Reida was an excellent guide, we got to learn about local folklore and travel to local historic sites throughout Manteo, even with a little rain we had a great time! Look for the orbs, you never know!

Such an interesting and engaging tour! Some history, some folklore, and a lot of mystery. Our tour guide, Anne, was really personable. Even my 11 year old son loved her!

My husband and I had a fun experience. We walked around Manteo and the guide had multiple interesting stories about the history of various locations. I appreciated how the stories were not all already widely known. Our tour started at 8pm which only added to the creepy factor. The guide was great.
Do recommend walking shoes, as it is an hour long, but there are several stops and the walks are brief so it is not an absolute necessity.

My group was excited for this ghost tour, but it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The locations and stories had a lot of potential, but the experience was held back by our guide, who was clearly new and still getting comfortable. She read straight from a script, which made the tour feel more like a lecture than a spooky, immersive experience. There was little engagement, and when asked questions, the guide struggled to go beyond what was written.
That being said, the content itself was interesting, and with a more confident, experienced guide, this tour could be great. The stops were well-chosen, and the accompanying stories were compelling—it just needed a better storyteller to bring them to life.
I wouldn’t recommend this tour in its current state, but I do think it has promise. With more practice and an experienced guide who can add personality and suspense to the stories, this could be a truly memorable experience. Hopefully, with time, it improves!

It was my first time in Manteo and I think this tour is a must for anyone who wants to learn more about the place. Vicki was an excellent guide and was certainly knowledgeable about Manteo’s history and some of the events that had occurred there, including one very tragic story in particular. Be prepared to walk but it’s nothing crazy.

It was a lot about storytelling and less about seeing “haunted” sites. I would have done the downtown stuff first and ended in the cemetery.
