I booked for a 3pm tour but for whatever reason they weren't able to do it. They messaged me in the app well in advance and offered the 4pm which I appreciated. They were quick with communication and made sure I had a new voucher which I didn't need because they did a good job getting me added to their list. The group is easy to find, in front of the gallery, just look for the flag. They kept us in the shade because it was soo hot. Get there by the meet time which is 15 mins prior so they can give you the listening device and do a head count, you only get 2hrs in the gallery whether you are in a group or not so they truly can't wait. You can only bring a small bag (about the size of a folded piece of paper) and no water bottles. You can check-in anything that is not allowed and pick them up at the end. They do check-in as a group and give the group a number so just take a pic of the number. Our guide made sure everyone was good to go and had the number before proceeding. I booked this tour on my trip last year with my kids and we loved it! This year I was able to come back with my mother so I knew I wanted her to experience it and I book it again. I was fortunate to get the same guide Silvia, who is amazing! I loved it even the second time. She explains the details and the importance of the pieces. She circles around the sculpturers pointing things out and letting us focus in and take pictures. Silvia makes it exciting to learn about the pieces. She is very knowledgeable, she would even explain other pieces that people had questions about that were not part of the tours focus. You get 5-10 mins of free time after the tour, so if you want to go back to something, note what floor or what main piece it's by. The gallery can seem like a maze with a sea of people and has 2 floors with I think she said 81 stairs, they do have an elevator if needed. The gallery exit's into a small gift shop and beyond that is where you started, the check-in desk. This tour is worth the money. Had I not taken the tour, I would have appreciated the look of the pieces but missed out on all the good details which makes them extraordinary.

a rushed experience overall. I don't know if the museum or the tour group sets the 2-hour limit, but it is pretty restrictive and doesn't allow for an individual to explore on his own or linger longer over a particular work.

Informative and wonderful tour of galleria Borghese. I would highly recommend this tour. We were not crowded and could take our time enjoying each room. Also, the coffee and food at the cafeteria always next level. Get a croissant!

The guide was very knowledgeable about the exposed artworks. Prepared detailed explanations about the artist, period, subject, story and even answered pretty technical questions about different pieces.

You’ll hit the highlights of the museum and get a fairly deep presentation of them. If you’re looking for more depth in each room you’ll need 3 more hours. The guide, Virginia, engaged every person on the tour (we had 12) and answered every question

Our Borghese Galleria tour guide, Virginia (Ginny) was a delight—full of knowledge, insight and personality. She provided great context for understanding the masterpieces of the gallery, the artists who created them, and the political, social and economic forces of the time. My husband, adult son, and I enjoyed a small-group tour of the Borghese Gallery with Inside Out Italy during a brief stay in Rome. The guide's knowledge of the facility and the artwork was top-notch. Well worth the $ and the time. Absolutely loved learning about the art and the history of the collection. My son and husband felt the tour was a bit too detailed, but I didn't.
One important thing to consider -- we used a hop-on hop-off bus to get to Villa Borghese Park, but were dropped on the opposite side from the Galleria. Had to hoof it to make our tour on time. The Park is gorgeous but quite large. Allow yourselves enough time to enjoy the surroundings.

If you managed to get Silvia and love art history, you are in for a treat. A detailed tour into Borghese family, Bernini and Caravaggio by a practising art history lecturer. You can feel her passion from the start. And she tries to engage everyone at every juncture. (But if possible, do complete your readings on Homer’s Iliad, Ovid’s Metamorphoses and/or the Bible, both Old and New Testaments.) This is serious undergrad stuff not your usual fluff.

Tour is very well-organised. We were a small group of five which made the experience very personal. We were immensely fortunate to get Sylvia as our guide.
