Make your own way to meet your guide at the concierge desk at the Hilton Austin, then set out in a deluxe van to discover live music in downtown Austin.

Jax and Trace did an excellent job getting us to each venue. They were friendly and very accommodating. The music venues were unique and fun! I would recommend this tour.

What a fantastic way to dive into Austin’s music scene! Our small group rode comfortably in a Mercedes van while our guide, Trace, and driver, Kelty, shared great stories and insights about the city’s musical history.
We visited three iconic venues—The White Horse, Donn’s Depot, and The Continental—each with its own distinct vibe and sound. As new Austin residents with visiting guests, we especially appreciated having a designated driver so we could relax and enjoy the night without worrying about driving and parking.
The pace was just right, and we had so much fun dancing, listening to great music, and soaking in the atmosphere. Highly recommend for solo travelers, couples, or small groups looking for an easy, memorable night out!

Our guide had a total pulse on the local music scene, and driver made the ride fun as well. We learned a lot about the up and coming music scene, as well as historical and cultural aspects of Austin.

What a fun night! Kelti our guide and Dave our driver were great! It was really fun experiencing different music venues and hearing some history of the places but just of Austin in general. It really opened our eyes to all the creativity here.

If you live love music and want off the beaten path and to explore the variety of music that Austin has to offer, this tour is a must. Kelty our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable- not only on the music scene but on other fun facts about Austin.

The meeting location isn’t real clear. We were picked up at the Driscoll entrance on Brazos St. Don’t look for the Driscoll cocktail bar on 7th street. It’s closed and the wrong pick up spot.

Had some girlfriend come to town who love live music. Best decision to book Austin music crawl - we felt safe, didn’t have to worry about parking, and Ike & Trace took us to hear some really great music at some really iconic places. It was very informative to hear all about the history of music in Austin. Definitely recommend and will be something we will do again when guests come to visit.

We had a great time! People at the busy venues were all so friendly and we made a couple friends. Even with a large scale event happening in town and numerous road closures, our guide and driver were able to get us easily to three amazing local venues with high quality musicians playing. No waiting in lines, or for music to start, just fun. Joey was knowledgeable and personable and our group all seemed to enjoy the evening and different experiences. Thanks again! We met local people later who were impressed and agreed with the chosen spots.

My review is only advice for solo travellers. I assumed the tour would be more of a group activity and good for a solo traveller. Unfortunately this wasn't my experience. Once we got to the venues the group is left to go their own way, which is great when you have friends with you but not so much when you're alone. I also mistakenly assumed we would be in venues where the tour operators might pre book tables for the group. Again, this wasn't the case and likely not really possible at most venues. The others on the tour seem to enjoy it. I left the tour early and ended up paying extra for a ride back to my hotel. A waste of money for me but definitely not for the others in the group id say.

It's exactly as advertised. We got shuttle around in a Mercedes van, had VIP treatment on our first stop at one of the iconic venues we visited and heard a variety of good music throughout the evening. Just an enjoyable evening.

Great variety of local music. Tour guide and driver were very friendly and informative. They took us to 3 venues of 3 different genres of music. Although they had planned venues, they were willing to adapt plans to our likes. We stayed to listen to one set then moved on the the next site. I would recommend this tour for anyone trying to hear original music. It was a fun night.

Joey is as so awesome, personable, thoughtful, interesting, funny, knowledgeable and kind. He remembered everyone’s name on the tour and where they were from. The driver David was also great! We did an icebreaker of the last memorable concert we went to and they made a point of playing that music during our drives. The venues we went to were so fun that we even stayed at the last one to finish listening to the bands set. Hands down our favorite part of our Austin weekend trip.

Went to three different music venues and loved every last one so much! Food trucks available at each for a bite, our guide was informative and wonderful and we’re so happy we did this tour because we saw places we otherwise would of never stepped foot into that we’ve only seen in the movies.

Our music tour last night was fun from start to finish. Kendalin Jane our guide was wonderful! She was knowledgeable, energetic and full of stories about the Austin music scene. And Dave our driver kept us rolling with great tunes!
We heard some great local music and discovered some hidden cool places we’d never have found on our own. If you’re in town and want to experience a slice of Austin, this tour is a must. Huge thanks to Kendalin Jane and Dave for showing us the real Austin….and for keeping it weird!

1 star for Kelty, 1 star for Ike and 1 star for the Saxon Pub. We were so excited for this tour which started out amazingly well then went downhill quickly. Our second stop was Broken Spoke - which is advertised as a dance hall. The focus was NOT the music. We were not interested in twostepping (we were on a girls trip) and were sorely disappointed in this venue. The third venue truly made us scared for our lives. We went to the Skylark which was racked, stacked and packed with people. It was truly unsafe to be inside - we had visions of the White Snake fire. Your couldn't enter it was so packed with people. Codes were broken that night! We were forced to stay outside (the whole group did) where most patrons (also standing room only outside) were smoking "something". We felt that we were one butt from a catastrophic fire. We could not hear the music, it was raining, and it was far from enjoyable. Based on the amazing reviews of this tour we were so excited. Unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations.

Hi Julie, we love Kelty and Ike too! Truly they are gems of Austin. I'm sorry to hear about the one stop being a bummer. Skylark (the venue mentioned) abruptly announced that they were closing their doors that week. They have been a cornerstone of the East Austin music community for decades and we felt that it was important to share with visitors. In hindsight we should have anticipated that access would be severely limited. Please join us again and we will show you more hidden gems and not keep you out in the rain!
