We have recently added pickup service for our waterfall direct product closer to the Columbia Gorge so we can be more transit- and parking-friendly. The departures only are picking up at our locations at the edge of the city. If you will be coming from central Portland, we can assist you in navigating to the start points. If you’re having trouble selecting one, here are the salient points: E 181st Ave Park & Ride — Direct connection from the Blue Line MAX train at 181st Avenue Stop, plentiful free parking, nearby the awesome Rico Taco. Closest to airport hotels. McMenamins Edgefield — if you are staying at this beautiful property or want to dine before or after in one of their garden-adjacent restaurants Mayors Square Park — parking available and coffee shops nearby, cute central downtown that is most convenient if you are coming in from camping or lodging on Mt Hood, Hood River or other locations in the Columbia Gorge. Meeting us in Portland before we leave for pickups can work, please reach out.
Itinerary
Meet your guide and group at a central location in Portland before your chosen departure time to check in for your hike through the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
Then, board an air-conditioned van for a 30-minute drive to Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in Oregon, for a picturesque stop.
Continue to Latourell Falls, a plunge-style waterfall, offering a 2-mile (3-kilometer) hike through ancient basalt landscapes. Visit the iconic Vista House, a historic rest stop with panoramic views and architectural significance.
At Portland Women's Forum State Scenic Viewpoint, capture expansive vistas of the gorge and hear tales of its history. Conclude the tour at Bridal Veil Falls State Park, exploring the enchanting waterfall and fairy-like surroundings.
Return to the starting point to complete the journey.

Squeezed in this half-day tour on the day I was leaving Portland after a long weekend. It was perfect! Our guide Carrie told some great stories and gave some history about the area. Either it was Carrie's experience as a guide, or we were lucky but we stopped at most spots before the crowds and we could pretend like we were the I only group there. Took some really great pictures and got some great recommendations for coffee and spending the rest of the day wandering. Went solo but Carrie and the group made it feel like a trip with friends.
Engaging guide. Gorgeous setting. Four falls and more! The tour made this visit to unfamiliar territory easy and enjoyable—and the setting including the falls, short hikes, and views offers a very special treat not far from Portland itself.
Great experience with Carrie she wash very informative and was fun did an amazing tour. The pick up and drop off was hassle free and we enjoyed the tour and the amazing views
Carrie was an awesome tour guide! She was very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. She also offered us snacks and water which was an added bonus.
As a solo traveler, I was happy to meet other travelers and experience this as a group. It made my solo day in Portland a lot more enjoyable, and I felt safer going with a group rather than solo. I also recommend this tour if you aren’t renting a car.
The tour was the perfect waterfall overview if you only have a short amount of time in the Portland area. I wish we had more time at some of the waterfall spots, but I will just have to come back another time!

I booked a hiking tour of Multnomah Falls and the Columbia River Gorge for half a day of visiting cascading waterfalls and scenic overlooks from Portland through Viator and we coordinated with Around Portland Tours for the experience. If you want a great way to learn about not only PNW, but about native trees, plants, and animals, you definitely should book a tour. Our tour guide Carrie was so informative, not only about the falls, but about nature in general. If we would have just went on our own I don't think the experience would have been as educational and getting to know the six others on our tour made it fun. We even found out a mother and daughter from San Antonio Texas was staying at the same hotel as us and one floor below us! What are chances of that!?!
Don't forget to get a massive cookie or the marionberry shake at the end as a treat after all the hiking!

The entire experience was great. Shannon was responsive from the beginning with setting up the meeting location in Portland Shannon was very knowledgeable of the state of Oregon and its history, along with the history of the waterfalls and Gorge. She even provided places to eat and areas to visit. I would recommend this trip when visiting Portland.
Booked a last minute waterfall tour and it turned out to be a fantastic way to start my trip! My guide was Angela and she was so knowledgeable on the area and all the different waterfalls she took us too, even explaining the history, wildlife, and plants along the way. You could tell she really enjoys her job and it makes for an absolute fantastic tour! Definitely worth the money

One tip.... If you are staying in the downtown area, contact the company about starting at their office rather than riding the blue line for 45-50 minutes all the way out to the east side of town.
Experience was fun and quick at each location. We got lucky and had no traffic. I recommend if you want a taste of the views!
Our tour guide was well knowledged in Portland history. She was very friendly and helpful. The tour was really nice and we had a small group. Beautiful views and photo opps. Plenty of bathroom opportunities as well as gifts shops, ice cream, coffee. Etc.

If you only have a half day, take it to the falls! Be sure to wear good shoes for hiking, no need for layering. Angela was great as our guide, very enthusiastic!
