Miguel is an outstanding guide! He is very passionate about combining cycling, beautiful locations, and fascinating historical info. The electric assist bikes were a lot of fun to ride. Our journey took us both on and off roads with plenty of spectacular views. Loved this ride.

This tour was incredible! I didn’t know anything about these 2 cities/villages, but they are gorgeous and the temperature is much cooler than Lisbon on a hot day. Sintra can get crowded with tourists, but with ebikes you can get around quickly and its sooo much better than walking up the many hills! Ebikes are so fun, especially on the offroad parts through the park, getting you to some fabulous views. Thank you Maria for the excellent tour!

This was an amazing way to spend a day, seeing such varied parts of Portugal. We went from the urban bustle of Lisbon to the charming hillsides of Sintra, through the beautiful forest preserve, and down to the beaches of Cascais. It’s an exhilarating and action-packed way to see the region. Also, our guide was awesome!!

Maria was an excellent tour guide. The day was better than I
expected, challenges when we were off-road… beautiful when we were on pavement. Plenty of stops along the way as we desired, everything flexible. I highly recommend this E bike tour.

It was one of the best bike tours we have done! We got to choose to go off road or not. We chose to do off road and there wasn’t anyone else, and we were in a national forest. The food at lunch was phenomenal. I am not usually a sangria person, but it was great and refreshing! Just be prepared for wind blown sand near and at the first beach.

We booked an e-bike tour exploring Sintra and Cascais. Our guide was Maria from freebiketourslisbon.com. Maria was very knowledgeable and getting us on and off the train from Lisbon to Sintra and then back from Cascais was not an easy task. She was very safety conscious, which when riding a bike is very important to us. We stopped at a great little restaurant that was out of the way and Maria suggested a great meal. Great workout even on an e-bike! If you enjoy cycling this tour with Maria is highly recommended!

It's a pretty long day, lots of time on the train. But the park and the views are fantastic. The guide was nice, however she should have stuck to the time advertised. We got back too late.

The train journey takes about 35/40 minutes; the problem is that trains run less frequently on Sundays, which sometimes causes delays.
On the other hand, the tour duration (8 hours) is indicative and may vary for several reasons, such as the weather, how everyone cycles, etc. Safety and comfort are always a priority.
In any case, as we always try to improve, we will take your observations into account.

This experience was easily a highlight of my Lisbon holiday. I was travelling solo, and as it happened, I had the whole tour to myself — which made it feel wonderfully personal.
The route was stunning: winding through the forests and mountains of Sintra before opening out onto the gorgeous coastline at Cascais. I chose to focus on the cycling and the natural scenery rather than visiting the palaces, and it was absolutely the right call.
Maria was exceptional. Attentive throughout, impressively knowledgeable about the history and each of the stops, and refreshingly flexible when it came to adapting the itinerary on the fly, she even helped research lunch options along the way, which was such a thoughtful touch.
I had the best time. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

A tour to never forget! We cycled about 30km during the whole trip, so it’s not only fun, but also a workout. Be prepared for rough terrain when you go off road, so a more experienced cyclist may benefit from this tour. Overall a super fun day that we will never forget.

Beautiful country. We spent about 6 hrs overall on the bikes and covered a little of the country. ( Didn’t actually go into any of the buildings. ). Be aware that, even using the E bikes, a couple of the older people in our group did get REALLY tired The bikes were in good condition and the guide, Miguel (owner) was very knowledgeable. However, his style of leadership made things very difficult. He yelled at us a lot.

I was surprised by your review.
The tour is a full day, Sintra is a mountain (uphill and downhill) and doesn't include visits to any monuments, you knew that.
You wanted to bring older people on this tour, which forced me to take special care, moderate the pace, and change the route.
Furthermore, I had to be extra careful with the older people throughout the tour.
This affected other participants (your tour wasn't private), as I had to prioritize the safety of the older people.
Yes, I spoke louder at the train entrance because you didn't follow my instructions and one of the people could have gotten stuck in the train door.

This is an excellent way to get to see the sights of Lisbon and the surrounding areas like Sintra and Cascais. Fun and informative with knowledgeable guides. We had Miguel who was very accommodating for our personal needs as a small family with one young teenage boy. I would say you should make sure all participants are reasonably fit, confident and competent riding a bicycle in the city and rural areas, as quite a lot of distance can be covered throughout the day, but the e-bikes are really great, quite powerful, and make easy work of any terrain. All in all, a fantastic fun day out, a brilliant experience, and well worth money.

Maya was our guide for the day unfortunately it was very hot on the day but we still managed the hills on our e-bikes and arrived at Cafe Ocidente a favorite restaurant of our tour guide
Food was excellent and Maya was vibrant and looked after us well even though she was a bit fast on the bike

It was great fun with Miguel and Rodrigo. He took us to the touristy spots as well as the not so touristy ones. We rode approximately 47km through a variety of landscape. I would totally recommend this to someone who enjoyed the outdoors.

Awesome day out seeing the highlights of Sintra and Cacais. Our guide Maya was very informative about the history and made sure everyone kept up as group. She took us to a locsl.place for lunch. Maya also stopped along the way so we could take beautiful pictures of the scenery. This tour is a must highly highly recommend we thoroughly enjoyed this as a family.

Great mix of adventure, sightseeing, and history. Andre is a fantastic guide, and modified the tour to match the interests of our small group. We had quite an adventure- we had pastries in Sintra, went on off-road trails, had lunch in Cascais and a great place overlooking the coast line. Can’t recommend this enough.

Andre took great care of the whole group. Fantastic way to get an overview of Sintra and Cascais, sprinkled with off road adventures to see amazing parts of the coastline. Make sure you know how to ride a bike before signing up for the tour!

Andra was an excellent tour guide. We had a great time exploring the area. He gave a lot of interesting information about the history of the area. We had to have gone 20 miles in total. We start at the ocean, went to the top of the mountain and back down again so much fun.

André was amazing during this trip. A lot of things went wrong and he persevered through it all and still made it a great experience. First off, he kinked his neck on the train ride to Sintra so said he wasn’t able to look back to check on us as much as he usually does during the ride. He still made the effort and I noticed he was looking back to check on us regularly. When we were near the top on the mountain a lady in our group got the chain stuck in her bike which made the bike inoperable. André ran the bike up to the top of the hill manually. He was able to tow the lady the remaining way down the hill using some off road routes he knew to the train station and we were able to complete the tour. André was patient and used his knowledge of the area to ensure we were able to enjoy our tour even with all the obstacles thrown at him. André was knowledgeable with the history of Sintra and provided great insight into the history of Portugal. Great experience. Ask for André to be your tour guide!
