Unfortunately we did not get to go on this tour. The guide was not at the meeting point at the time listed on our tour. We called the number listed for: “local guide for any questions or difficulties finding the meeting spot” many times and never got a response. We messaged Viator as well and got no response or help. This was the only tour out of all 11 days we took tours that we did not get to go on because we could not find the tour guide. And the only local number that did not answer when we called with questions. Do not waste your money for a company/guide that isn’t willing to help tourists.

Simone was a great guide! We enjoyed learning from him, especially the added tips about town and insider views on being Roman.

Excellent walking tour and guide. However, event did not play out as described. It's billed as a tour that starts near the Spanish Steps and concludes in the same place. Due to an unforeseen emergency, on the tour side of the house, the Pizza making class was cancelled, however, a pasta making class was offered instead. Actually, that would have been fine, however, the walking tour concluded at Piazza Navona at 1640, with no further information about the 1830 pasta making class or its location. At this point, not wanting to interrupt what was a very nice afternoon we opted out of any additional confusion and the pasta making class. Having been to Rome many times, this event was booked as a surprise for family that was visiting for the first time. Fortunately, the guide was remarkable and my family was none the wiser about the confusion around the cooking class. We were able to enjoy a nice dinner, and easily found our way back to the Spanish Steps.

Sara was excellent as our tour guide! Very knowledgeable and kept us entertained along the way on a very hot day. Pizza making was super fun too. A unique tour not to miss!

Cancelled 15 minutes prior the scheduled meeting time. I was already at the meeting point unfortunately
Response from Host, Jul 2022
Hello Michael. I'm very sorry we had to cancel the tour , but the tour wasn't canceled 15 mins before. You booked the tour last minute and We sent you an email well in advanced and sent you a text message as well. If your cell phone service isn't good and you didn't receive the notification before ,I am very sorry but there is no way we canceled it 15 mins before the departure time . Thank you

This was our first day in Rome with our two teens and we showed up to the meeting location super excited, 30 minutes in advance. This tour was to be our "kickoff" after 12 hours of driving from Germany. After waiting 40 minutes (and a pricey cab ride to get there) we contacted the operator via phone. She explained that they sent an email asking if we could reschedule. Looking at the email, it was sent at 3:24 A.M.! Our tour was at 9:30 a.m. I asked the operator how many people they had scheduled on the tour. Her reply "only your family of 4". I am sure that you can get the gist of how this operator works: if they can send an email at 3:24 a.m., not hear back from their ONE scheduled client by mid-morning (my family) and knowingly have my phone number, but not follow up with a call or text to confirm that we have seen the middle of the night email, and furthermore, not show up to the designated meeting place- this says it all.
We were really bummed about missing the pizza making, but instead we made the most of the moment. The four of us jumped on Lime Scooters and checked out the sites that we were supposed to see ourselves. We even ran into a hop on/off walking tour at the Pantheon that was well worth it!
We finally did receive a full refund after listening to 20 minutes of excuses from the operator as to why they no-showed. Her prime excuse was the booking was less than 24 hours from the tour, which we booked the tour at 6p.m. the prior evening, so there was plenty of time to contact us if rescheduling/cancellation was necessary.

Thanks to our tour gide Sara, we had a great time exploring the center of Rome and could get a deeper knowledge about the historical structures and buildings. I can say that this cooking experience was the apex of our short journey in Rome.
I would suggest this activity to everyone!

Perfect first thing to do with 2 teenaged boys for their first time to Rome. Not too long winded and detailed and not a long walking tour (about 90 minutes), then you hang out and have some pizza at a pretty legit pizzeria / trattoria (not someplace mediocre they pawn off on tourists because you don't know any better). Sara was our guide and she was delightful and knowledgeable, and a genuinely interesting person to talk to over pizza. If it's your first time to Rome and you are still struggling to recover from jet lag, this is a good place to start.

Our guide was great. She showed us around town as we walked to the restaurant and shared fun facts with us. Our kids, 9 and 10, were anxious to get to the restaurant to make pizza but she was able to keep their attention. The pizza making was our favorite part! And, it was delicious.

I can not recommend this tour enough! My husband and I were able to see Rome in a completely different light. Our OUTSTANDING guide Nina was not only knowledgeable, but she was engaging, friendly, and really knew her history. Even without the pizza making class at the end the tour was more than worth it! The pizza class made this tour just that much more unique and amazing! This was by far worth every Euro! If you are looking for something truly one-of-a-kind then you should definitely book this tour!

Our guide Nina was so well informed and made the tour engaging and interesting for oour kids (age 11and 9). Pizza-making was a perfect way to end the experience.

Nina, our guide, made this outstanding. Great information about sites we were walking around. Nina gave us,enough time to enjoy what we,were looking at. We ended switching to a pasta class and we can't rave enough about Nina and Chef M (can't get his name right). The fun, Chef speaking and showing us,what to do in Italian and Nina keeping right with him, translating all into English! Best time, thanks so much to Nina, we absolutely loved it!

This was a good tour, and the guide was great, but for our tour, the pizza class was mixed in with the pasta class. They do both at the same restaurant, and the classes happen at different times. The pizza class was much quicker than the pasta class, so we had a lot of time just sitting around. It was still a good experience, but just be aware you may have some downtime you weren't expecting.

A great way to learn about Rome, see the sites, and learn about the Rome pizza! Would definitely recommend this tour to friends and family!

It was really unforgettable experience. Highly recommended

This tour is really great if you arent staying in Rome long. We only had one full day in Rome and this tour allowed us to see so many things that would have taken us forever to find on our own. I would caution anyone taking this tour on a Sunday as we did because several sites were closed or had a church service in progress however our guide Chris worked hard to find other options for us to see if something was closed. Our tour was small 6 which was really nice and we all got to know each other. If youre someone who wants to spend hours at the Spanish Steps or Trevi Fountain this tour is not for you. Each stop is very brief for pictures and to take in the moment. This was perfect for us because we have no desire to stay in one place for a long time. If more time was desired though, Chris accommodated that. Pizza making was super fun and delicious!!!!

our guide was amazing and the pizza class was so wonderful

I have 2 complaints. First we couldn't understand the tour guides accent. They should have a native English speaker. Second, they didn't show us how to make the dough. We learned to roll it. They should at least model how to make dough. I also agree that the guide asks us too many questions.
amyolson19, Jul 2017
This was the first thing we did when we got to Rome and it gave us an introductions to several key landmarks. Chris, our guide, was knowledgeable and friendly. Making pizza at the restaurant Origano was a lot of fun and delicious - the tiramisu they gave us was the best we had ever had!!

Fantastic tour. Nina was extremely informative and fun. The pizza class was amazing! We are hoping our guide will send us the recipe for the pizza dough. Well worth the money.

We loved this tour! Richie was our tour guide and we so enjoyed the time we spent with him. The walking tour was fast but gave us a great overview of the many sights of Rome. The pizza making and eating was great fun for all! Highly recommend especially if you have kids in your group (and even if not)!
SUYA J, Feb 2017
Our tour guide was amazing, she was very nice and informative. I loved the pizza making process and the results were delicious. a very enjoyable experience.

I highly recommend this walking tour and pizza class. Our guide, Nina was excellent. She was very friendly, engaging and a wealth of knowledge. She provided historical significance about each site as well as sharing interesting information about its surroundings. I have been to Rome many times but had never taken a guided tour, I learn't so much more on this tour. The pizza making class was the perfect way to end the tour and lots of fun. The chef Mario was also excellent. He doesn't speak english which was fine for me because I speak Italian but my niece and nephew travelling with me didn't and he was very patient while the guide translated for him. We were free to use any ingredients we wanted on our pizza and it was the best pizza we have eaten in Rome. I recommend you don't eat before the tour so you can fully enjoy your pizza and the dessert! This entire tour exceeded our expectations.

The walking tour was enjoyable and informative. While my wife and I were familiar with most of the places we stopped at, we still learned new things and history. For my mother and sister in-law, the length of the walking tour was perfect and a great way to begin seeing Rome. The pizza class was great and the highlight of the trip. Can't wait to see if we can recreate the pizza we made at home.
Clarisa K, Sep 2016
Tour was great. Our pizza class was moved to a different pizzeria, due to sick chef at the original place. Getting there in the taxi was kind of a hassle, but not anything horrible. The class was wonderful and our pizza chef was amazing!
YinMan_C, Aug 2016
Took this tour first thing we arrived at Rome and it was the best decision ever! Our knowledgeable guide took us around and gave a wonderful overview of the city. Then we had a wonderful pizza making class at a nice restaurant. The chef was very helpful and friendly although he doesn't speak English. Our guide was there translating to make sure we had a great time at the class. I was really surprised at how generous they were when it comes to the toppings we can use for our pizza. We were able to make the pizzas according to our taste and we pretty much had free reign on what to put on. Needless to say the pizza came out SUPER DELICIOUS! The sweet pizza was the bomb as well! So yummy we had to box the left over to take back to our hotel. High recommend this trip!
Anne M, Aug 2016
We loved the pizza making. Although the chef did not speak English, the guide was doing the translations and the pizzas were amazing even if we did make them ourselves. The tour got moved to the afternoon due to illness but the communication was excellent and the tour guide very attentive and took us around the major attractions and was very knowledgeable.
Deborah L, Aug 2016
We had a fantastic time. The walking tour was great - saw many of Rome's most recognized sites. But the pizza making was fabulous. We had 7 people in our group - 3 adults and 4 kids - ages 7, 11, 13, 16. Everyone had a blast. I highly recommend this as a fun family-friendly tour. Well worth the price
Elizabeth_E, Aug 2016
Our guide was very great and was able to give us an informative walking tour of the city. The tour ended with a pizza making class that really was fun. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn how to make their own pizzas.
