We had the best time! My husband got sick so he was unable to join in the fun. It was me and my boys. My son had the best time driving the ATV. He didn't stop smiling the entire time. We felt so lucky to get Ben as our guide. It was just us and another party. It was a small group which was really nice (our ATV and 1 other plus Ben, the guide). We stopped a few times to take pictures and the views were absolutely breath taking. He answered all of our questions. I definitely recommend this excursion. And would do it again. Ask for Ben, he's the best!

We had the best time. Thankfully, no rain. The views were beautiful and the guide was excellent. Thank you for a great trip.
A textbook example of corporate greed. Viator is just a middleman that does nothing but take your money. They didn't provide us with any contact information for the company that was actually conducting the tour so we had to walk around on the pier asking everyone what their tour was. Once we linked up, it was clear that this day was going to be all about their logistics. The teenagers that were running the operation had their hands full herding as many customers as possible from multiple ports to their Kawanti base and then loading twenty ATVs into a long convoy. We were just one 20 vehicle convoy of several that they had going up and back on a dirt road with one stop that didn't overlook anything. We did actually stop several times while we pulled over to let other convoys pass us on the dirt road. One of the girls was yelling at drivers because they weren't staying right on the tail of the vehicle in front of them so that they could manage the convoys. The fun of ATV riding was sucked out of the trip and the hope of seeing more of the Alaskan forest was lost in the dust of the ATV five feet in front of us the whole ride.
This was a great ride through the wilderness. Val and Austin were the best guides we could ask for. Looked for banana slugs.
What an incredible adventure! As off-road enthusiasts, we weren't sure what to expect, but Kawanti Adventures exceeded every expectation. The machines were well-maintained, powerful, and an absolute blast to drive. Our guides were outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, safety-focused, and made the entire experience fun from start to finish. The scenery was breathtaking, and the trails offered the perfect mix of excitement and adventure. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience in Alaska, don't hesitate to book with Kawanti Adventures. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and we'd do it again in a heartbeat! Highly recommended!
Low Key UTV Experience. Compared to other ATV excursions we have been on this was not one of the best. First of all, we expected to get our own vehicles but were paired up so you only got to drive 1/2 the time. The path is very short and leads to a viewpoint but there is too much stopping and not enough drive time. It might be ok if you have never driven ATVs before but not an exciting ride if you are experienced. Guides were not engaging and very restrictive. The cost was too high for the experience we got.
Wear warm clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty. The guides are super friendly and fun.
We live here and they were spot on with the information. We had a blast it was worth the money. Our guides were Thomas and Mr Corna
This was really fun! I’d recommend. Well organized and knowledgeable guides. The rain made it even better.
Great fun and beautiful scenery’s. Shuttle service was great to have and leaders were very fun and knowledgeable
We had a great time with this, the guys that were running everything were so friendly and made us feel comfortable even though I was pretty scared to drive at first. Our transport driver from the port was was Thomas and our ATV leader was Sterling, both were lovely and personable, they really made the experience a great one!
Great couldn’t ask for any better!! Would definitely book again!! Loved the guide and the history behind the trip.
Ben was awesome (5 stars for him). The UTVs were very nice machines. The trail was just ok. We didn't see any wildlife and that was disappointing. It was a very short trail. We stopped a few times for photo ops. The biggest reason for 3 stars was the trail and amount of time we spent stopped waiting for the group to catch up. Its tough to put experienced and inexperienced drives together and please everyone. My recommendation would be to have 2 skill levels. For the amount of money we spent on this excursion in my opinion it wasn't worth it.
If you want to be a kid again, this is for you. You'll get to bounce around, get soaking wet, and batter the Kart you're riding in, without any risk of getting in trouble. Our leader Austin was great at communicating and adding value beyond just the joy ride. His coworkers were attentive and supportive as well.

We did this tour on a wet, rainy day. This added to the fun, we went through huge puddles and got soaked but had a blast!
"Drive it like you stole it"
This was unbelievable fun. Robin and Chase were so knowledgeable about the land, trees, the environment. They were sooo helpful with the UTV’s too. Haven’t ridden one is 30 years. It’s was the best day ever!!! Book it!!!! Don’t wait!!! We loved all those young boys. They were so respectful and so funny. What an amazing day!!!
This was our favorite excursion during our Alaskan cruise! Forest was amazing—we really enjoyed the added information about Ketchikan he provided during the ride. Highly recommend!
This was so fun! They provided a shuttle to the location, gave instructions, geared us up and sent us out on a speedy adventure with our guide Forest. He shared info about the area on our tour stops and led us through lots of mud holes on a rocky mountain trail. It was a beautiful day!
A great experience. The staff was very helpful. So much fun. We stopped at a beautiful overlook and a waterfall. Would definitely recommend.
The guides were knowledgeable and explained everything clearly and the carts were well kept. The ride was just enough time to enjoy before it became too much.
Family had a very enjoyable time! The instructor was knowledgeable about the history of the area!! We took wonderful pictures and the ride wasn’t as bumpy as we thought it would be! We recommend this excursion !
We stopped once for a great view and pictures, other that that it was just ok, the guides were great, we did not see any wild life except for an eagle from a far
The shuttle driver and guides were great, the tour itself was anticlimactic and overpriced. The tour takes you up a dirt forest service road to a view and then to a tiny rain fed waterfall. I wish we had heeded other reviews and chosen something else.
Driving the carts was fun and wish that would have lasted longer for the amount you pay to go. Guides did a good job.
Though we had many fun excursions including a helicopter ride - this was our favorite! Karts were very fun, views great, sisters we had showing us were amazing and gave us the best experience!
This was so fun, ages 35-84, laughed the entire time, bumps, mud, goofy rain gear and helmets. Great pics and scenery.....10 out of 10 would do again!!!!
Awesome staff, safety is their priority. Absolute blast. Great place for families with young kids. Try it out,u will not regret
Seeing the Alaskan rainforest and experiencing first hand many of the special plants and animals that live there, all while off-roading was a great experience.
Awesome time. Karts were fast and we got a great view of the area with knowledgeable guides! Learned a lot and had fun
We had a family of 5 (Ages 53, 52, 21, 19, 16) and drive 3 carts between us. We had 2 guides, Rachel and Sterling. They were excellent. They taught us many things related about the local trees and flowers and also the type of animals that live in the area, both in water and land. The guides were also patient with all our questions. (and our driving)
We did see eagles and other local birds and insects. A couple of the over looks we stopped at were beautiful.
It had been raining, so driving was a blast. Lots of puddles to splash through. My 19 year old said it was the best excursion ever. (as he did his best Tokyo Drift reenactment)
The bus from the pier to the adventure was easy to find and the driver pointed out many interesting facts about the city.
A couple of notes…
Your shoes are exposed so ours did get a little muddy but it easily washed out with water and rag.
The excursion advertised water and snacks were included, but we didn’t see any of that. When we asked about a drink all they had left were sport drinks to purchase.
Over all it was a lot of fun and would recommend it for others.
