Great trip to the island
Great information through the audio tour and displays around the island
A part of the island was closed due to ongoing repairs and when we left the island was closing for a week for essential repairs so glad we got to go
While we were there the last inmate was signing books so an added bonus

A lot of climbing up hills, but the trek is well worth it. To experience what the inmates probably felt in such tight quarters and then there is the 'hole'. Another scary experience altogether.

Hi I'm very unsatisfied with this tour. I booked this with the impression it had a night cruise included, which it did not. I would have not booked this tour otherwise. You charged me double of what it would normally cost to visit Alcatraz! Please expect a poor review online

The night option is only available Tuesday through Sunday.
Great views of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. Most of the buildings were closed. The audio tour of the main prisoner building was interesting in its topics of racism, famous inmates, and escape attempts. Otherwise, a decent place to eat about 2-3 hours of one’s day.

Try to get the first boat across to the island as later in the day it is swamped by visitors. We had plenty of space to read the information and go into the cells

The visit to Alcatraz was good, however, our departure time was for 2:15pm and we didn't actually leave Pier 33 until 2:50 pm. Once your on the island be prepared to walk a steep hill that is like walking 13 stories straight up, so wear comfy shoe and enjoy.

Fun trip to Alcatraz. Thought it would be more behind the scenes but was a cattle car of about 200 people on the ferry and in the exhibit. Great to go at night. Makes it a bit more creepy. Big walk up a hill. If you have mobility issues they have a tram for you. Dress in layers. Time in the cell block is an audio headset. Easy to go at your own pace.

It was a great experience, something I've wanted to do fr a long time. The ferry ride gives you a great view of Alcatraz, the city and San Francisco Bay. We took advantage of the discussion of some of the more notable prisoners and escape attempts, and the audio tour of the prison itself is really well done. It was definitely a highlight of our weekend in San Francisco!
