It was an amazing experience and we highly recommend it!! We saw at least 50 or 60 beautiful horses on our trip!
Tracey_M, Sep 2026
Wonderful trip! The horses were out in full force. 4 families and 2 turtle nests! Great experience!!

Its a beautiful ride. Horses are not a guarantee, but luckily we saw many groups. The guide was great... informative, funny, personable, and patient. Would love if you offered private tours instead of groups of 10. Tour great, group of people with us... not so much. Its a bumpy ride, so please dont complain the whole time about it and irritate other guests. It is windy, so secure your hat so the guide doesn't have to turn the truck around (2 times!!) to get it.

The ride is very bumpy in the far back of the truck so be careful if you have a bad back. We had the best tour guide, Karla, and saw so many horses including babies!! Tour was worth the money!

Even though the heat index was over 100 and the mosquitoes were having a feast, our wild horse experience was fabulous. We saw at least 40 wild horses and also had a very extensive tutorial on sea twirls. Our guide was Lauren and she was excellent.
Affonso_L, Sep 2026
Our guide knew everything about every horse which made for an wonderful experience. I would highly recommend the wild horse tour.

The tour is very nice. Paul was absolutely the best and being from the area he was able to share a lot of history and information from a first hand view. It is open air and bumpy so be prepared but the views are very much worth it!

The driver karla was not very talkative and didnt give much info about the ride. Otherwise was fun but felt like I was having to force information out of her. However is a cool power couple working just wanted a little more

This is the only way to see the horses. Our guide Craig was fantastic. He provided a tour that was well worth the price

Amazing time! Our driver was wonderful, highly experienced and found SO many wild horses to see. And we were shocked by how many houses were built where you could only access them by driving down the 4 wheel drive beach. A fun time! (Side note: if you're prone to motion sickness, I wouldn't do this tour. Driving on the beach is VERY bumpy.)

Guide was funny, friendly and very informative. She made sure we saw several different horses. Great trip

We booked a wild horse tour during our Outer Banks vacation and it was easily the highlight of our vacation! Our guide was incredible—so knowledgeable about local history, the island’s ecology, and the Spanish Mustangs. The 4x4 open-air ride across the beach and dunes was an adventure in itself, and we were fortunate enough to spot multiple herds. It’s clear the guides have immense respect for the horses and their protected habitat. Fun, educational, and breathtaking—10/10 highly recommend for couples and families

It’s amazing the man who took he was awesome. I wouldn’t recommend families with babies that need car seats because it’s very rough.
Jane_N, Aug 2026
It was hard to hear the driver once we started driving, but all in all it was a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

Worth the money. Unique experience. Wish you has a speaker. One person talked to driver and relayed all he said
William_C, Aug 2026
This was the highlight of our trip to the Outer Banks. Our driver and guide was excellent. We saw approximately 40 wild horses. We saw stallions fighting, running and swimming.
Dana_D, Aug 2026
The tour was great. The tour guide did a phenomenal job and was very knowledgeable. She was awesome at navigating the beach so to minimize bumps (our backsides thank you!) Would definitely recommend this as something to put on your to do list.
Yvette_F, Aug 2026
Bob's Wild Horse Tours are the best and they have a long history of preserving the land these horses need to survive undisturbed.
Deanna_H, Aug 2026
Great guide forget her name but she was local who knew so much. Loved her explanation of all. She was very informative of wild horses n sea turtles. Good driver.

This was so flipping awesome! The best time on my trip. So awesome seeing the horses & babies. Tour guide was great!
Crystal_M, Aug 2026
The ride is a little bumpy but it just adds to the adventure feel of it. Our guide was very knowledgeable not only with the horses and their history but also with the sea turtle population.
Kenneth_R, Aug 2026
Very knowledgeable tour guide who cares about the community. Provide an extensive sharing of information related to turtles in the area which my grandchildren found fascinating.
Kathryn_T, Aug 2026
Midday it’s very hot, the horses seek out shade. It was still very enjoyable and satisfying, I’d recommend it.
Mary_M, Aug 2026
Lauren was an awesome tour guide. We saw so much more than just the horses we planned on. Her knowledge was endless.
Kari_F, Aug 2026
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It started to rain and he gave us ponchos, but that didnt stop the fun. He drove us out past the rain and found several herems with the new baby horses. Fun time bouncing on the dunes, seeing beautiful beach scenery and getting to know all about the wild horses and the landscape. Would recommend would also go again!
Erin_R, Aug 2026
Just a great way to spend an afternoon! It was relaxing yet slightly adventurous, and the horses were just stunning. It’s also nice to learn the history of the area.
Nelson_R, Aug 2026
John was terrific. So knowledgeable and friendly and gave us ample time to take all of the photos we wanted to. Great time!
Michelle_Y, Aug 2026
This was so much fun. The ride does tend to get bumpy but that makes it fun. Our guide was very knowledgeable.
