A delightful daytrip to Sintra!

My husband and I had a terrific time with tour guide Bruno and one other traveler on this five-hour, small-group trip to Sintra. We toured the inside of the Pena Palace and then drove past several other sites of interest, taking in the whole area, which would have been almost impossible to do without a car. Since we prefer to avoid the hassle of renting/driving/parking cars in foreign countries, this was definitely the way to go. Apart from not having to worry about logistics, the real plus of the day was the value that Bruno added. Knowledgeable, relaxed, personable — he helped our little group click almost immediately and kept things humming the whole day. He was very present — a good listener — and helped us connect with the things that really interested us and with each other. I would recommend Bruno for any tour he leads. Speaking of interests, if we had to do it over again, we might look for a version of this tour that included a look inside Monserrate, beyond an exterior viewing. But it’s hard to know — there are SO MANY sites in Sintra that it’s a little mind-boggling, and difficult to determine which ones you might want to spend more time at, until you actually see the lay of the land. All in all, we felt the amount we were able to see and learn in this particular half-day tour was pretty much on target for our energy level and attention span.

Perfect Christmas trip

We booked the sailing trip on Christmas day and it was the perfect gift. We ended up having a private tour as no one else had booked. Gabriel and Joao were friendly and shared info on what we were seeing, history of Lisbon, fado, life in Portugal. It was clear they love what they do and they ensured we had a great time. Our son got special treatment which made for a memorable Christmas. We had a perfect Christmas morning despite it being cold. Highly recommend and would do it again.

Well worth the time & ticket cost.

We booked this last minute & it worked out perfectly. We really enjoyed the views from the river. Such a different way to see the city. The captain & crew were friendly, it was not too crowded, they gave out blankets to anyone who wanted one. Overall - it was a really pleasant evening and a great value.

Great day trip with sights, stops and shops

Had to do this solo when my husband wasn’t feeling well enough to be on the road a total of 8 and a half hours. Met very friendly fellow tourists. Joanna was an amazing driver and pointed out many sights along the way! We entered the Palace gardens and walked the km uphill to the Pena Palace in Sintra on very slippery cobblestone paths. Be sure footed and in runners or don’t do this. The palace was interesting. We drove into Sintra and grabbed a tapas lunch, then shopped the stores nearby. Cap Roca was very windy but quite a sight. Cascais was another shopping spot and gelato stop. The drive back to Lisbon was scenic along the coast. Really recommend it!

Lovely afternoon!!

Our captain, Sebastian and his assistant were wonderful! My husband and I sailed with a family of four from France and had a lovely afternoon, despite the overcast weather. We had great conversation, interesting history and nice views. Sebastian is fluent in at least four languages, so he provided fantastic descriptions for everyone. The sailboat is large and very accommodating.

Enjoyable 2 hours.

Captain Beni and Mate Duarte were very capable and pleasant. The 36’ boat was clean and well-maintained. Captain Beni’s narration on the riverfront’s statues, buildings and history was informative and interesting. She was very knowledgeable. They had blankets to keep passengers warm after the sunset, and it did get quite chilly. We got some great pictures of the golden sunset over the river, bridge and Christ statue. It was an enjoyable 2 hours which gave us a different perspective on the Belém/Lisbon area.

Closed boat but windows...

Closed boat but windows open for those amazing views. Back of the boat had a smaller wide open spot but was hard to get out there as a lot of guests stayed there. Many drink choices and pizza kept coming out. Music was great and the Dj played song we requested quickly. Everyone was friendly and made for a great time!

What a view!

The sunset cruise was amazing!! The crew were excellent. They were very friendly, amusing and kept the wine flowing throughout the cruise. We met some very nice people during the cruise which made it even more special. The sunset and views of Lisbon from the water were spectacular.
