Overview

East Austin is brimming with graffiti and street art. Immerse yourself in this world to learn about vibrant unsanctioned murals, constantly revolving tags, motivations, vandal etiquette, and techniques from the most prominent local vandals and muralists. After a lesson in foundational techniques, you'll leave your own mark on the scene and paint with a local graffiti artist on a wall (with permission). What an interesting experience with a talented, knowledgeable, humble - I would dare say graffiti celebrity. Gave us insight of the life of a graffiti artist based on his personal journey. The topics were organic and based on what we seem to be interested in. Meanwhile I would book again knowing it will be totally different next time around. Plus the spray painting was fun.

Andrew was a welcoming and nice guy. We anticipated seeing and learning more about the graffiti scene in Austin. However, we just walked around the block to see a few graffiti works but hoped for more. The paint your own graffiti experience was fun. Would have loved for him to teach us a few techniques to try.

Thanks for the review Mary. Perhaps we will put more emphasis on how long we paint. Some people are here purely for the cultural education, others for the act of painting. It does seem that particularly people coming through this platform tend to want to spend more time painting, which is wonderful. Thanks again.
