’s in town and you will be much happier!

The ruins are wonderful. The driver was rude and would not respond…even when we said good morning. They switched the bus on us after the first stop to a smaller van. The van was horrible and barely had AC, curtains did not work or were missing so we could not block the sun. The driver had plenty of AC blowing on him. We were told we could leave our things on the bus and they would be fine. When they switched they did not switch our belongings, so a few had to make the case for them to go get our belongings. They shared they would change buses again before heading back to Rome but it was the same van. Hot and miserable on the way back to Rome. The guide was nice but spent too much time at each stop on the tour…at times the explanations were 15 minutes or longer. Too longer for standing and when standing in the hot sun. We spent 45 minutes in empty rooms getting and explanation of the room, history, and upcoming renovations. We then seemed to rush through all of the wonderful fountains, which was the highlight of the tour. It would have been nice to have had free time to explore the fountains on our own.

I had an amazing time on this tour! Everything was well-organized from start to finish. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience fun and engaging. We got to see all the highlights, but what made it truly special were the personal touches—local insights, hidden gems, and plenty of opportunities for great photos.
The pace was perfect—not rushed, but we also covered a lot. Transportation was comfortable, and everything ran on time. I appreciated how the guide took care of the group and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves.
This tour exceeded my expectations and gave me a deeper appreciation for the area. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting. Worth every penny!

Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este are both beautiful. The fountains at Villa d'Este are spectacular and the gardens are well maintained. The ruins at Villa Adriana remind me of Ephesus. Lunch was included in the tour, it was okay although the serving size for the main course could be bigger.

Enjoyed the tour very much! Our guide, Alizia, was very pleasant and informative, and looked out carefully for all involved. Hadrian's Villa was totally impressive archaeologically. Villa d'este is stunningly beautiful though demanding to manage the many stairs and slopes, especially on a hot day. Our driver, Mario, was also pleasant and drove in a comfortable and safe manner. We never felt hurried and did feel we received good value for the tour. Information was clear to find the meeting point.

After spending 3 days in Rome trying to navigate the crowds and city life of Rome this tour was the perfect contrast to our experience. We loved the connivence of taking the bus and its proximity to Metro line and we spent the perfect amount of time at each stop to get through the days agenda without being too tired by the end.
The Villas themself are an experience for the sense as you travel back in time and imagine these fabulous worlds that were created. The size and scale of Adrian’s Villa is remarkable and the attention to detail and fountain art at Villa d’Este is an experience you can only have in Tivoli!
