The Alcatraz tour was busy but very organised. From boarding the ferry to introduction at the base of Alcatraz. The audio guide is a must and make sure you go for a walk outside around the perimeter. The Golden Gate Bridge ride was fun and our guide Steve very informative. Spend some time in Sausalito before heading back on the ferry. Do the tours on two different days so you are not rushed.

It was a great experience 2 Day Tours but isn't worth the money for the Alcatraz tour. Because you can go to Alcatraz Island on your own for less money.
The Golden Gate Bike tour is worth the money, the guide was very nice and knowledgeable.

Such a fantastic day with awesome scenery (fortunately the fog had lifted) knowledgable guide. Highly recommended.

The Bike Ride was great and our tour guy was very Knowlegable and patient, especially on the hills, we never felt rushed. It was lots of fun, the whole family enjoyed the ride and the views. Definitley doing it again.

My family of four (including two teens) had a great time. Reza was patient, nice, and very informative. I was nervous if I could keep up, but the upgrade to the e-bike made It easy to do. Great photo ops and a fun way to explore to see the sights!

The views were breathtaking and the guide was very informative and friendly. But I would think twice if you have young kids. It says the ride is for beginners and all ages, but I have a 6 and 8 year old and I can say that there are a few steep hills and roadside cycling next to cars that are definitely not suitable (thankfully I chose to do tandem with my youngest)

Thanks Jamie. We do host 100s of families with kids a year and do our very best to describe the ride well before departure as well as have a map on the handlebars to follow. I’m glad we were able to accommodate your family with a tandem when you came in and needed to make a bike change. Also very happy to know your group was with our tour guide who are trained in accommodation of varying needs. The ride is 75% bike path and we always recommend riding carefully when it switches on the downhill to Sausalito.

Great bike adventure across Golden Gate Bridge and our guide was very indormative. The trip to Alcatraz was enjoyable. Loved hearing about the history.

After a few minor incidents with booking, mainly Alcatraz booking by viator we had the best experience

Bike tour was informative and fun!
Judy was a great tour guide please ask for her if u take the bike tour!
Patrick_B, Jul 2021
The tour had good bikes, beatiful sights, good narration (Adam good job), and was fun. Be sure you and your family are up for a 9 mile ride with hills.
Janet_R, Jul 2021
The guided bike tour was a lot of especially riding through the Golden Gate Bridge. Our guide was very patient, knowledgeable, and attentive. Mike bike chain popped off twice during the ride and she came back to make sure we were ok. Always keeping track of the entire group. She also took great pics of us all many great sites.
We also had a great time at the Alcatraz tour the next day. It was very informative and the being able to use our own devices to listen to the audio tour was a great idea.
This 2 day tour was definitely worth it especially since it guarantees the trip to Alcatraz which is hard to get tickets to because it sells out fast.
Tanja_M, Jul 2021
The trip had a date, after booking you realize that it’s a two day trip and it was not mentioned in the description that it is on two different days. Just a few days after booking Viator called to ask if we could switch the two days which was fine with me. But ever since then I only got information about the bicycle tour and didn’t hear anything from the Alcatraz tour so that it was unclear if we can do the Alcatraz tour. Even when I called Viator they couldn’t tell me more and told me to get in contact with the cruise supplier. In the end we could do both and the trips themselves were great.

Im sorry you had any trouble with the viator website- we could've tried to help if you had called us too. Im glad in the end both the tours went well and were great! Cheers!

I booked the guided bike tour across the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz about a month before my visit to SF since it sells out , Had not been in a bike in a while but I think the bike tour was my favorite, Adam our tour guide was very knowledgeable , kind and funny . He made the experience great and informative, just FYI if you have not been in a bike in a while I would suggest you upgrade to electric bike because those hill are no joke . For sure an experience to remember! Next day went to Alcatraz and everything went seamless my 14 yr old has a blast

So much fun! What a great way to see the city! Perfect family activity for 12 & 15 yr old kids! Loved having the bikes for the day so we could do mire sightseeing after the tour. We would definitely do it again.

Blake was very friendly and incredibly patient. I was constantly at the back of the group and he didn’t yell at us and waited. Good tour. Worth the money for sure!
Madeleine_C, Mar 2020
We loved our golden gate bridge cycle tour. It gave us stunning views of the bridge and other major sites along the way. We were a group of 6 which felt intimate. Sausilito was beautiful and lots of nice opportunities for lunch/wine/ice cream to reward us after the cycle. It was then easy to get the bikes back on the ferry. Would definitely recommend
Eliseo_V, Jan 2020
We did the bike tour first, please consider that it will be auto booked the day BEFORE the Alcatraz tour.
On this tour the guide was little rude to us as my son was lagging little behind the group. Since the very first stop she was marking we should go fast, did not like at all. We kept up for most of the trip And besides pictures there was not much info or insight from the guide once we passed the bride we decided to part off and go slower, the bright side was that she took great pictures, I think she had photo training.
On the Alcatraz no different than going by your own, just book ahead.
Over ok but it is not worth it if do your homework book ahead and save time an money

I booked this tour mostly to secure tickets to Alcatraz because this was a must do on my trip. The bike tour turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our vacation. We opted to upgrade to the electronic bikes and although unnecessary, they were a lot of fun. I recommend the E bikes if you can afford it. We took the bikes through SF after the tour and the E bikes made it a lot easier to bike all day.
I would recommend this tour to people who want to get a feel of the city and visit Golden Gate bridge, it was so much fun to ride over the bridge.

First, our tour guide Adam was great, calm, accurate and interesting to listen to. I give him 5/5.
What was extremelly dissatisfying was the shop and the staff there. First, they offer insurances for equipment damage, they even charge flat tires. The prices for repair without insurance is just to scare you to buy into it as you are a tourist and want to have no trouble, but OK.
What really annoyed me was how stressed everyone was, they wanted you out on the road as fast as possible. Our youngest wanted to have a test ride so he could feel comfortable and safe before cycling out in the SF trafic. OMG, this was a BIG issue for the staff, we had to stand our ground, but they were clearly annoyed. I would think safety of the customers would be of some importance. Our kid is an experienced bicyclists but needs time to adjust to new situations, this was apparently very annoying for them. Also at the reception, the manager was annoyed he had to repeat information as we felt he talk to fast for us to be able to register what he said. Not a good start of the tour, I would go somewhere else, I am sure they have good tour guides too.

The bike tour is definitely a great way to get out of the city and see the real beauty of San Francisco. We had Steve as our tour guide and he taught us loads about the history of SF that you would have to search hard for elsewhere. Our youngest was 10 and needed help up hillls, it’s busy too with other tours but we’ll worth it. Alcatraz audio amazing too.

Interesting info given by the guide, Adam. Bike tour stopped regularly which was fine for the parents, and challznging enough for the boys (some steep hills! :))
Alcatraz was impressive

This was our first time in San Francisco and it was amazing! I highly recommend doing this tour package. Our bike tour across the Golden Gate Bridge with Bay City Bikes was awesome! Our bike guide, Eli, was amazing as well as all the other employees at Bay City Bikes! Eli was so friendly and fun and taught us a lot about the City. The pros of doing a tour with this company is you are with a group and you are not having to navigate on your own. The roads are busy and narrow. So for safety reasons it's nice to be with someone who is familiar with where you are going. Sausalito was gorgeous! Could have spent all day there! Eli took us off the beaten path to some other beautiful spots that we probably would have missed on our own. So worth your time to do this. The views over the bridge is breathtaking! Alcatraz was worth it too. Totally satisfied! Viator was very easy to book through!

2 fantastic activities over 2 days! Bike tour took us to places we wouldn't have thought of going with a knowledgeable guide, but we thought you needed to be a competent cyclist to manage it - some of our tour found it too hard and dropped out. We loved it and to have the bikes for 12 hours was a real bonus. Alcatraz the next day was brilliant- get there early to collect your ticket though and remember that everyone in the party who is over 18 needs photo ID.

Love the Golden Gate Bridge guide bike tour, Phil was an excellent guide and shared many amazing history about the city! This will be great for first time visitors to SF. Alcatraz was good but feels a little too commercialized.
Luke_T, Apr 2019
Fantastic bike ride and riding over the Golden Gate Bridge. Was able to keep the bike until the following day. Really helpful team at the shop and good tour guide.
Aoife_D, Apr 2019
Such a great combo tour. The bikes really get you in the mood to explore this amazing city. Eli was our guide,he was so nice and so much fun!! So well organised and stress free. Highly recommend!

Well all can say is what a fantastic trip and well worth the money with the 24 hour bike hire meant we was able to carry on our journey to the next couple of towns a d catch a later ferry at a different port. Our tour guy Reed was awesome and very knowledgeable, great day had by all on the tour
Marlena_K, Mar 2019
TheY've wee the highlight pig my wick trip to San Fran. Great way to see the bridge and little towns. The pace of the cycling was appropriate for pretty much anyone including kids. And the tour guide, Steve, was absolutely full of knowledge about the area. Highly recommend this tour.

Wanted to book for last minute excursion during holiday. Viator had combo tickets for Alcatraz + GG Bike Ride. For the season and last minute, it was a good deal, especially only way to get Alcatraz tix for this time period. Would recommend both and recommend looking at Viator if cant get it through normal means.

I Advise anyone looking to do a tour to pay when you arrive at the location. Do not pay for anything ahead of time because they will mess up and then tell you you are unable to get a refund. I received an email saying that the tour will start at 1:30 PM and when I showed up they told me that I missed the 10 AM bike ride. No where in the email did it say anything started at 10am. They knew they were wrong and admitted it but said I could not get a refund. Do not pay ahead of time. Speak to someone when you get there!
