Just spent the day driving around and exploring the Outer Banks this was a great audio tour and took us to a lot of great places, and it doesn’t matter which way you’re going on the island, it will reroute you and gives you a little bit of a history of the area.

Great way to experience the OBX. Tells you where to stop along the drive, interesting facts and history. Love that you can use it offline and it still picks up where you are along the route.

Rather difficult to download and get the program to work. After several attempts we finally got it going and worked with the GPS along the route. More information would need great along the route, more history.

Absolutely wonderful experience!! We saw things we would have never found otherwise! Highly recommend. You can literally start anywhere and do whatever and the guy keeps up no matter what. Even if we stopped to do something, the tour started right back up when we started driving again. Found some unbelievable spots!!

Being new to the Outer Banks, we wanted to explore what it had to offer so we chose the viator driving tour. I am very glad we did. With some effort I could have possibly devised the same trip on my own; however, for the price this recorded driving tour was more than worth it. The tour is easy to down load and operates with GPS so it knows where you are located and can guide you to your next destination with ease. More than that, the narrator (sorry, forgot his name) was a native and had many insights and stories about the towns, sights, etc. on the Outer Banks. In addition, the GPS location information interacts flawlessly to guide you to various locations. For example, there’s a very tricky intersection Southbound near Southern Shores that requires you to be in a particular lane well in advance to make a correct turn. Missing this would be easy and sends your down a wrong road or worse, back to the mainland over a long bridge requiring a U-turn after several miles. The tour warns you a couple of miles ahead……probably better than standard GPS guidance applications. In closing, for folks wanting a complete North to South tour of the Outer Banks, this is an excellence choice.

This is a great way to learn more about the OBX while driving from place to place. So easy to use, just open the tour and it will follow along with you, tell you where to turn and lots of information automatically! Gloomy day, great tour! Having this app offered perfect driving directions and excellent stories for the locations and the downtime between stops. It was like having a personal expert guide in the car with us so we could go at our own pace. Kids age 9-15 were entertained and informed - not too boring or hokey for either age group. Would 100% do the self guided audio driving tour again in any city.
