Jean was a very informative and interesting driver/guide. She was continually on the lookout for any wildlife and was willing to backtrack if she saw any for us to view.
The ice museum was interesting and we enjoyed the $21 apple cider Martini- 1 part vodka/ 2 parts Apple cider - in an ice glass. Unfortunately we did not get to see a professional carver at work.
The hot springs were hot! Even in the rain!!
We enjoyed all aspects of this tour and would recommend it to others who are looking for a similar experience.

The whole experience was well managed and adapted to our requirements. The hot springs were delightful, which were only surpassed by a sighting of a female moose with 2 young, in tow

Loved the ice museum and drinking an appletini out of a glass made from ice. Hot springs warm and relaxing. Drive from Fairbanks was beautiful and we saw two moose. Special shoutout to our driver Ripley, who was fantastic!

It’s a full and beautiful trip! Saw sled dogs, blk bear and moose! Ice house great and so was the apple martini, greenhouse tour great! We loved the hot springs, we found our spot!

We had a great day at Chena Springs. We were picked up right on time, had good conversation and a very pleasant ride up north, liked the Ice Museum and lunch and then thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the springs (and the hot tubs and pool). For us, it was a perfect day after traveling the entire previous day and we'd highly recommend this!

From cold to hot! The experience was great- the ice museum was definitely one of a kind and be prepared to pivot to hot when you enter the springs!

Our time spent at Chena Hot Springs was relaxing and had lovely nature views while in the Springs. The resort is a little dated and needs some upgrades but all in all a worthwhile visit. The icehouse was just ok and afterwards we walked on a path to see the sled dogs. Lunch was yummy. Gavin was an outstation guide and pointed out wildlife on the trip! We saw moose, a swan family and eagles.

Our driver/guide was great! On the drive, we saw moose and heard some great bear stories. The Ice Museum was quirky, and the food at the restaurant was much better than expected. Get some salad. Trust me. All in all, a great way to start our Alaskan vacation!

The ice museum was pretty cool. A little disappointed. I scheduled this as a full day adventure and it was really only a half day. Pool wasn't wasn't clean. My daughter couldn't go into to the hot springs with me. No where on booking did it say there was an age limit.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Melanie,
Our Chena Hot Springs Day Tour is listed as an 8-hour excursion on all of our webpages, and we do not ever vary the length of this tour. Your confirmation emails would have also listed the duration.
While we do apologize that you did not have the experience you envisioned, we do make it very clear on the Viator page for this tour that there are separate pools for adults and children. Indeed, that is why we have two separate ticket prices. On the Viator page, we state, “Children under 18 and pregnant guests are not allowed in the outdoor rock pool, but may use the indoor pools.”
While Chena Hot Springs is a separate entity from our company, we do apologize for your experience, and we have alerted them to your concerns about the cleanliness of the pool.
Thank you for taking our tour, and for taking the time to provide feedback.

The trip to the hot springs was about an hour out of Fairbanks
Kevin, our driver /guide was very knowledgeable and kept the full van load of customers asking questions about all things Alaska!
The hot springs resort is not a fancy place but sitting outside, in 100 plus degree water in a beautiful rock pool was a delight and well worth doing.
Marina_R, May 2024
We really enjoyed our time with Jodi - she was so knowledgeable about Alaskan way of living and so generous sharing that with us! The ice museum was incredible- the appletini is a must! The springs were relaxing. The service at the restaurant was slow and the bartender Shauna was very unprofessional borderline hostile. Everyone at the bar was shocked by her unpleasant behavior.
Susan_T, May 2024
The ice museum was amazing. Summer dog sledding was so much fun. We could pet the friendly dogs. The staff are all so nice.
Patty_R, Aug 2023
Sadly the Ice Museum was not opened and was not informed until the day before. Supposedly will get reimbursed. Hot Springs were great as well as Geothermal tour!
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Patty,
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but the situation at Chena Hot Springs, which is a separate entity from us, has been very fluid, and we have been updating customers as soon as we have information from them on the status of their ice museum. We have issued refunds to every customer who has been affected. The geothermal tour is something that the resort is offering free of charge to make up for the current mechanical issues with the ice museum, so we are glad that you enjoyed it! Hopefully Chena hot Springs will have the museum up and running in the next couple weeks.
Thank you so much for taking our tour, and for leaving a review. We always appreciate all feedback.
Betty_P, Aug 2023
Seeing the dogs, new puppies and dogs up for adoption. Landscaping was awesome. Apple martini was not worth $20. Hot Springs were nice for a first time person being in them. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Betty, it sounds like you had a good time at the resort, but we do not think you took a tour with our company.
Grinn_P, Aug 2023
I was amazed by the hot spring. I soaked until I started to prune. It was an unforgettable experience.
SUE_D, Jun 2023
Juda, our your guide, showed us a fabulous day and allowed us time to enjoy each piece of the trip. The small group is the way to experience this. Thank you!
Tammy_M, Jun 2023
The hot springs were fantastic! And we were able to book an ATV ride. Great memories were made. I would do this adventure again. The scenic views were breathtaking.
neil_k, Jun 2023
Mediocre all around.
Long drive if you’re only going for water. Facilities below average
Hot pool ok but there are a lot better in other states
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Neil, I am so sorry you had a bad experience at the Chena Hot Springs Resort. They are actually a separate entity from us, but it looks like you had a great time with our tour guide based on your other review of us! Thank you for taking our tour and for leaving feedback.
Joan_D, Aug 2022
The guide and trip to Chena Hot Springs made for a wonderful day. We enjoyed the hot springs and ice museum. A moose was even spotted on our drive, an added bonus!
Christy_K, Aug 2022
Our guide Ray was awesome. She went out of her way to make us comfortable, entertained and on time. She even found a moose in the wild for us to get pics!!!! She completed an awesome two weeks in Alaska!
Aparna_R, Aug 2022
Suzi was cheerful, and warm which made it easy to ask her questions. She was gracious about picking us up from the designated location. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the Hot Springs and the Ice Sculpture Museum. The restaurant in the resort was quite good, but I would recommend that people that require vegetarian food options, consider carrying their food with them.
Frances_C, Aug 2022
Cole was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable. It was a great trip!
