Great Tour, Even If You Are A Local!

Pavana_G, Sep 2026
I booked a hiking tour of Multnomah Falls and the Columbia River Gorge for half a day of visiting cascading waterfalls and scenic overlooks from Portland through Viator and we coordinated with Around Portland Tours for the experience. If you want a great way to learn about not only PNW, but about native trees, plants, and animals, you definitely should book a tour. Our tour guide Carrie was so informative, not only about the falls, but about nature in general. If we would have just went on our own I don't think the experience would have been as educational and getting to know the six others on our tour made it fun. We even found out a mother and daughter from San Antonio Texas was staying at the same hotel as us and one floor below us! What are chances of that!?! Don't forget to get a massive cookie or the marionberry shake at the end as a treat after all the hiking!

Our tour guide James was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our 12-year-old son really enjoyed this as well. This is a great tour. One tip.... If you are staying in the downtown area, contact the company about starting at their office rather than riding the blue line for 45-50 minutes all the way out to the east side of town.
