I would highly recommend finding another vendor for your jet ski excursions in Key Largo. We booked an hour-long tour for my husband and son to celebrate my son’s birthday, but the experience was a massive disappointment from the start.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Kevin, who was incredibly unpleasant. He had a major attitude regarding the boaters license requirement. While we completely understand that safety regulations and licenses are necessary, his hostility was totally uncalled for—especially for first-timers just trying to have a nice family outing.
Major issues we encountered:
• Time Cut Short: Because of the time it took to handle the licensing (which was never clearly communicated beforehand), they cut our 60-minute ride down to only 30 minutes.
• No "Tour" Provided: Despite booking a tour, Kevin gave no guidance or sightseeing. He simply told my husband where not to go and barked at him to be back in 30 minutes.
• Poor Customer Service: Starting an excursion with someone so rude and dismissive is a huge turn-off and ruined the mood of the birthday celebration.
The only saving grace was the Gilbert’s Resort itself, which is beautiful with fantastic servers. However, avoid Sunshine Jet Ski. There are plenty of other vendors in the area that actually value their customers and provide the service you pay for.

So this is all not true at all. On the advertisement for this activity it shows all the requirements needed for the Driver. Sometimes customers miss this and that's fine. We always send a confirmation text to the customer hours before the rental to make sure they have what is required and a link to the jetski lic if required which it was in their case.
So there was no barking as you call and was explained what was needed. We even verified the contact number for the confirmation and he said he received the info. So we are just confirming to make sure he got it.
We have the info onsite as well and he was able to take it and get out on the ski. We didn't short them on time he was given a hour what was paid for. If he came back early that was on him. We always honor what is paid for and never cut short.
there was never any Bad communication or customer service on are part.
We give a safety brief and Show the customers the ride area and the local laws on where to ride.
So all this drama that your talking about wasn't the issue except on your own part.
The funny thing is he said they had a great time and was even asking when we close because they had other family that was coming to meet them and they might want to rent more.

Its a blast. Only takes about 15 minutes to get a good feel for the jet ski. Then top speeds of 45 mile per hour while gliding over the ocean. Fun time!

It was reserved on my wife's birthday, and the guy who met us there, started talking to us so rude and disrespectful. My wife's birthday was ruined and the whole day was horrible. We asked the guy why he was so rude, he said he just talks like this. My wife started crying and we left without getting a service. I would give 0 star or negative but 1 star is the lowest. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you wanna get in the fight or wanna have a bad day. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately not true at all. The customer came in and was not prepared with the proper lic. That they needed and when we gave them the information they acted like they didn’t want to do what is required by law to have the boating lic to operate the ski. The information is stated online what is required and sometimes the customer by passes that which is understandable. Information was given and would have waited for them to do the lic. But for some reason giving information to the customer they wanted to fight about not wanting to do it. We would have waited and gotten you out but you cried and walked away. All we did was give information and what the law is requires you to have. I think the couple was yelling at each other because they were not prepared. You were the only one that made the experience horrible. 0 stars to you. Don’t try and slander us for your mistakes. We are here to make sure everyone has what they need and by the law and safety is our priority. Thanks

My 16 year old nephew rated this as his most favorite part of our Key Largo Vacation!! (He went on the back of a Jet Ski with his Uncle).
Easy to book and Kevin was great at explaining everything before they set off.
Had a great lunch after At Gilbert’s Resort.

Overall, this was a good experience.
However, I believe the booking details could be communicated more clearly. When we booked, it said “jet ski x2,” which led us to believe we were getting two jet skis, but it turned out we only received one. Additionally, we were unaware that Florida requires a boating license for anyone under 37, as this information wasn’t mentioned during the booking process.
That said, the owner was very kind and helped us get everything sorted out. I just think the booking process could be improved for better clarity.

We had a blast riding the jet skis! But we advise you not to take them into shallow water because they will suck up plants and clog the engine. This happened to us, but we called the rental place and they gave us instructions on how to get the plants out. We had a really good time!

Me and my daughter had so much fun, even though it was our first time. It wasn’t difficult to manage and it was really exciting. Gilbert’s Resort is also a beautiful place to drink and eat after your trip. 10/10 recommend.

Definitely worth the price. Got to take the jet skis out pretty much freely within the Bay Area up to around 3 miles out. Lots of beautiful houses and cool boats to look at.
