Your underwater tour either begins in the early morning or afternoon, depending on which half-day tour slot you select. Make your own way to the start point in Key Largo. There, you’ll meet your guide and get familiar with your snorkeling gear—everything you need is provided for your convenience. Then, set sail on the turquoise waters of the Florida Keys.
Your destination is Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park: the only living coral reef in the United States, and a one-of-a-kind destination. While still on board, learn all about the wealth of wildlife that you’re likely to discover there.
Thanks to your guide’s local knowledge, you’ll head to several different dive sites where you’re most likely to enjoy good visibility and reef access. Swim near tropical fish and have the special chance to discover this unique marine habitat.
Once you’ve gotten back on the boat and returned to the departure point, your experience ends.

This experience was AMAZING. Captain was awesome in getting us out there through the wind. We still had a great time and saw some cool marine life even though the waves were fairly big! First mate Nate took great care of us and explained everything really well! I highly recommend this trip for snorkeling!! You won’t regret booking it!

Great snorkel trip!! Visited two reefs and had a nice time. The staff were very nice and helpful. Our favorite part was seeing the Jesus statue. My 4 year old really enjoyed it too!

Captain Brad and scuba Joe were hilarious! Lots of amazing fish to see. Really enjoyed it. 2 different snorkelling stops. All the snorkelling gear was provided. Beautiful ride out through the mangroves and past the posh houses.

Katie the Captain gave fair warning of the choppy water and rough seas but because we were on vacation and leaving the next day, so we went with it. The boat ride out there and back was fine, it was the waves getting out to the reef and rocky boat at anchor that did for a few people on the boat where they were sick. The first mate Liber was thoughtful, kind and helpful and Katie was funny and made sure everyone was safe. Overall if the weather was better it would have gotten 5 stars.

Capt John & First Mate Nate were perfect hosts for our snorkeling trip to the coral reefs. Nate was especially good with our grandson (10) who was a bit timid at first. Well run and efficient operation.

Great for all levels! We had a first timer and she had great success out there. The crew was knowledgeable and safety minded. Captain Katie and Lieber were outstanding!! We had the best day- we saw so many fish and creatures! The coral was stunning.

The tour guides Scuba Joe and Brad were funny and very entertaining. They told jokes, danced and got us all laughing. There were free snacks and beer on the boat. The scuba gear was clean and topnotch. I felt safe and instructions were clear and easy to follow.

Very professional staff. The weather was not the best, but they found a nice spot with almost no current and nice corals. I love how they count several times to make sure no one is left behind.

Don’t hesitate to book this snorkeling trip with Pirates Cove Watersports! We had the best time ! Captain and his mate were super nice ,funny and entertaining.. They are very efficient and take a lot of care about safety . We went to 2 snorkeling locations and got to see alot of fish and even seen a barracuda! Book with them you won’t be disappointed!

Captain John and his first mate Nate (who actually is one of their scuba instructors) were great. They were informative and made it fun even though it was chilly that morning. Suggested we use wetsuits for snorkeling which was a very good idea. Saw many different types of fish and even a sea turtle. It was a fun experience.

What a fun experience! Captain Caiti and First Mate Nate were a fun duo. They joked, sang and more importantly they talked to everyone about the importance of snorkeling as well as where you need to go to see the best views. We had 7,9,&13 year old and they had special gear just for them and made sure it fit properly before letting them jump in the water. We would love to go back again and again.

Captain John and Nate the first mate were AMAZING!! They explained things very clearly. They made the experience much more fun!! It was my first time snorkeling so I was a little nervous but they made me laugh and relax it was an amazing experience . Definitely will be back!!

Incredible snorkeling trip! Captain Katie and first mate Liber were fantastic. Great energy, very kind and helpful, knowledgeable about and respectful of the reef. We went to two different spots and saw a ton of different fish, nurse sharks, coral, the Christ of the Deep statue, and one woman even saw an eagle spotted Ray but I somehow missed it. The boat ride was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this trip!

It’s a bargain price for 2x dice/snorkel locations… I snorkeled and now want to get certified to dive. Almost 2 hours of snorkeling 🤿 time 🐠 I saw plenty of colorful fish, a barracuda and Jesus statue (not my thing though). The captain 🧑✈️ is very entertaining, plenty of fresh water to drink from cooler. Bring sunblock 🧴 ☀️ and or a rash guard or T-shirt. 👍🏻

They cancelled on us last minute due to a boat malfunction which I understand is out of their control but it did not give us any time to find any alternatives since it was so last minute and there aren't many afternoon trips.

Hi Katie,
You state that you understand the cancellation was out of our control, yet still fault us for it that’s the contradiction we’d like to address. Guests were notified an hour and a half in advance, which is all the notice possible when a mechanical issue arises unexpectedly. A full refund was issued immediately rather than pressuring anyone to reschedule, and while we can inform guests, we cannot force them to check messages sooner.
Additionally, we provided two alternative recommendations, including a 3:00 PM snorkel trip that had availability and did go out, giving you viable options the same afternoon.
Leaving a one-star review while acknowledging the situation was beyond our control is, frankly, ironic, and it directly harms small businesses doing their best to prioritize safety and customer care. We’re always open to fair feedback, but penalizing a company for circumstances you admit were unavoidable isn’t that.

It was amazing. The two captains were very fun and entertaining while also being attentive and made us feel confident and safe. We saw dolphins, a big sea turtle, a shark, so many beautiful fish, and more. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone!
