Overview
Learn to surf the waves of the Atlantic Ocean during your time in the Outer Banks with this immersive lesson. Join a small group on the shores of Kitty Hawk for an in-depth lesson on surfboards, paddling techniques, pop up, and foot placement. After practicing on the sand, head out into the water to try to catch as many waves as you can while your instructor guides you.
- Classes are offered at low tide for a safe experience
- All surfing equipment and a wetsuit is provided
- A small group means more attention from your instructor
- This tour is suitable for those aged six years and older
What's Included
- Learn to surf on the Outer Banks!! Lesson includes ocean safety, surfboard anatomy 101, paddling technique, proper pop up and foot placement and help in the water to catch as many waves as you can.
- Surfboard, wetsuit, wax, & stoke for daze!

Meet your instructor at our shop for the beach access address for the lesson. If meeting at beach, instructors will be in the beach access parking lot, if you do not see them they may still be in the water from their last lesson so take a peak for someone with surf boards

The surf lessons were great! There was a little bit of a mix up with some of the reservations in the group, but it all got sorted out in the end. This was very fun!

Fin was our super friendly and informative and supportive instructor with our family of all ages.

Definitely recommend this for anyone new to surfing. My husband and I brought our three teenage boys and we had such a great time! I recommend a wet suite because I am the only one who wore one and I didn't end up with a rash from the surfboard. Also it helps as a buffer against the cold water 🥰

Stone was great to work with! I never thought I would be able to stand up on a board, but Stone gave us great instructions and both my husband and I were able to catch a few waves. Definitely worth the money. It was our favorite activity we did in OBX and are now talking about getting our own surfboard 🏄

Experience wasn’t the best, the water was very rough and we were not warned ahead of time. We had a younger child I. Our group and with only one instructor it was not safe for her to be in the water. We were given a brief lesson and then basically said good luck, unlike other places we have been that help you get into the waves.

The kids said the instructors were very helpful. All the kids had a great time. Only criticisms would be having to go to the business prior to the beach to sign wavers and parking at the beach was tricky. Despite the criticisms they were minor and wouldn't deter me from scheduling again.

My family had a great time and all were able to accurately a wave or two. Water was very cold! Instructors were great. Only complaint I have is that it’s not communicated that you are meeting at a specific location - where ever there’s waves. Call ahead to find out where that may be so you aren’t late. Also plan ahead as parking is limited at beach access.

Absolutely loved the experience! Liam was really patient and helped me catch waves within only minutes into the lesson. Truly never thought I could surf but the instruction I had made it possible. Highly recommend this lesson to anyone interested in getting started surfing!
