You’ll hit the highlights of the museum and get a fairly deep presentation of them. If you’re looking for more depth in each room you’ll need 3 more hours. The guide, Virginia, engaged every person on the tour (we had 12) and answered every question

Our Borghese Galleria tour guide, Virginia (Ginny) was a delight—full of knowledge, insight and personality. She provided great context for understanding the masterpieces of the gallery, the artists who created them, and the political, social and economic forces of the time. My husband, adult son, and I enjoyed a small-group tour of the Borghese Gallery with Inside Out Italy during a brief stay in Rome. The guide's knowledge of the facility and the artwork was top-notch. Well worth the $ and the time. Absolutely loved learning about the art and the history of the collection. My son and husband felt the tour was a bit too detailed, but I didn't.
One important thing to consider -- we used a hop-on hop-off bus to get to Villa Borghese Park, but were dropped on the opposite side from the Galleria. Had to hoof it to make our tour on time. The Park is gorgeous but quite large. Allow yourselves enough time to enjoy the surroundings.

If you managed to get Silvia and love art history, you are in for a treat. A detailed tour into Borghese family, Bernini and Caravaggio by a practising art history lecturer. You can feel her passion from the start. And she tries to engage everyone at every juncture. (But if possible, do complete your readings on Homer’s Iliad, Ovid’s Metamorphoses and/or the Bible, both Old and New Testaments.) This is serious undergrad stuff not your usual fluff.

The tour operator- different from viator- was terrible. Marina the guide was yelling. The map was impossible to follow and we could not get to the venue in time despite dedicating one hour It is not intuitive to get around Rome.

The Borghese Gallery is a highlight of any visit to Rome. It is an overwhelming collection of renaissance and baroque sculpture and paintings. In addition the gallery itself is spectacular. Too much for one visit. Our guided tour was a perfect introduction.

Our guide (I think her name was Silva or Silvia) was simply incredible! She was well-paced, detailed, and so fascinating to listen to. It was clear she truly adores the Borghese and its art, and that passion made the experience even more special. There was no tour guide. I did receive accurate communication about where to meet a person in the garden, who gave us the tickets to enter the gallery. We entered the gallery, walked through the whole gallery, there was no tour guide anywhere to be seen.
I would have been happy to pay Viator to expedite the admission ticket. I do not think I should have paid for a tour guide who was nonexistent
