The tour guide, Everett, was professional and had good energy. He was knowledgeable and kept me informed about the tour. I was the only one on tour, and I was happy that the tour was not canceled. Forest Park is beautiful! I am grateful to Everett to take his time and gave me a private tour of the park :) Thank you!

This was an excellent hike. Our guide, Sarah, was very knowledgeable and very welcoming. Wear a good pair of boots, you'll need them. Get ready for some great views!

It is a lot of up hill but nice and slow with many breaks. Sarah, was the best guide ever. She knew many plants, trees ,history. So knowledgeable, sweet and easy going. I'd definitely take this tour again. It was a great start to our first day in Portland. Mostly all in wooded area, a little through the urban to end in the rose garden of Washington Park. Highly recommend and wear good walking shoes, a lot is not paved.

I had Sarah assigned as my tour guide and she was knowledgeable and lovely to converse with. She was patient and allowed me to take in the beauty of the forest.

I had such a wonderful time and got everything out of it that I wanted! The storytelling and history paired with the hiking route really made for a wonderful experience. I was in town for a conference and this was a great way to change up the week and experience some of the beauty of Portland!

Thank you so much for coming along for our forest in the city, Hannah! And thanks for reaching out to ask for the afternoon time you needed; the light was so pretty!

Excellent- amazing tour. The tour guide was a lovely lady! Prepare to walk - comfortable shoes and clothing.

What an amazing experience! It was a little overcast, but the fog and rain made it such a misty and hauntingly beautiful walk/hike. Our tour guide, Sarah, was so kind and knowledgeable and kept us great company. Would highly recommend taking this tour :)

Sarah was great. She was knowledgeable and friendly. I like how she picked out some edibles for us to sample during our walk. I very much enjoyed the walk. Highly recommend this tour.

Nice hike through the forest. Sarah took us on a long hike up to the Pittock Mansion, then down through an upscale neighborhood to the rose garden. Hike could easily have been done without a guide through a bit of research. Overall I would say it was just a pleasant hike. Wear good comfortable hiking shoes!

Hi there Olivia! We know that people can do this on their own and certainly don’t say that you can’t. It sounds like you shouldn’t have booked a tour if you would prefer to do something unguided. This experience is best for people who want to learn about the forest and hear stories about the area, not for people who just want directions.

Such a nice experience real close to the city. Sarah told us so much about the area and the plants and animals who live there. Would missed quite a few scenes without her. You need to be a bit fit. Because there are a view hills.

Great hiking and wonderful sights! The Forest Park was a lot of fun to hike. We had a lovely tour guide fot our hike.
Richard_P, May 2024
Our guide was quite informative and the sights quite captivating. Being from "dry country," the wetness of ground and air was not as comfortable as hoped, but a good time was had. Two old folk (70+) did not hold up things too badly, and we all got to the end in reasonably good shape. We would recommend this hike to anyone who is in reasonable physical shape and wants to enjoy a forest environment in the midst of a metropolitan area!

We learned a lot about the plants and history of Portland. We were impressed that the tour was not cancelled since our party of 3 was the only group. Sarah spent a lot of time with us and was very knowledgeable about the area. I suggest wearing hiking shoes and dressing for a slightly challenging walk. There is a good uphill climb involved, so if you are not fit you could have a bit of a time handling it.

Sarah is great! Super knowledgeable and personable. Had a wonderful time. I highly recommend a tour!

Great tour with Sara, lovely scenery along the hike and interesting history and tales along the way. Gorgeous views from Pittock Mansion too. It's a relatively uphill walk though so worth keeping in mind depending on your fitness levels (I was definitely a bit tired by the time we reached the top :) )

This tour was so educational and amazing. Sarah is a fantastic guide who really knows her stuff! She pointed out so many things along the trail. We loved reaching the top at Pittock Mansion and looking at the view of Portland. This hike is perfect for anyone. It can be a bit strenuous at times on the climb up but very manageable. Absolutely loved it!

Nice scenic hike through park/creek and neighborhoods in the middle of the city. A good hike so be prepared to climb some rocky trails. I, sadly, had a bad knee and managed to twist it climbing so I didn't quite get to experience the whole tour and had to stop, but it was good for as far as my knee let me go. :)
Jan_H, May 2022
