Mary and Calvin, our guide and driver respectively, did a phenomenal job at showing and discussing the true Memphis history to include some in the 21st century. Highly recommend Mary and Calvin. Great job guys!!!
Alvin_W, Mar 2026
Minor walking, you will get off to see things closer and you will get some barbecue and you can upgrade to extend the tour.

We were only in Memphis for a few days and we were so grateful for this tour. John, our guide, and Calvin, our driver, were both fantastic. John was full of interesting stories and history about Memphis. It was great learn about the city and see so many important landmarks and spaces. His passion and love of Memphis was a highlight. He’s such a talented individual.

Our guide was very informative and the number of stops was appropriate for the length of the tour. Don’t forget to bring a little cash in case you are inclined to tip the guide and/or driver!
Lindsay_R, Nov 2025
Good tour if you only have a few hours to see the highlights! Tour guide was fantastic! Tour gives you a good idea where to go next during your visit! Central BBQ was good food!

Lots of Memphis history, blues, jazz. Quick visit to MLK site of assignation at Lorraine Motel, good guide

We especially enjoyed the tour bus ride around Memphis. Mary, our tour guide was funny, knowledgeable and definitely loves Memphis

Taylor Nicole was an excellent tour guide. She gave very informative information in a very enthusiastic manner. Her knowledge of information was very detailed. I would highly recommend the Memphis discovery tour to anybody. Princess the driver made sure we not only arrived at each destination safely but the temperature was also well controlled.

The tour guide had great delivery and in depth knowledge of very important details of the history of Memphis and it's people. She also had a very caring and interested approach to all her customers and seemed like she really enjoyed her job.
Brian_F, Sep 2025

Wonderful knowledgable guide Mary.
Full of enthusiasm and information on the city, the music and the people. Lovely driver Michael too and a cute coach for the tour.
There is a little assumed knowledge about certain people and American culture. Considering most people on the tour were from the US there were a few Brits(myself included) but that did not detract and she was always happy to answer questions. There are quite a few ‘pass bys’ of things to see which is fine on the whole. Start on Beale Strert with a bit of its history and talk about Handy Park. The stops that we made at Millionaires Row, Clayborn Temple ruins and the Lorraine Motel were excellent and a real chance to drink it all in. By pass of St Jude’s hospital, Mississippi River,The Memphis Cotton Exchange, Lauderdale Courts,
Court Square ,The Orpheum Theatre
AutoZone Park Baseball, Shelby County Courthouse, Calvary Episcopal Church
And then a quick bite at Cental BBQ. I would have liked the chance to stop briefly at the river with the paddle steamers for those not adding on the river cruise and also Lauderdale Court to take a few photos.
I think Sun Record Studios should have been on the included on the tour and I walked there afterwards but halfway along Beale Street, past the bars and restaurants the area, I felt, was a bit sketchy and wouldn’t recommend walking that way alone (I was told it was safe to walk). You can’t add on Civil Rights museum and the Rock and Soul Museum, it’s either or.
My time was limited so as I said, walked to Sun Records and back down Union Street to the Peabody Hotel to see the ducks in the fountain and then back to the Rock & Roll museum and paid entry- which is cheaper than adding it into the tour with museum option and you can suit yourself time wise.
Personally, I’d add on either museums separately after the tour if you want to do them.

The tour guide, Taylor Nicole, had a wealth of information to share about Memphis. We learned quite a bit and enjoyed some tasty BBQ, too.
Linda_K, Jul 2025
The bus tour of Memphis was very nice.
I would have appreciated more time in the civil rights museum.
Karen_S, Jul 2025
Definitely go to the Civil Rights Museum. It will take more time than 2 hours for the museum. We didn't have time to see everything. We didn’t get to go upstairs. The food was ok.
Patrick_B, Jul 2025
Taylor Nicole, our tour guide, and Mr. Calvin, our driver, were the best! 6 out of 5 stars! Very knowledgeable and safely delivered us around Memphis.
PAMELA_J, Jun 2025
Fantastic tour guide! Our wonderful Tracy Nicole taught us so much about the city as we drove around. She was friendly, knowledgeable and so fun!

Despite the pouring rain Larry our guide and Princess our driver were excellent. Very informative. The Rock and Soul museum should not be missed when you’re in the Centre of the Delta Blues. Our only issue was the lack of detail regarding the timing of the tour. It says 2-3 hours but really it’s 4-6 especially if you take the paddle steamer. Nevertheless a tour well worth the time
sue_v, May 2025
Great overview of city character; tour guide informative; got lunch but hadn’t expected it; easy to find meeting spot.
Alison_C, May 2025
Larry was a great tour guide, appreciate hearing his local knowledge of Memphis. There wasn’t too much to see on this tour but we still enjoyed visiting The Peabody hotel (incl. duck march), getting a look around the city, the lunch tasting and then finished with the Civil Rights museum add-on, which took us about 2hrs all up and was very worth it.
Peggy_B, May 2025
Larry was our tour guide, Johnny was our driver. Both are military veterans. Microphone appreciated when we were on the bus and also needed for when we were off the bus and Larry was telling us Memphis information..
Kristina_M, May 2025
Great experience. Our guide Larry was the best and he even gave us a recommendation for an amazing BBQ spot in addition to Central, which was Arnold's. Both were the bomb. Worth every penny.
Tony_M, May 2025
Really poor tour guide. Turned up late and really didn't engage with the passengers. Really dissatisfied!
Daryl_W, Apr 2025
You will have a great time. Lots to learn and lots to see. That's all I have to say. Good job everyone
Cheryl_K, Apr 2025
Our tour guide Larry was exceptional! He made the tour great and very knowledgeable. I would recommend above a five star rating.
Pam_L, Apr 2025
The tour guide was entertaining, personable, and extremely informative. She was open to our questions.
Jeffrey_R, Mar 2025
It was wonderful on every level! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared with us names, places and dates that were quite interesting! The lunch at Central BBQ was delicious! Strong recommendation!
Paula_B, Mar 2025
Interesting tour - if you have mobility issues - ensure this is the tour for you. Drop off to the river cruise was far too early
CARLA_S, Mar 2025
Truly enjoyed this tour with my family. There were lots of opportunities to take pictures. She even helped us take pictures. She was very punctual and spoke very loudly so everyone could hear. I felt like I got to really see a lot of the history and historic sites and homes in Memphis on this tour. It’s well worth it to add the Lorraine motel to your tour With the national cities Museum was a highlight for sure.
